98Z5V Posted December 23, 2011 Report Share Posted December 23, 2011 Doesn't the Mega setup capture the rod, at the back? Blind hole, and the rod stops in there, when inserting it from the front? If that's the case, the only way will be removing the handguard, and probably the barrel nut, too - then sliding it out towards the front. soofley Posted December 30, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 30, 2011 there was no c clip. The rod actually just slips in and out with no locking mechanism. I got lucky last and saw the rod sticking out JUST enough for me to use the pliers to pull it out. Been waiting for days to get that cover out.
