thegreatoutlaw
I just picked up a that was built in 2007 but looks like a safe queen. It is a DPMS LR-308 with Timney Triggers AR-10 Competition Trigger. I added a budget scope for now a Center Point 4-16x40mm. I sited it in at 50 and 100 yards. It held the zero after twenty rounds. That is all I could afford to shoot for now :) I am new to the 308 platform and will welcome any advice. Any advice on maintaining the rifle or what to look out for when shooting. I am familiar with the AR-15 and love my stag. I wanted something for longer range and a heavier load.I will be looking for a better scope in the future but can't afford much more than $200-300 range. Sisco
I am going to steal a page from 98Z’s book and recommend you look at a Primary Arms scope in that price range. He recommended them to me and I am really glad I listened. As good a quality as scopes twice the price. Take the money you save and buy more ammo and really get to know your rifle. Heavy on the lube to start, until you know how much it was shot. AR10’smlike a lot of lube to start.
98Z5V
^^^ Yep, the PA 4-14 first focal plane scopes. Let us know a little more about what you're familiar with, and it'll be easier to recommend which one. The ACSS HUD DMR version is very nice, and easy to use. http://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-4-14x44mm-riflescope-acss-hud-dmr-308-223-reticle-pa4-14xffp308
