starwolf-1 Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 I'm building an Armalite AR10A4 carbine and I'm trying to find a free float handguard for it. The thing is, I don't want a quad rail, as I want it to be light weight and don't want it to be bulky. I do want a full top rail matched up to the receiver, but I want to be able to place small sections of rail just where I need them. I've searched and called everywhere I can think of, and the only option I've found is the JP or VTac handguard. If anyone knows of any others out there, please let me know.Chuck
mrraley Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Check PRI. They usualy have something like what you are looking for.

starwolf-1 Posted November 5, 2010 Author Report Posted November 5, 2010 Thanks for the input. I'm waiting for Apex CMC Machine to release their version for the AR-10. It should be any time now.
imschur Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Armalite has some very unique free float hand guards. Check them out here.
branson1369 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Anyone have of tried the Apex CNC Handguard for either Ar15 or 10?
starwolf-1 Posted December 6, 2010 Author Report Posted December 6, 2010 I've received mine for my AR-10 build, but I haven't started the assembly of the upper yet. And I'm probably going to wait until after the SHOT Show, as I'm going to see what will be new in the world of suppressors pretty soon. The Apex handguard looks great! the gatorback texture feels really good in the hands, and the ability to put rail sections wherever I want them is just what I wanted.
