98Z5V
I like the extended magwell plate they put on that one. I've been thinking about seeing if they'd sell that through the custom shop - just that piece. <dontknow>
imschur
This evening I was comparing the Kimber mag to Ed Brown 8 Pack and a Wilson Combat 8 round. Without a doubt an no surprise the Kimber base plate fit the weapon best. The Wilson and Ed Brown left a gap between the magwell and base pad. It was extra ugly because of the shiny stainless mags. ;D
98Z5V
You can pick those mag base pads up separately, too. Ironically, I just got 3 more of them yesterday, of the Chip McCormick flavor. <thumbsup>EDIT - You talking about the mag lip at the front, and the interface with the cutout at the bottom of the front strap, in the frame? 98Z5V
I don't think Kimber changed the design on the newer ones, but... ;DThe McCormick Shooting Star 8 round mags fit my Desert Warrior the best. Just like a Kimber mag. <thumbsup>
imschur
Midway has some awful reviews of stainless Shooting Star mags. Whats your thoughts? The mags are on sale and Im thinking of grabbing a few. The blue steel looks an awful lot like the Kimber.
98Z5V
I've got a handful of the blued steel ones, but only one stainless one. It's never caused a feeding problem for me, ever, but I can't honestly say that I know how much I rotate it into the mix - just haven't kept track of it. I didn't number it because it's the only one I've got.

Madhouse
I've got several of those shooting star mags, one thing I've noticeed is they have a bump on the follower that seems to catch on a rim now and again.
