Realistic example of WW III

This is my primary literature project. I've been working on this for years.

It's called, "In The End"

Unfortunately, this deals allot with spirituality and my spiritual views have changed allot during the writing of this. Although the story is closely based on a Christian book (Revelation), the expressed principals are much more in line with Judea. Fortunately, the story is extremely passive in terms of taking sides on religion and is focused much more on preaching through action rather then words.

Although based on biblical events, this IS a war story. I am not sure if any of it is in any of the examples below, but this story has allot of horrific content.

This one is basically the point where all the "worst parts of the bible" stuff begins.

Chapter 23: Beginning of Decent

Once in the air, Zack had finally been able to calm down and quickly fell asleep, resting his head against the window of the aircraft. Hozo, who sat next to him had also fallen asleep with his head rested against his elbow. Loren however was still quite restless, enjoying what would be the final stage of his one opportunity in life to enjoy the beauty of the world as seen from the sky. Loren sensed this and began to shed light tears as he stared at the beauty of the world through the window of the airliner. Then he turned his attention to his brother to think about the fact that had Hozo not succeeded in talking him in to this mission, Zack would never again have the opportunity to enjoy the worlds beauty or take part in it. Then he began to think about Zack's personality in a positive perspective. Zack was a hot head and arrogant. He did many bad things and would not likely change, but he also had a sense of conviction and desire to do good. He would never abuse women or children but was quite protective of them on the contrary. He hated racism, theft, and greed. All in all, Zack, especially in this time, had plenty of potential to do much more good for the world then bad, even if he never change his ways.

Then Loren began to see his own dark side. He knew from the beginning that Zack had not committed the crime that he was accused of and still he wanted to leave him to rot in a foreign prison. It was then that he began to really think hard about the bombing of a couple years ago and what it must have done to him. For these two years, his mind and heart were troubled with the horrific memories. What must have gone through his mind as he cradled the mangled body of a dead child, a child who's life was hard enough as it was, and murdered in cold blood by Loren's enemies. The turmoil in his mind created a tornado of mixed emotions of the utmost intensity and drew obvious tears in his eyes. He thought for only a couple seconds about sleeping it off before realizing that trying to sleep would do no good. Loren, even as young as he was, had already spent far too many years growing use to a life of having to face constant problems without relief. This had imprinted in him a mentality that ignoring these things would only make them worse.

His mind suddenly returned to the subject to face it head on. It seamed to him that the constant experience of the hate, murder and persecution that he witnessed and all too often suffered at the hands of had taken a hold of him, and now he was beginning to grow cold and empty. Turning his sight to the window of the aircraft, he sought the reflection of his face in the window. Staring deep in to his own eyes, he thought deeply about what he really was. His thoughts shifted to the men he had killed and the sight of their bodies lying where they fell. Men had died at his hands yet he still lived. It was now that he first questioned whether or not he deserved to live. He killed many men, and then wanted to leave his own flesh and blood brother to rot in a foreign prison for a crime he never committed. A slight humor then occurred to him. As bad as Zack was, one thing he never did was kill anyone. At least, not that Loren knew of. Then it occurred to Loren. Every single man he ever killed was a rapist and/or a murderer. He never once killed a man who was even questionably good and he never killed for any reason but in defense of another. In fact, he never even killed in his own defense. It was always in defense of someone else. This finely left Loren to ease. Returning his attention to his reflection in the window, he looked in to his eyes, studied his gaze and thought to himself; "I am not a murderer. I am a good man. I have only made the world a better place."

Finely able to relax, he attempted to get in a comfortable resting position when he noticed that a middle aged Arabic man had been watching him the whole time. Now establishing eye contact with the man, he studied the Arabic mans eyes as he did his own, which revealed a man who had apparently seen some rough times and had the sort of experience in life that allowed him to really understand what sort of things Loren must have been thinking and going through. Loren studied the man's surroundings. Next to him, nearest to the window was a woman in a veil resting her head against the window and an adolescent girl resting on her. The man was holding in his arms little girl who looked five or six years old. Her head rested against his chest and her mouth was open and slightly drooling on her fathers shirt. Behind them was an adolescent boy and a young man who appeared to be of the same family, both awake but quiet and seemingly ignorant of the environment around them.

Loren quickly returned to eye contact with the Arabic man, noticing the man seamed to be feeling comfortable about him but very uneasy about everything else. Loren then began to feel very uneasy, apparently picking up on the Arabic mans sense. Loren began to wonder if people on the plane were feeling scared of the Arabic man and Loren began to start thinking defensively, and his nature to bring happiness kicked in but without action. In stead, Loren just went to sleep.

In his sleep, his dreams were abstract in appearance, just colors and thoughts running wiled. Bits and pieces of conversations and random thoughts shifted through his mind when a feeling of joy overcame him and the voice of a young lady saying: "Excuse me", then wanting to kindly greet her. The voice again said: "excuse me" and a physical feeling with it. Then the rough voice of Hozo came in: "Hay, Loren, wake your ass up." Loren was now aware that he was dreaming and trying to come out of the dream state. Suddenly, he was wide awake with a great deal of energy shifting around his spine. Hozo was looking straight at him and said: "There we go." Then a hand gently rested on his shoulder and he looked up to see a pretty young stewardess looking at him and then she said: "I am sorry to bother you. There has been an emergency and I have been asked to wake you for an announcement from the pilot." She then moved on leaving Loren to focus on Hozo. Hozo then said: "don't worry, the plane doesn't seam to be in any trouble."

That line caused Loren to remember the Arabic family and then looked at them. They had not moved but they were all awake and nervously looking around, the father looking like he was about to faint. All waited nervously. Any emergency would get most people uneasy, but these people were in an airliner high above the ground so the uneasiness among the passengers was only to be expected. Loren was getting frustrated, just wanting to hear the news and it be over with, but his frustration was overpowered by his rationality and understanding of these things and the fact that this wait was necessary. After a few minutes the pilot finely came on: "Good day passengers. I hope you have enjoyed your flight. I also hope that the news has not been too much inconvenience for you. I must first let you know that you are safe and the aircraft is in good condition and we will be landing soon. However, I have been informed that there has been a national emergency and the president of the United States has ordered that all aircraft be grounded. When we land, please remain in your seats. Some government officials will be boarding the plane to talk with you about what has happened. Thank you for listening and again, we're sorry for the inconvenience."

