willbird
Dropped a tape measure down into a shockwave tube just for giggles. 6-15/16"(top) and 7.0" (bottom)...no notch in bottom.

willbird
Got everything together and fired a box of Tula and 5 rounds of WW Super X 150 grain Working 100% once I got the adj gas block dialed in. No intensive accuracy work with the TRS-25 but was clustering in a couple inches at 75 yards. Bill

willbird
Put a 4.5x14x40 leopold on top to get a better idea how it will shoot. WW 150 grain powerpoint factory ammo best I could get was around 2" at 75 yards. Took 10 fired cases, reloaded them with 42.0 varget, CCI 200 primer, and some 173 grain FMJ. Forst group was .862 for 5 shots at 75 yards, second was just over 1". So the $59 barrel is not a total wash accuracy wise anyway :-). Need to get some better bullets and brass. The 173's are some older M118 we used to buy from DCM (predecessor of the CMP) bulk packed in an ammo can for $.04 each in the 1980's. Not nearly as good a bullet as say Sierra match kings, but not a terrible bullet by any means :-). The bullet would the the one on the left. willbird
Some fellow maintenance guys at work did not know I am a machinist, I have made up parts we needed using the lathe and or or mill and they ask "where did you find that?"....I tell them "it was inside a length of bar stock that was on the steel rack :-)".
