dsdmmat
http://www.prepperforums.net/forum/rifles-sks-ar-ak-long-guns/100169-ar10-problems.html I was browsing the prepperforum when I ran across this thread. It sounds like the guy has an undergassed problem but some of the advice he was given was interesting. The guy has a bear creek 243 upper on a DPMS lower. I found this particularly interesting: Swap out your AR15 spring and buffer to see if that solves your problem. So I posted pictures of the differences in the AR 308 vs AR15 platform buffer parts. I just couldn't sit back and wait for the next post that said "my bolt won't lock back and it kicks like a mule now." If I recall correctly The Armalite carbine buffer tube is longer than the standard carbine buffer tube so you might be able to get away with the AR15 carbine buffer length but I am not certain about that. Completely true. AR-10 Carbine system directly uses the AR15 H3 carbine buffer, 3.250" long. ^^^ Real Armalite parts, I'm talking about. DPMS-based 308 carbine recoil systems use a 2.500" long buffer thats light as hell from the factory, and nowhere near an H3-weighted buffer. AR 15 buffers and springs should never be thrown in AR308s without an Armalite Carbine Buffer tube.

You would still need a Armalite AR 10 308 Buffer Spring ( Same Spring for Rifle or Carbine , 34 coils /13.750" long but different Length/Weight Buffers ) with the AR 10 Receiver extension & the AR 15 H3 Buffer . Yeah when it comes to the two patterns it is wise to stay on one side of the fence or the other. I could not believe the advice I was reading.