While fear of danger had passed, the passengers were now highly worried about what must have happened. The president of the United States ordering all planes be grounded meant that something serious had happened. It was pretty clear that the passengers feared that another 9/11 had happened. Looking at Zack, he seamed both nervous and mad. Perhaps Loren and Hozo were the only people among the passengers who were open minded about it. The only thing that seamed clear or obvious to either of them is that there was a national emergency. The rest was just speculation and would remain that way until they be informed of what happened. Both were still as nervous as everyone else. Another 9/11 or not, a national emergency is still a national emergency, and they wouldn't be grounding all aircraft if it didn't involve some sort of evidence of deliberate mass violence.

As the aircraft touched down, everyone's nervousness intensified to numbness. The time had come and people seamed helpless, having to face a reality that could never be reversed. Something horrible had happened and there was nothing anyone could do to change that.

The aircraft slowed down and began to taxi towards the buildings. As the buildings came in view of the passengers, everyone became very nervous by the presence of many HUMVs, armored cars, soldiers standing around with M-14 and M-16 rifles on their shoulders and all kinds of people in various uniforms not normally seen at airports. Whatever happened, it must have been worse then 9/11 for this amount of commotion. As the airliner came to a stop, Loren looked nervously at the other passengers to try and ease the burden of waiting for the bad news. A stewardess came on the speaker and announced: "Please remain seated until further notice." No one dared defy that suggestion. The passengers just remained stationary, nervously awaiting what would happen next. After a couple minutes, the exit door opened and in stepped a half a dozen men in military uniforms with helmets on their heads, flack jackets and Beretta M-9 pistols in holsters. Some of them had pens and paperwork in hand. One of them spoke in a raised voice: "Hello. I am Sargent Jerry Evans of the United States National Guard. There has been a national emergency and all aircraft have been ordered grounded until further notice. FEMA will try to find living arrangements for you until aircraft resume operation." Then a young lady asked Sargent Evans; "Excuse me, what happened?" Sargent Evans replied; "I am not at liberty to say. Once you have left the aircraft and have been cleared, you will have the opportunity to watch the news. The president will be addressing the nation about what happened. That is all I can tell you for now." Then returning focus on the passengers as a whole, he said; "If there is anyone here who lives in New York city or has loved ones who live there, please raise your hand." A half a dozen people raised their hands. Then one of the soldiers with pen and paper said: "Those of you who raised their hands, please follow me. They stood up and followed him off of the aircraft in to the terminal. Then Sergent Evens said: "If there is anyone here from an Arabic nation, please raise your hand." The father of the Arabic family, nearly in tears and hysteria, quickly raised his hand as did all of his family members. Then another soldier with pen and paper said: "I need to get some information from you. Don't worry, you are not in any trouble, I just need to get some information. Please follow me." The family quickly gathered their belongings and were on their feet, nervously walking behind the soldier as he escorted them off of the aircraft.

Sargent Evans continued: "We are going to make a quick search of your luggage and then let you go." The soldiers then called passengers, one by one to them and briefly went through their luggage before sending them to walk in to the terminal.

Once inside, the three could hear the voices of women screaming in some enclosed rooms where the New York residents had apparently been taken. There was no doubt that something horribly tragic had taken place in New York. The 3 wasted no time at getting in front of a TV screen. Sure enough, there was nothing but talk about a tragedy in new York city. Oddly enough, despite all of the talk, they did not show any footage at all of the carnage of whatever happened. Only Loren and Hozo seamed to notice this as an indicant of something far out of the ordinary. The rest of the people only seamed frustrated that no one would let them see what happened, and talk of what happened seamed vague. This would soon change. The news man talking announced: "I am told that we just made radio contact with the captain of a cargo ship that is now 20 miles south of Manhattan. Here he is now. Sir, you are on the air. Can you tell us what you saw?" The captain, heard on the radio, replied: "It was just a sudden flash of light off in the distance and then a horrendous bang that sounded like thunder." The news man replied: "So, I assume your ship will not be returning to New York." The captain responded; "No, the company asked us to stay off-shore for a bit and we will be redirected soon. I don't think anyone dares go anywhere near New York." The news man asked; "Do any of you live in New York, how are you taking this and do any of you who live there intend to return home ever?" The Captain replied: "Well, I am in shock, this has been my home for many years, many of my crew live there and we have worked there all our lives. We grew up in New York, we helped make it the greatest city in the world, and now, in an instant, it's all gone forever."

Hearing this made everyone in the terminal ill. What on earth happened? Loren and Hozo had put the pieces together as did many others but the whole of the people remained somewhat ignorant of anything other then that New York city had apparently been destroyed.

The news went on and on for a great deal of time though Loren and Hozo didn't seam to care, that is, until the president of the United States came on to address the nation: "My fellow Americans. I come before you today in great sadness, to announce the worst tragedy in the history of our nation. This morning, at approximately 9:22 AM, a massive explosion took place in downtown Manhattan. We have learned that the explosion was created by a Nuclear missile, possibly one made by the Soviet Union. We are also now aware that this attack on American property and American lives had been long planned and executed by Muslim Jihad extremist groups from the middle east and possibly supported by one or more middle eastern country. The damage caused by this attack has been of the utmost extreme. All of Manhattan has been completely destroyed and the devastation has reached deep in to other parts of New York. In addition to the many buildings destroyed by the blast, the trauma has caused well over a hundred other buildings to fall throughout the city limits. A large portion of the county is also contaminated by nuclear fall out. In addition to the massive destruction of American property, it brings me great agony to announce that the loss of American lives is catastrophic. It will be a long time before we know the exact death toll but it is estimated that at least a half a million Americans have perished in the disaster."

Although the president would continue a long speech, this was all most people listened to, and that was certainly true about Loren. The inevitable claims the president would make about war against Jihad just didn't sound realistic and he was in no mood to be thinking about military matters.

Since they didn't have much to begin with, the 3 slept in the terminal, only protecting their money and plane tickets, and spent their days helping people who were stranded in San Francisco. Before long, the 3 had grown comfortable with their living conditions and were starting to feel at home when the announcement was made that aircraft would resume operations and get people to their destinations. Loren managed to call Mark Horner and let him know that they were coming and try to meet them at the terminal so they could get away fast and avoid all of the commotion.

Early the next morning, they boarded an aircraft and took flight, finally on their way home. As the aircraft ascended, Loren could hear an elderly lady behind him talking on her cell phone with a relative in San Francisco who she apparently stayed with for the 10 day period that the aircraft were grounded. Loren paid no real attention. It was just a normal phone call, that is, until something got Loren's undivided attention. The lady suddenly asked: "What, there's an earthquake?" as she turned her head towards the window, apparently trying to look at the part of town that the person she was speaking with was located. Loren quickly came to his senses and decided to just mind his own business when the lady suddenly screamed: OH' MY GOD!! OH' MY GOD! Everyone suddenly turned at her to quickly see through the window that several large buildings in San Francisco were crumbling. Loren immediately began to wonder if there was any connection between this and the nuclear strike on New York City. Now, all 3 were in shock and disbelief and the rest of the passengers were experiencing hysteria.

