MaDuce Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 A funny but unfortunate true story about how coincidence can really ruin someone's day.Robert Heinlein was a famous Sci Fi author who was popular in the 1950s and 1960s. He wrote several famous novels including Stranger in a Strange Land and Starship Troopers. At the start of the cold war, Robert Heinlein; like many Americans was fearful of a nuclear attack from the Soviet Union and believed that the LA area where he lived was a prime target. His solution was to spend a fortune moving to Colorado, where he built a breathtaking home which gave him a breathtaking view of a beautiful mountain in the background.Shortly after settling, the military paid him a visit to inform him that they would be building NORAD in to that mountain (Mt. Cheyenne), making it the No.1 nuclear target in the world.
