Bloomer
Just got a DPMS panther arms. Went out to confirm my zero at 100m. Couldn’t land paper but after a few more shots and no adjustments my rounds started landing right on top of each other where I was aiming. Is this because my barrel was cold? I can’t really get my rifle warmed up if I’m hunting with it.
Alan Waters
Did you clean the barrel good before shooting?
jtallen83
Sometimes the shooter needs the warm up. Do you try some dry fire first? Edited November 14, 2018 by jtallen83
Bloomer
Whole rifle was well clean and I feel I’m a very comfortable shooter. Going on 5 years as an 11B with the ARMY and 20 years of an avid hunter.
jtallen83
Check for any movement in the rail or the barrel. I have experienced similar issues at times but then that same rifle will shoot fine from the cold bore on the next trip, figured it must be me then. survivalshop
All Barrels need break in time for them to season up properly , even some Match Barrels . You don't say much about the Rifle , is it new ? Scoped ? If so , what Scope ,Mount /Rings ? What ammo ? have you tried other Brands & Bullet weights of ammo ?