Mark Horner was waiting patiently at the terminal when he found the 3 walking to him in a daze. Mark too was nervous, having heard a sudden burst of commotion at the terminal while waiting for the 3 but hadn't been paying attention. Once met, he asked them what's wrong and Loren responded: "Mark, lets just go home. I'll tell you about it later." Mark gave him a funny look and said: "Yeah, I think we probably should."

Turning around, they walked out of the terminal and in to the parking lot. Mark began talking about how he once again managed to park in a place without any commotion in spite of what all was going on and began to show them to his car. As he approached, all 4 of them immediately noticed a dozen men had followed them in to this abandoned area and were wondering if they were about to be mugged. Still walking, Loren said: "What do you want?" No one replied but as they neared a corner of a building, two men moved out from behind it and stopped in front of the four. Loren gave Hozo a look indicating that it's time to break free of them and turned towards one of the men behind him, swinging for his jacket when one of the men who had come out from behind the building said: "HALT. We don't want to hurt you." By the time he finished saying that, Loren had slammed the man on the ground the man reaching for a taser and Loren moving to turn it against him when the man who spoke before yelled: "Don't!" and the man grabbed his taser but when Loren reached for it, he could feel that the man was using his strength to keep the taser stationary, proving that he was responding to orders to stand down, so Loren let go, gently patted the man on the shoulder once as a sign of good faith and returned to his feet, surprised to see Hozo holding a .357 Magnum handgun to the head of one of the other men that had been following them. Loren and Mark wondered how Hozo managed to get a hold of it at the time.

The man who ordered the stand down said: "We are looking for Loren Springheart and Hozo Espawn. Are any of you them?" Hozo asked; "Who wants to know?" The man responded. "We are federal agents." Hozo responded: "And how am I suppose to know that?" Loren interrupted; "Because the only logical explanation for a bunch preppy men armed with tasers is that the feds have business with us." Then Loren turned his attention to the man and asked: "But, why would the feds be bothering with us at a time like this." as he walked casually towards the agent. After a short pause, Loren asked: "Well, what is it?"

The man replied: "Honestly, I don't know, but I have been asked to escort you to base." Then one of the men handed Loren a cell phone. "Hello?" The man on the phone replied: "Loren, this is Joel, your old boss." Loren replied: "Since when are you contracting mercenary work out to the feds." Joel replied: "Loren, they are offering you this one for a reason, hear them out." Loren replied: "And what about Mark." Joel replied: "Haven't you taken him on a few assignments with you?" Loren replied: "Yes, I have." Joel replied: "Hang on." and the phone conversation ended. All stood still for a few minutes before the phone rang again. "Loren." "Loren speaking" "OK, I talked it over and it is decided that Mark should Join you." Mark heard this and said: "HELL NO!" Joel said: "Loren, let me talk to Mark for a minute."

Loren handed the cell phone to Mark. Mark said: "Yo." Joel replied: "Hay Mark, did I hear correctly that you are fascinated with Area 51?" Mark responded: "Yeah, why?" Joel replied: "Good, because that's where you're going!"

Test Site. Section 4. Nellis Air Range, Nevada.

Hozo, Loren and Mark sat nervously in a small white room with a simple layout. It was reasonable temperature and had places to rest. Mark, staring at the floor in disbelief said: "I never thought in my life I would ever step foot on Area 51, and here I am, sitting in a little room dieing with boredom." Hozo interrupted: "Mark, Area 51 was shut down years ago, this is just a small installation that use to be connected to it. There was never anything terribly spectacular about any of it anyway." Loren added: "Some of the countries deepest and darkest secrets are some of the most boring and uninteresting things." Mark replied: "Oh, come on! What about all the Alien Space craft?" Loren responded: "You seriously don't think all these generals and business men are sitting around with little gray men working deals do you?" Hozo responded: "It depends on which politicians and bankers we're talking about." All 3 laughed and continued a silly conversation for a while before the door was unlocked and a man in BDUs and a beret opened the door and asked for Loren and Hozo to follow him. They exited the room to find several other men in matching outfits standing around. They escorted Hozo and Loren to a room with an oval shaped table, a mixture of people in suits and military dress seated at it and standing around, many notebook computers on the table and all kinds of maps and charts on the walls.

Hozo and Loren were quietly asked to be seated and they did as instructed. Then one of the escorts whispered in a mans ear and the man announced: "Gentlemen, I would like you to meet Loren Springheart and Hozo Espawn who are now seated with us. Loren and Hozo were silent. A man, who appeared to be a general asked: "Do you have any idea why we asked you to come?" Loren responded: "Well, my guess is that it has something to do with an event in New York city and San Francisco." The general replied: "There is no evidence that what happened yesterday in San Francisco was anything but a natural disaster but yes, this DOES have something to do with what happened in New York."

Hozo said: "What? you want us to go around and pick up nuclear fragments or something?." The general replied; "Don't be a smart ass Hozo. You are a civilian as is Loren." Hozo became confused. Loren said: "Hozo, I have been a mercenary for years. The government won't contract mercenaries out unless something weird is going on." The General said: "Are you at all familiar with what is going on?" Loren replied: "To be serious, I have been spending all of my time with other matters. As you said, I am a civilian." A man in a baggy white shirt said: "Look, lets just cut through the bullpoopy. The president of the United States got congressional approval to clean house all over the entire middle east. A declaration of war on all Muslims over there who embrace the Jihad principal." Loren interrupted: "They are insane, how do you wage war against that?" The man replied; "I never said I agree, but that's what's happening. While you guys were trapped in Frisco, the Muslim extremists made a move that will make it much more practical to wage war against them." Hozo interrupted: "Oh really?" The man continued: Thousands of them have taken advantage of what they believe to be a moment of opportunity and have united in to an invasion force and invaded Israel. They are moving towards Jerusalem, apparently trying to seize the city. The United States military is plotting to engage them at Jezreel in only 3 days." Loren asked; "So what does any of this have to do with us?" The man replied: "Reports are that the people in Jezreel are fleeing to safety at Petra and other safe havens throughout that area. This means that once the Muslims reach Jezreel, the only inhabitants will be enemy forces, so our military is under orders to wipe them out." Loren interrupted: "Let me guess, they have hostages and you want us to go in and get em." The man said, WOW! That's exactly correct." Hozo said: "But why do you need civilians to do that?" Loren replied: "It's a political trick that allows them to take credit for the rescue if successful or deny any part of it if it fails." Then Hozo became angry and said: "If these hostages are so important to you, then why don't you assholes go in and get them yourselves?!" Then a familiar voice said: "Because they are more important to you." Standing behind them was Loren's partner Jean, who had been listening to the whole thing. "These men are good people and they follow your principals. It was I who recommended you. Look, a bloodbath is about to happen and I know that you, Loren have been pressed to accomplish something productive. This is a good opportunity for you, not to mention establishing relations with influencing people who have the good principals you share."

