soofley
damnit guys it's been 2 two months or so since i finished my 308ar and every night i find myself unable to get a decent sleep at all. I think it's because i keep thinking about assembling another AR.So i plan to build either an AR15 pistola or a 16" 308 upper(to be interchangeable with my current mega build)Lemme know what ya'll thinkmy only concern is the barrel length for pistola. What barrel length do i need for it be considered a pistola. All i know is it can't have butt stockAR Pistola Parts List:UPPER Reciever VLTOR MUR w/FABarrel DD CHF 10.3"Muzzle device BCE 1.0 Handguard DD 9.0 OmegaBCG RA thunderbolt chromeGas Ass Samson enhanced LoPro+tube LOWER Reciever Seekins SP223LPK DPMS Pistol Tube Ass RRA pistola buffer tube assembly?Grip Tango Down308 UPPERReciever Mega monolithBarrel RA 308 ultramatch Muzzle device BABC blackHandguard NABCG DPMS chromeGas Ass Samson enhanced LoPro+tubeprice is almost the same. Team Helotes
A pistol can be any size as long as there is not stock on the buffer tube. I have shot an AR pistol and did not care for it, that being said I do have 3 short uppers and I am working on the 4th to go on my SBR. soofley
so i can just buy all the parts? rainier arm's website says NFA rules applies on the barrels under 14.5 inch. How's it bypassed when i'm building an ARpistola?oh you don't know how i want an SBR but sadly i live in WA. An ARpistola is the closest one am gonna get to an SBR lol
Team Helotes
I think they put that on the website to CYA for them. Call them and ask. There are short barrels on the tables here at the gunshows all the time.
archangel
you can have an ar pistol less than 16" in length but it can't have a vertical grip or a buttstock. if you have those its a SBR and you need a tax stamp. if you make an ar pistol you must register the lower as a pistol lower. not 100% you might check but i heard if you get an angled vertical grip its legal but that was 2-3 years ago when i heard it. things change. i am building an SBR right now. just got my class 3 paperwork just gotta send it it then wait ??? MikedaddyH
Do an AR pistol but be original and use a different caliber. The .223 isn't that impressive and you might be disappointed. Why don't you try a 9mm ,40s&w ,45acp ,6.8spc or a 300blackout.Not sure if the lower has to be registered in WA but it should be marked "ar pistol". It must have a pistol buffer and can not have a vertical grip. Don't go shorter than 8.0" , 8.5" or 10.5" is a nice length. Make sure you get a F/H comp or Brake that throughs the pressure forward. Last :shop around you should be able to build one for under a $1000, $1200 with a chrome BCG.Or buy an upper from Olympic or another company for under $800.I have two in 223, I built one and the other is an Olympic upper.
