  1. Well, just found and purchased an Ops. Inc 12th model for 7.62. It is a single chambered brake. I have one on a 5.56 that works very well. We will see how this works out in a few months.
  2. Well I have built a few AR15 platforms and wanted a .308. Was thinking about a bolt rifle but not many places here to put it out beyond 250yards here in Southern Ca. So I started a few months ago on this build. Since that time I have found Pala Range out to 800yards (go figure). So far Noveske 21" SS barrel 7.62 rifle length gas. 1st purchase which dictated my U/L. JD Machine tech Armalite upper and lower. They do both DPMS and Armalite. H3 buffer and carbine spring/UBR stock, I will see how this works, I may have to get the Slash buffer. Armalite LPK As of now that is it, I am looking for parts and have found a few places that have things from this site which really helps. I need to snag a BCG in the near future and hand guard. I found some SWS handguards that I may go with or I may use LaRue. DD is way back ordered. I may also go Armalite SASS, not sure yet. I am also thinking about the muzzle break to use. OPS inc or Smith Enterprise seem to be leading at this time. Oh well any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks fcr, oh and thanks to spell cheque....
  3. Why ? Is it a legal issue? Here in CA. the ins and outs of legal vs evil is interesting to say the least.
  4. They added it the other day. Their Ar uppers are mostly DD, barrels, BCG, upper receivers. Not sure what parts they are using on their .308's , it is DPMS patterned. riflegear.com
  5. I am looking for an effective muzzle brake, something like the AAC 51T Fast Attach. Surefire has one but I think it overlaps the barrel a few inches, OPS Inc also has a similar design. Smith Enterprise also has their version, not the vortex but the one patterned after their M14 brake. Anyone here have any experience with any of these, or what are you using? I am also considering a Vltor model 302. It is shorter and says it is a compensator vs flash hider. Any input would help. Thanks me
  6. Since you were here first, we will go with you as self, and I will go with me. "Hey me, what do I think"..... sound good ? :o
  7. I am doing my best to muck up the threads here. I am in the midst of fiending for parts as we speak. Learning here and there also, I appreciate your help here. I thought I was "self" and you are "your" ......
  8. Rock Creek www.rockcreekbarrels.com Lilja www.riflebarrels.com I haven't used either, but that is what a few guys have put in the JD builds.
  9. I did find a 14" DD LiteRail for an AR15 platform. I was able to handle an SWS the other day and might go that way. I like their 14" also. I wasn't able to handle that. I also didn't realize Noveske uses them for their applications. On the website they look fragile, not in person they are made very well.
  10. Hello from North County San Diego. I think I got a heads up about here from Calguns.net, can't remember. I am in the midst of a 7.62 build and am finding useful info here. Thanks fcr
  11. So far Nothing from DD. <dontknow>
  12. Bravo Company has a 7.62/Vltor BCM gunfighter now. I am sure many know this but I didn't see it anywhere.
  13. Hope you have more than a push mower..... <laughs>
  14. I have DD and LaRues on my AR15s both great quality. I am leaning towards the LaRue because it comes in a 13"2". That said I was at RifleGear the other day in Costa Mesa and Matt told me he has heard of a 14" DD. I have a 21" barrel that I want to cover up more than 12". I have a message into DD and will give a heads up. I was also talking to PWS about their rail system, I like it and the way it is made. They don't make an AR10 specific Rail but they did recommend DD. Just thought I would throw that out.
  15. Thanks, and no worries !
  16. That is what I said when they handed it to me, they keep 0000 .
  17. Nice build, I have held that same .308 with the Pig break. I bought my lower from them that day, it is one of their Armalite models, they are making the uppers soon according to Rob. I was thinking of the same hand guard for mine, I have a 21" Noveske barrel and want to cover as much barrel as possible maybe the LaRue 13'2". I hope my parts kit fits well, my number is 0001 for my lower.
  18. Thanks for the reply, I found out it was the buffer and spring after posting. I went to the SASS site, I was under the impression that something wouldn't clear. I found UBRs for 199.00 from DSG Arms, OD green.
  19. What is the part to make a UBR compatible, In other words how does it function ? Is it obtainable from Magpul ?