Loren said: "OK, but I want to know more about this crazy assault you are planning. What is the basic outline? "The general said: There will be a missal attack from our cruisers and then several waves of air strikes from bombers out of Iraq and aircraft from the USS Enterprise, Nimitz, Stennis, Reagan and Lincoln." Loren interrupted: "Wow, 5 nuclear aircraft carriers. You guys really are insane."  The general continued: "Then ground forces will move in while F-117 and B-2 stealth bombers will strike the enemy headquarters that are already set up in the Megiddo mountains. The headquarters are the primary target." Loren asked: "And what are our so-called allies saying about this?" The man in the white shirt replied: "They don't like it." Loren replied: "Are there any UN forces in the area?" The man replied: "Uhh...yes, what's new." Loren replied: "I guess it's none of our business what they are doing there so long as they stay out of ours but I have a bad feeling that they intend to butt in." The man replied: "It wouldn't be rational for them to do that." Loren replied: "Since when was the U.N. known for being very rational?"

The General butted in: "Look, we don't have all day for this. If you go in, we will give you all the supplies you need, you can take a team of your choosing and the mission pays 7 million dollars to be spread out among you and your crew when you get back. If you don't go in, those hostages have no chance of survival. That's when Loren remembered his thoughts from a couple weeks earlier on the airliner and how he wished to not make his mistake again. Loren gasped, sat back and looked at Hozo. Even if Loren wanted to do this, he had to take in to account, the interests of those he would be leading in to this dangerous rescue mission. Hozo said: "If Loren goes, I go, if Loren stays, I stay." Loren took a deep breath, looked at the map on the wall and then the general and said: "Yeah, we'll take the mission. You're right Jean. This is something we need to be doing." The people in the room started quietly talking among each other. Loren continued: "Plus, I don't know about Hozo but this is something I have to see with my own eyes." The rest of the room seamed to not be paying attention but Jean became incensed and said: "Loren, is it just my imagination or do you know something the rest of us don't?" This line got the entire room's undivided attention and there was a short pause. Loren replied: "Well, maybe." The General said: "If you know something of importance, you better tell us." Loren replied: "Well, I really think you are not taking the UN seriously enough. I'd bet allot that they are going to engage U.S. forces during the assault." The general became frustrated and said: "I thought we already had this conversation." Jean interrupted: "Loren, is that all?" Loren replied: "Well, there is one other thing. It may just be coincidence, but I am really uneasy about the fact that this whole operation is centered at these headquarters in the Megiddo Mountains." The man in the white shirt replied: "What does that have to do with anything?" Hozo became incensed and lifted his eyes towards the man. Loren sat forward and intensively replied: "The old Greek word for the Mountains of Megiddo is: Armageddon!"

As the title suggests, this is near (but not at) the end of the story:

Chapter 63: The Last Stand

Later that night. Mark was walking throughout the bunker, feebly trying to deal with Loren's death when he came across the room that Ronald was in. He looked in to find Ronald with a bible in his hands and reading. Mark opened the door and walked in. Ronald looked up nervously at him, for he could see that something tragic had happened. Mark said: "At ease." and then sat down quietly for a moment, deep in thought.

After a minute or so, Mark said: "Your advice saved us all today." Ronald replied: "Then why are you so unhappy?"

Mark replied: "Loren is dead."

Ronald began to look upset and said: "Oh." After a few seconds, he continued: "I wish I could have known him better. He seamed like a good fellow. It was him who changed my life around." Mark quietly replied: "Yeah, he had a way of doing things like that." and then sat quiet for a few seconds before continuing: "It can be hard for people to mourn for people they never knew, and you didn't know him very well. It'd be awkward to see you falling apart over it."

Ronald replied: "That is true, and perhaps it's of use right now." Mark looked at him with listening ears. Ronald continued: "I know everyone is sad, but now is not the time to mourn unless all of you wish to join him. The enemy knows where we are and they will return soon. We have absolutely no chance of winning this fight.

Mark realized that Ronald was right about both matters but it was clear that Ronald had something in mind. Mark said: "Go ahead?"

Ronald replied: "I was reading the Apocalypse to St. John when you came in here. It seams to me that you  guys have been too busy living out bible prophecy to read about and notice it. All kinds of things have come to pass right before our eyes. I myself grew up believing in fundamental science, but I find myself questioning how this could all be coincidence. The science I have studied has offered an alternative explanation for just about everything....but prophecy. Science simply does not have the answer. I have been reading over and over again and the more I read, the better I understand what we've been through. If what the bible says is true, then some of us have to survive this, and the time has in deed come for this to end.

Mark replied: "So what do you have in mind?"

Ronald grabbed some binoculars and said: "Let's go outside."

Mark looked at him suspiciously but Ronald said: "Come on, this is very important."

Mark walked outside with him and once they got outside, Ronald stopped and said: "Mark, when I was in the Nation's army, I learned of a mystery that they were faced with. It was kept secret from the general public and I can't imagine that to have changed."

Mark replied: "What is it?"

Ronald replied: "There is a large body in space moving close to us. We no longer have access to satellites and super powered telescopes, so we have no idea what it is. We think it's a planet, but no one is sure."

Mark replied: "That's ridiculous. Is that all?"

Ronald said. Mark, see that large, light right there. Take theses binoculars and have a look."

Mark looked through them and was shocked to see the full displacement of what looked like a planet or large meteor, the glow being a half-moon lighting on it. It was very close and the body could be seen in detail through the optics. Mark became stunned and said: "How on earth did we miss that?"

Ronald said: "The Samarians reported seeing the same thing right around the time that the great flood is said to have happened, and you are probably aware that we are due for a pole shift. Something is going to happen, and it's going to happen very soon, within days."

Mark was stunned and filled with a sense of world ending terror. He replied: "So, what do you suggest we do? We too can be wiped out in this mess."

Ronald replied: "I joined you because I feared for my soul. I realized that if prophecy is true, then with it comes the reality of afterlife, both positive and negative. If you are going to accept this, then you should heed the other warnings. Various religions believe in such events. Some of the strongest advice they give has been to stay inside, light some candles and pray."

