TANGO2072 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 OK....So I'm new to attending a "course".I get my fair share of shooting my work AR15, so there's "training".I shoot my AR10 at my leisure but now Im strongly considering w/ converting it ( AR10 ) into a Battle Rifle using it for Carbine courses, namely the MPD.w/ the cost of 308 ammo, would WOLF be "OK" to use ( 147g / grey casing ).so...any insight.thanx
imschur Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 No first hand experience but I have read numerous times to avoid it. I have settled on PRVI Partizan 168gr match as my cheap ammo. Great bang for the buck. Not sure how much of a price difference there is between Prvi and Wolf
imschur Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 ok I looked up the price and damn that Wolf is cheap. All my suggestions are pricier then that.
draco41 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 I have heard horror stories about how wolf with the lacquer coating has a tendency to gum up hot chambers. I have a friend who had it happen to his Ar-15, he had to have a gunsmith run a finish reamer in his chamber to clean it out. Ever since , I will not use wolf in anything I shoot
