NF1E Posted Saturday at 11:54 AM Report Posted Saturday at 11:54 AM I was asked how one can use a cable to clean a bore. First off, the Otis system , I think, is perfection. Each patch has 3 slots and 2 sides so you get 6 pulls through the bore with each patch. The trick with Otis is how the patch is rigged on the end of the cable loop. No need to remove the bolt on most rifles and same with semis. I like to soak the patch with solvent, pull through , let set and run a clean patch or two to finish. If need be one can pull a bore brush through during the process. Cable is inserted from the chamber end and pulled out the muzzle. Works like a champ. The more of the patch you start with through the loop, the tighter the patch will fit the bore. Works fine to dry patch during precision shooting with no need to take a bolt out. Whatta Hobby!
98Z5V Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago This has been out for years and years, man. If you've just discovered this, you've been under a rock. For a long time. Not slamming you, but wondering why you're just announcing very old technology... As some breakthrough discovery....