Mark said: "You would have us abandon our defenses?"

Ronald said: "No, that would be foolish. Defend yourselves as far as you can, but once the natural disaster begins, whatever it may be, you should get inside and stay put. You will see it coming, and it will be obvious. That's my advice. Carry on as if it were not going to happen, but when it does, get inside immediately. Make sure everyone knows this as well."

Mark replied: "What about you Ronald?"

Ronald replied: "I am here now because I care more about my soul then my life. I hope this is enough to right my wrongs. My only reason for living anymore is to make up for what I have done and find some peace of mind and love for others. If I die in this mess, then please pray for me. I ask nothing more."

Mark replied: "Do you think you have a chance?"

Ronald replied: "Well, it's said in the bible that those who wear the mark are dammed forever, but there is no mention of people who took it out of ignorance and removed it and repented when enlightened, so I really don't know the answer. All I have is hope."

Mark sighed. Ronald continued: "Look at the bright side. You people have a chance to survive this and make that dream of an era of peace in to a reality. That also means that Loren is still alive."

Mark looked at him and said: "What?"

Ronald replied: "What I said earlier, with the validity of prophecy comes afterlife. If the prophecies are real, then so is Heaven. Not some mystic place with people floating around in clouds. A real world beyond our own. Theoretically, it's scientifically possible and the prophecies that we have witnessed are a testament to it."

Mark began to show tears in his eyes and realized that Ronald was right. He found himself thinking in terms of meeting Loren again some day but soon returned his mind to the moment."

Then he said to Ronald: "Well, lets make the best of it. If you are a good man, then maybe you can see this world of peace with us."

Ronald replied: "It doesn't matter. If I have any hope at all, then my death will bring me more joy then this world has to offer."

Mark replied: "Well, we're all exhausted. Let's head inside. Besides, I need to make sure they put Loren's body in a freezer. Last I saw, Aria was still clung to it."

The following day, a massive crowd of all the refugees and militants gathered around the hilltop entrance to the bunker. Standing before them was Roman who began to give his announcement:

"My brothers and sisters. We have again succeeded in surviving another attack against all odds. Despite an overwhelming assault, we only suffered one casualty." At this point, Roman began to struggle against breaking down and he could see that Aria was now resting her head on Mark's shoulder crying to the point of near collapse. Mark too was in tears.

Roman took a quick breath and continued: "May we all bid farewell to Loren Gerald Springheart." and then immediately crumbled in tears. The entire crowd was in shock and many of the people who had come to know Loren very well began to cry, while others were in disbelief.

After a moment, Roman gained control of himself again and said to the crowd: "We will hold a funeral service for Loren, but it will have to wait a little while. We are expecting another attack in a day or 2. This will probably be the last battle. We gained some new information last night and you will all receive special instructions. You must follow them. That is all."

As he ended his short speech, he again fell in to tears. It seamed he had cut his speech short in order to cope. He was not the man to handle Loren's death affairs. He was too close to Loren and unable to think straight on the matter. He would let someone else deal with it when the time came.

Later that day, Aria walked up to Shellie as she sat on the stump outside the north entrance. Shellie had a very sad and guilty look on her face which was red from excessive crying. Aria said: "Shellie, you need to forgive yourself. I think Loren meant more to me then anyone else here, and I certainly hold no grudge against you."

Shellie began to turn her head a little. Aria sat down next to her and continued: "I was right there. I am aware of what happened. Sure, you didn't use perfect judgment, but who would blame you in those circumstances. I fail to make perfect judgment all the time."

Shellie replied: "But you didn't get anyone killed by it."

Aria replied: "Only by circumstance. Many factors led to Loren's death and your behavior wasn't one of them. It was just random occurrence. You are guilty of nothing. Even Loren realized that in his final moment."

Shellie replied: "You noticed too, hu?"

Aria replied: Of course, everyone did. All you are guilty of is helping him do what he lived for and being a true friend till his dieing moment."

Shellie gasped and started to think. Aria replied: "Shellie, the only person guilty of Loren's death is the man who shot the two of you, and he's dead."

Shellie replied: "How do you know that?"

Aria replied: "I killed him shortly before I realized Loren had been shot.

Shellie replied: "Aria, what was it like the first time you ever killed anyone? What were the circumstances and how did it feel?"

Aria replied: "You and I have some similarities in our past. I was kidnapped by my mother's boyfriend when I was a little girl. I think he intended to rape and murder me. I had known Loren for years by that time and he was aware that I had been kidnapped but he was still out looking for me. Fortunately, the mercenary company he worked for had given me weapon and self defense training in case of those very circumstances. That training saved my life that day. I managed to get loose from my bonds and took his gun when he was preoccupied. I tried to convince him to surrender but he gambled that I didn't have it in me to pull the trigger. He lost."

Shellie then remembered the day her and Aria met and suddenly began to cry. Aria said: "What's wrong?"

Shellie replied: "You saved me and did so much for me, and here I repaid you by causing the death of the person who mattered most to you."

Aria replied: "STOP IT! You are guilty of nothing. You have no idea how bad I feel about what happened. Loren was as good as my father. The most important person in my life. I was devastated when he died, I still am now and I will never ever get over it. If you held any guilt for what happened, I would be the first to confront you with it. What you did is saved the lives of a bunch of children. You worked hand in hand with Loren to make sure those children were safe. It's just war circumstance. Even IF your actions led to his death, you are still a living creature, not a robot. You have feelings and thoughts. Your actions are never going to be perfect, especially while being shot at. Please, I beg of you. Let it go. Morn our loss. He was your friend. You need to treat him like one."

Shellie became nervous and confused and paused for a few seconds. Then she replied: "You act as if my actions did not cause his death."

Aria replied: "Assume that you kept running, allowing Loren room to move inward. How much time do you think you would have bought him? Do you REALLY think he would have been able to get in fast enough to keep from getting shot? You wouldn't have bought him a half a second. His fate was sealed no matter what. You need to let it go. It will benefit you and everyone else around here if you quit thinking about your role in his death and start thinking about bidding your FRIEND farewell and continuing the cause he died serving."

Shellie replied: "I'll do my best Aria. maybe I am just panicking over it. I guess I just need some time to calm down."

Aria replied: "OK, but just remember that a fight is coming soon and you need to be prepared. That reminds me"

Then Aria took the M-14 rifle she was wearing on her shoulder and placed it in her lap. "I should probably keep Loren's rifle, so that means that I have my own to spare." After staring at the gun in her lap for a few seconds, she removed the magazine, locked the bolt back and handed it to Shellie and said: This is the weapon that liberated you when you were being raped, taking an evil life and saving a good one in a single shot."

