IMR 4064

Hey All,

i just inherited a lot of IMR 4064 and was wondering how well it would go with the DPMS .308 AR platform with a 20" barrel? Is this a good powder for AR handloads?

If so any good recipes for 168 HPBT, inherited a whole bunch of those too!

168 gr bullet (I have used Hornady A-max & Nosler moly coated Ballistic Silver Tips)

Winchester cases (full consistent prep)

Remington #9 1/2 LRP (I am going to try with CCI BR-2 and see what happens)

43.5 grains IMR 4064 (a few grains below book max)

With consistent brass prep my chrono showed very low extreme spread with velocity, single digit spread. Accuracy is good and in my 16" barrel velocity averaged about 2500 fps. Chrono'd with the 168 A-Max load.
