Anyone experience a buffer failure?

 Thats an AR 15 Buffer , you need a 308 Buffer . Unless that photo of yours of its measurement is an optical illusion , that Buffer is longer then 5.27", looks like 5 1/2" & its not showing its being measured from end to end .

 

  Measure the Buffer Spring & count the Coils to make sure you have a 308 Rifle Buffer Spring & not an AR 15 Spring .

 If you did get 5.27" end to end , its the correct length Buffer for a 308AR , as long as the weight is correct .

I pulled my 308AR DPMS Buffer & it measured 5.295" with a Digital Caliper .

The AR 15 Rifle Buffer is 5.8975" 

 If your Buffer is what you say it is , the issue you have is the POS product of a Buffer . Order one from a reputable retailer & if your Buffer Spring is correct , then you found your issue .