Shellie looked at the semi-short-barreled rifle in a near state of disbelief. She remembered the event, seeing the unforgettable sight of the cruel and perverted man's face instantly turn in to a splash of brain tissue, hair and skull fragments. Then she returned her thoughts to the weapon in her hands, settling the fact that it was this weapon that created that unforgettable scene. Then she looked at Aria, seeing that Aria alone was the living person that made the decision to make that event happen, and yet Aria was such a good person. Aria understood that such measures are necessary to eliminate evil and bring goodness. Shellie also realized that like her, Aria had feelings, was able to relate to events like that and probably found as much horror in the actions she had to take as Shellie witnessed during the rescue, the difference being that Aria had the burden of knowing that she would have to create them in order to save an innocent life, a burden that even now seemed unimaginable to Shellie, even though she knew what it was like to shoot at another human being.

Aria continued: "It's yours now." Then she set a few loaded magazines down on the stump next to Shellie and continued: "If you feel like you need to do something, then you should try fulfilling Loren's mission."

Shellie replied: "Aria, I am still so immature. I don't know what to do."

Aria replied: "I have a feeling that all you need to do is what you've been doing. Contrary to what you think, you are performing exceptionally well. Many others would have died along with Loren yesterday had it not been for your brave and swift actions. In this respect, you didn't cause anyone's death, you only prevented further casualties."

Shellie replied: "Aria, do you think we can win this fight, or do you think we will die along with Loren?"

Aria replied: "Logically, I do not know, but I have a feeling that the both of us will die as satisfied elderly women."

Shellie replied: "I hope you're right. It would really be nice to finally live in peace and raise younger generations to live in a world of happiness."

Aria replied: "Now you're thinking right."

Shellie replied: "Aria, what will you do after the war....if you survive?

Aria replied: "You know, I had thought about this allot. I think I will get involved in education. I want to teach our children how to live happily in a world of peace. What about you Shellie?"

Shellie replied: "I never thought I'd say this, but I think I want to settle down and get married."

Aria replied: "I had a feeling you would eventually go this rout."

Shellie replied: "What about you Aria?"

Aria replied: "I am too much like Loren. I would be lost in a marge situation."

Shellie replied: "I think I understand. It really would be awkward to see either one of you having a love life."

Aria replied: "You have some good insight about peace time and some time to kill. Why don't you go tell the children a story about peace. Some of them may not survive this next fight. It's be best to give them all the happiness you can."

Shellie began to feel sad for the children. What Aria said was true, that the risk against the lives of the children was still very real and she started to get a better understanding for what kind of person Aria was and how Aria saw things. Shellie agreed and moved on in to the bunker. Aria took Shellie's place on the stump and began thinking deeply about the conflict to come and silently praying for success.

The following morning, the landscape was covered with morning dew. The militants guarding the trenches were drinking soup that they kept in their thermoses. Some prayed intensely, knowing that they may soon die.

On the inside of the bunker, everyone waited in anticipation except for Shellie and the children who she was keeping preoccupied so they wouldn't think about the threat that awaited them.

It was silent outside for the duration of the day but by late afternoon, the heat had started to intensify at a rapid pace. The militants were sweating when one man spoke to the men in his trench: "I haven't heard a single bird in nearly an hour." The others became terrified and said: "We're being watched. Then he got on a CB and said: "Sharpshooters, look out. The enemy is here."

The area was silent, so he placed his helmet on his fist and raised it a little. No response. So he stood up. Nothing happened. He began to casually walk towards the bunker and managed to get inside without anything happening. He began to think that it was just his imagination when he realized that the bird's silence didn't lie. Someone was out there, stocking them and waiting for the right moment to strike.

He ran to Roman and explained what happened. Roman became intense and yelled to everyone: "We're under attack. Prepare for battle!" as he moved throughout the massive bunker. Roman hooked up with Mark and Aria and the three started moving towards the hilltop entrance when all 3 were overwhelmed by the heat outside. Mark said: "They must be using one of those heat-ray weapons."

Roman said: "That's not enough heat to stop a man."

Aria added: "Roman is right, that's the weather."

Roman replied: "It's unbearable! It must be 150f outside right now.

Mark remembered what Ronald told him earlier and said: "I need to get a look outside. I am going on ahead."

....................................

In Jerusalem, the people were gathered at the walls of the city, awaiting the fight that they were expecting. Various attack helicopters shadowed the city as the pilots prayed, nervously awaiting their likely demise. Troops in Mercava and M-1 battle tanks in the city and around it's entrance mirrored the thoughts and actions of the helicopter pilots, praying and awaiting their demise. Men, women and children gathered throughout the city, awaiting battle, praying along with the rest of the fighters, waiting to make this one final stand and fight to the death for their home and way of life.

Josef had ordered that all radio stations and loud speakers throughout the city be directed to broadcast any announcements given by himself. Josef himself stood quietly on top of a rampart where a makeshift command center was established.

As the people stood, awaiting their final stand, they noticed that the weather was getting hotter, and the sky was starting to turn a red spectrum color.

Suddenly, they heard faint boom sounds in the distance and seconds later, artillery shells started hitting near and within the city. The people in the city started taking defensive positions, yet kept their attention on prayer as they now realized that their death was at hand.

The people on the ramparts were now able to see the imperial army with their optics. They were stalling, apparently waiting for an air strike to come. What the Isrialites did not know was that the air strike was suppose to be going on already, but something was keeping the aircraft grounded, therefor the imperials could do nothing more then fire artillery in to the city for the time being.

The heat was now nearly unbearable and the color of the sky was no longer something that could go unnoticed. The clouds were adding to the dark spectrum and lightning strikes were beginning to happen more and more often.

While most people were growing fearful, Josef found a sense of peace in all of this. Somehow, this terrifying phenomenon did not feel like anything he should be afraid of, but something that should be welcomed. Then a notion struck him. He knew what he must do, but it terrified him, for he could easily trigger an uprising against himself by his own people. However, he overcame his fear and worked up the courage to do it.

He got on the speaker and spoke to the inhabitants of the city as they quietly listened:

"My fellow Isrialites, today is they day that the future of Israel shall be decided. Us Jews have been through allot over the years. We were once slaves in Egypt, exiled to Babylon, thrown out of our own land, persecuted in western Europe by the Inquisitions and terrorized by the Nazis. Yet now we are back in our homeland, defending it once again. But this time we do not defend ourselves just from the capture of our homes. We are defending our very existence. The approaching army, who is now close enough to be seen by the naked eye, is coming to annihilate us once and for all. They are a far superior force in every way. We have no hope of winning this fight on our own.

