imschur
Brownells is stocking these "Super Select Fire" and "Super Semi Automatic" triggers. I this a new variation?
PantherPlayer
Man I would be reallly tempted to buy one of those is they had a 308 model, they seem pretty cheap for a Geissele. That SSF model would look pretty tempting to but it's the same problem, not made to fit LR-308's.
imschur
but it says AR-15/M16/AR-STYLE .308 HI-SPEED SSA/SSF TRIGGER
draco41
I wonder if the BATFE would classify the SSF model the same as having a FA FCG in your weapon?
PantherPlayer
I believe they throw that .308 in there because of this line "May be installed in AR-style .308 rifles that accept AR-15 triggers." Which, to my knowledge, doesn't include very many 308 rifles at all :-\ Draco, what do you mean FA FCG? Probly gonna be one of those duh questions but I can't think of what it would be past fully automatic...lol
imschur
Actually quite a few AR-15 triggers work in the .308's. One of the biggest issues is clearance between the hammer and carrier. That said I prefer a trigger that the manufacturer specifies for .308's

PantherPlayer
Ahhhh yeah, I've seen that before lol. That is a very good question because I toyed around with buying one on Brownells and I didn't buy one but I went about as far as I felt comfortable with the order process without actually placing the order and never came across any buying restrictions or such things that might be expected with something like that. draco41
I've heard stories, true or not, about people getting arrested with having an m16 FCG but not installed and they were charged with constructive possession with intent to manufacture an NFA weapon. from what I have read, the SSA and the SSF are the same, with the SSF being for full auto. video about the SSF
PantherPlayer
So what you are saying is that anyone without an nfa licence should even consider getting the ssf unless they are willing and ready to face the consequences :)

I look at it this way, why chance it when the SSA is the same as the SSF only w/o the full auto capability. I decided to go with the DMR myself. I'll let you know how it works out, the rest of my parts should be in by next week.
Madhouse
While at SHOT my buddy bought a couple of their triggers, I think the "match" model. They were having a show special, I think they were $200 cash.I got a free hat because of it. 8)
