Radioactive
Been using Hornady one shot but just ran out. I’ve been thinking of trying the lanolin alcohol home brew. Any one else using it? I’m concerned about it gumming up my steel pins in my tumbler.

Sounds sarcastic - maybe if you explain it with your experience using it might sound more helpful.

Radioactive
Not sure if the commercial isn’t petro or silicon based. Inter webs says the Dillon lube is just lanolin and achohol. I mixed some up 10:1 to try and was curious to see if anyone else had used it. Ultimate reloader used some and gave it good reviews. That guy is the tits when it comes to reloading. I’ll give it a whirl today and post my results.

Radioactive
The lanolin and alcohol works ok. Seemed about the same level of effort. A little messier than the one shot but not bad. I cleaned the cases with my ultrasonic and hot water with some dawn and they were fine. Didn’t want to tumble as I read it could gum up the pins prob not but played it safe. I think I’ll run with this stuff for now - not as expensive as one shot
Cunuckgaucho
I use lanolin and alcohol and haven't had an issues.Heard some people using the clear wire pulling lube which getting it for free at some point I'll try that and see.
Uncle Harley
I used the lanolin oil & iso heet recipe for the 1st time today. Worked great. 1 tablespoon lanolin oil, 8 tablespoons iso heet mixed in a small spray bottle, shake well. Placed a paper towel around a small block of wood & sprayed it down. Rolled the cases back & forth several times to coat. No stuck cases.

What does a bottle of heat run price wise?

What does a bottle of heat run price wise? Years ago I ordered some Herters "Fabulous beats all Cartridge case lube". a small 3 oz. bottle costs $3.98 (pricey for 1970s dollars) got it and opened it, it looked like and smelled exactly like Texaco 140 wt. gear lube that I used in an old Chevy 1 ton with a leaky 4 speed box. since then I have been using some of that five gallon of 140Wt. gear grease for case lube and multi -kind of other firearms lube jobs. It still smells awful, but does the job.