We must now remember our one faithful ally in this fight; the people who have accepted the principals left behind by one of our own: Jesus of Nazareth. Despite the fact that Jesus and some of his disciples have taught and remained true to our values and teachings, we still hold them in contempt. Sadly, we have both suffered and caused suffering by holding on to this notion. Today it must go away. The false Christians who once embraced peagan corruption and persecuted us in the name of Jesus are long gone. The people, their culture and way of life has been erased from the world forever.

The men and women left in this world that follow Christian teaching are NOT our enemies. They are our brothers and sisters, and the only friends we have left. They have stood by our side from the very beginning of this conflict and remain at our side at this deadly hour. They too face the same threat as us. They fight not as our allies, but as our brothers and sisters. They have a genuine love for us, and it is about time we share genuine love with them. We are not a different people any longer. All that is left in the world are us and the enemy who wishes to wipe us from the planet. We must come together as one. Today the titles of Christian and Jew must come to an end, and us all be ONE people."

Then he paused for a moment and suddenly felt relaxed. Whether from the people or the environment, he suddenly felt a sense of joy. He looked behind him to see that the city was continuing to take damage from artillery bombardments. He looked through his binoculars to see that enemy forces were now moving in with vast numbers of tanks and armored carriers. He knew that within a couple hours, the fate of Israel and in deed all of the world would be decided.

He got back to the speaker, took a moment to gather his thoughts, took a deep breath and began to sing: "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord."

Then the men and women around him began to sing the same tune and within only a couple minutes, the entire city could be heard singing that tune: "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord."

Then some of the ground under parts of the city began to tremble and break apart; and out came some Muslims from their underground hiding places. They too were singing: "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord." The local Jews did not care about their appearance and almost seamed happy to see them. All inhabitants, Christian, Jew and Muslim sang together: "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord."

..............................

Back on the western hemisphere, Mark ran to the side entrance to the bunker, opened the first door and then closed it behind him before opening the second door. He was immediately stunned at the sight before him. The sky was dark red and had a spectrum color to it. He was entranced by the sight and began walking forward, having forgotten about the enemy forces in the area. Then he turned around to see the sky over the bunker and was terrified to notice that the moon was visible but had a dark and gloomy red glow to it as result of the spectrum colored sky.

Within a few seconds, Aria and Roman had opened the door to the side entrance and found Mark standing a few feet in front of him, looking at the sky as if he were hypnotized. Roman noticed the color of the sky but also that Mark was standing out in the open in the presence of enemy snipers and yelled: "MARK!" but mark didn't respond. Roman and Aria simultaneously realized that the sharpshooters would have shot Mark already if they planned to, therefor decided to walk out with him and see what had spooked him.

Once they reached Mark, they both turned and looked at the moon and were also stunned at the sight.

By the time they came to their senses, they realized that many of the people in the bunker had come out to see what was going on and were too captured by the sight. None had ever seen the sky or the moon look like that before. George had also come out and noticed a white glow in the sky, cross shaped like the north star but it was much larger, indicating that a large body in space had come very close to earth.

Mark suddenly screamed: "EVERYONE, GET INSIDE NOW!"

Having heard the details of Ronald's conversation with Mark, Roman yelled: "EVERYONE HAS FIVE MINUTES TO BE INSIDE. THEN WE'RE CLOSING THE DOORS AND NOT REOPENING THEM UNTIL THIS IS OVER! GET MOVING!"

Five minutes was far more time then necessary. Within three, all inhabitants were inside the bunker and the doors closed and sealed. Candles were being lit throughout the bunker.

Everyone who witnessed the outside sky was terrified. This was far out of the ordinary and there was no doubt that some sort of havoc was about to be wrecked upon the earth. The people were as secure as they could be, but they knew that they had no understanding of what was about to happen and that meant that there was no guarantee that they were at all safe from whatever would soon take place. Man is a frail creature in the universe and the great forces of the universe were now preparing to devastate the world that they lived in. The people were both spooked and filled with terror. The terror exceeded the threat against life it's self. The entire world was about to be thrashed and they felt helpless to do anything to protect themselves and their loved ones from whatever was about to happen.

Here's some snippets I put together for a few friends.

From Chapter 25: The Battle of Megiddo

Moments later, the team made it to their hideout. It was a cave in the western hills which was high up with a clear view of the soon to be battlefield but it was well hidden. Everyone got out of the vehicle while Loren and Hozo approached the cave with their pistols drawn and pistol mounted flashlights turned on. After a minute, they returned announcing that the cave was clear. Everyone unpacked and moved in to the cave, less Mark and Jeremy, who placed camouflage tarps over the vehicles and tossed sticks and various vegetation over them.

Then Lenard and Loren started to set up the camera. As they were setting it up, Jeff said, "It's about to get very windy." Hozo said, "Why is that?" Jeff replied, "Can't you hear that?" Then a massive boom, so loud as it made the sky seam as if it were indoors made everyone's chests thump. Everyone immediately stopped what they were doing to look towards Tel Megiddo to see a ball of fire erupt from one of the enemy strongholds they saw along the way. The explosion was followed by a rapid series of further explosions that went on for a few minutes and the entire valley of Jezreel had instantly gone from dark and quiet to a massive inferno.

Soon after, Hozo had figured out what Jeff had heard. F-117 and B-2 stealth bombers passed over head and were in rout to Iraq to rearm and refuel.

The area had suddenly gone quiet. After a little while, the silence was interrupted by vague popping sounds in the far distance. Loren said, "Can you hear that? Snipers?" Hozo said, "No, I know that sound. Those are M-1 Battle tanks. The ground campaign has started" Elijah's friend: "Ira" said, "The north is full of trenches. The Americans are going to be facing a serious firefight."

From Chapter 62: Life is Never Lost

Just then, the two noticed that a crowd had formed around them. The people were mostly refugees, but some of the militants were among them.

After a brief pause, George spoke up: "Loren, how do you intend to hold off a military force of that size?"

Loren replied: "I am sad to say that we really have nothing but this bunker and the cover of the woods. Since they will probably be using infrared this time, we probably only have the bunker. Fortunately, we have many provisions inside to hold them off, but I admit that our means are extremely limited. In fact, the honest truth is that our only real hope is for some sort of help to come to us. Without help, I don't see any victory."

George replied: "You DO realize that Israel has their own hands full and is probably in worse shape then we are?"

Loren replied: "Yes I do."

George replied: "So this is where you got us."

Roman took a breath to start speaking but Loren gave him a hand signal to not speak.

Loren replied: "George, I am sorry I failed to do a better job. I gave it my all. Maybe we'd be doing much better had I made my decisions slightly different. That's anyone's guess. But you have been with us throughout most of this conflict. You know who and what I am. If you think I am a monster, evil or negligent, then feel free to beat me here and now. I won't resist nor will I allow others to stop you.

There was a short pause as Loren and George stared at each other.

George gasped and replied: "Loren, you are a good fellow. You have always done the right thing. I wish that we COULD realize this utopia that you are fighting for, but that doesn't change the fact that we are all going to loose our lives now."

Loren replied: "My friend......Life in this world is never lost.....only cut short sometimes. Whether tomorrow or 80 years from now, we are all going to pass on. If our experiences taught me one thing about death, it is that how you die is more important then when. Maybe turning to the world nation will guarantee you a long life, but consider this. When you die an elderly man, you might reflect back on this day and the days that will soon follow. Then you will realize that you abandoned justice and liberty when you were needed most. Innocent people dead, raped and tortured because of your shortcomings, a charge you made towards me the day we first met. You will realize that the life you got in exchange for your failures was not the wonderful life that it sounded like at the time. In fact, you will realize that life in this world entirely cannot offer pleasures worth such failures and the notion of your treachery to the cause you once believed in may leave you to die in a state of misery when your day comes.

On the other hand, like myself and everyone else here, you may die tomorrow fighting for the cause that we have all fought for all these years. If you do, you may die calm and satisfied, knowing that you died doing the right thing.

In any case, you have always been free to abandon this place and you still are. As for me, I have seen you people get tortured and raped already. I'd rather die then see it happen again to you or anyone else, and that's just one of the prices I would have to pay if I were to give in to the nation's temptations."

At that, Loren extended his hand to Roman who grasped it and allowed Loren to help him up and the two walked in to the bunker to begin preparations.

From Chapter 64: The Chastisment

The people in the bunker waited in silence as the heat made it's way in to the deepest parts.

Children were cuddled up in the arms of their parents, many clung tightly to them. Many adults were reflecting back on all of the bad things they had done throughout their lives, praying for pardon and hope for a positive spiritual future.

The bunker began to shake for a moment yet the people were not distracted. It was the most intense time of their lives, and circumstances they never could have imagined before this day. The mental pressure, heat and feeling of the air was taking it's toll on the people. An odd, faint sound could be heard throughout the bunker. Whether real or caused by the people's mental status was not known, but it helped to intensify the situation and people started panicking and becoming confused.

One woman thought she heard the voice of her daughter in the distance and looked near her to see that her daughter was not present. She jumped up screaming: "MY DAUGHTER IS OUTSIDE! MY DAUGHTER IS OUTSIDE!" and started running in the direction she thought she heard her daughters voice come from when Mark and Roman tackled her. Mark said to her: "If you open any doors, you'll kill us all." Then Shellie showed up saying: "Your daughter is fine. She is with my group. I'll go get her for you."

Roman said to the bunker's people in a raised voice: "The doors are off limits. You cannot leave for any reason until this is over. If you open any doors, you will kill us all, including yourself and your children. You MUST stand your ground. We'll get through this. You just have to hang in there."

At that, Mark and Roman decided to guard the areas leading out of the bunker so they could intercept anyone trying to leave.

From Chapter 67: In The End !!!!!!(WARNING: This is the very end of the story. Big spoiler.)!!!!!!

As they entered the village, Aria spoke to the children: "As you learned today, mankind is drawn to do evil, and those seeds are in each and every one of us. Just remember this. Holding strong to your principals is what keeps goodness in the world. When I was your age, there were millions upon millions of people in the world. The vast majority of them embraced their pride. As result, they became hateful, envious, perverse and judgmental. They believed in majority rule rather then natural law, acted according to the wishes of their peers rather then to stand alone for truth and justice. But in the end, every one of them perished, leaving only a dark stain and miserable memory on human history. But those of us who held strong to our principals, fought and defeated our pride, cared for others at least as much as we cared for ourselves, resisted our evil temptations, forgave in our hearts and actions, every wrong doing against ourselves that we were at one time guilty of; managed to barely tread along and in the end, we became the few who were left here to rebuild the world. Remember that always. The path you choose in life will be the measuring rod for who you become and how your life will turn out. So go home to your parents and learn well from them and hold strong to what they teach you."

The children exited the coach at the middle of the village to find their parents waiting for them. The little girl was expecting everyone to crowd around Roman, but in stead they all ran to their own parents, hugged and kissed them and told them that they loved them.

Roman; holding his daughter in his arms, looked at Aria and smiled at her as she stepped out of the coach. Aria smiled back. Roman said: "Aria, we did it right!"

Aria replied: "I know. That's why we are here, entrusted with the future of the world."

Then all of the families hugged each other and enjoyed a community feast and celebration before returning to their homes to live out the remainder of their days in peace and harmony. A peace and harmony that they sacrificed and earned for themselves and for their children. They were a society of joy, beauty and justice who became the world's soul survivors in the end.

The path you choose in life will be the measuring rod for who you become, and how your life will turn out.Truer words were never spoken or written I am a living example of that phrase.I could have been a lot worse than I was but I choose not to.It's easy to do the wrong thing takes a little more effort to do the right thing. My measure is the positives my wife and I have brought to society in my children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. When does the movie come out on this epic? <munch>.Shoot on bro.[this form is not what I ever expected and that is not a bad thing].

This story, more then anything, is meant for educational purposes and an example of how to live a just life and how to deal with unfortunate and stressful circumstances when/if they present themselves. Basically, it's a deep but down to earth look at the struggle between good and evil. While my spiritual views have changed allot during the writing, my morals have not really changed, but only strengthened and the No.1 purpose of the story has always been to present a very logical and active example of good VS evil.

It is also based very much on personal first-hand experience which assists the focus on connecting the reader to the events and giving a sense of how you might feel and react if you were to actually experience the events for real.

As far as a movie, if you're good at paying attention, you might have noticed that this is a 67 chapter story. That's a LONG story. This story also covers the gradual decay and reconstruction of western civilization. A motion picture based on this story would probably be a 15-20 hour mini series and incredibly expensive to make. Probably more expensive then the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy. That's highly unlikely. Especially in an industry that's trying to give off the exact opposite message.

Also keep in mind that the story has some super violent moments as well as a couple rapes. Some of it might be too much for the silver screen. It's like Brave Heart taken to a whole new level.
