Not yet, we have to make it just under 2 more years and get someone in the White House that can help Trump the major issues of this once great nation! On another hand I just feel like there s already a lot of info on this site about the 300BLK , but it is scattered around and I would like to see all this great info in an appropriate section.
-
So something like the SI SASS barrel would not have the same issues. I feel like DPMS is is really move there products to fit there products like RR has done. I guess we should be thankful that there are other great manufacturers to turn to.
-
Welcome to the forum, there is good info here and IMO some intelligent folks on here.
-
Is this problematic only to the DPMS SASS barrel, or is this an issue with all SASS barrels?
-
LOL, Yeah what he said. Thats what I was trying to get across.
-
Those are good points. I will be setting it up out in my building. I am fixin to run power out there and insulate and drop in a window unit for the hot days. I would also be using only spent brassfrom my rifles and bought brass. Anyone use these guys http://www.natchezss.com/index.cfm They are 20 minutes from me. Sorry Matt I am not rying to steal your thread. How much powder does it take to load 1000rds of 308 win? I am trying to figure a price on loading a 1000rds Vs buying a 1000. I know inital cost is going to take effect so I am looking at a price on a second load on the brass. Also where do you guys shop for your suppies?
-
A sticky in the reload section would be nice, BUT I would like to see a section for parts and just general info on this rifle. There is already from what I can tell a big and growing market for the 300BLK and in the next year it is going to double.
-
What is the #1 MOST important thing to remember when reloading?
-
Being you still use it you probably dont want to sell it. I like the idea of having to work with each step. I am Xtreamly inclined in the mechanical department, so I dont see me having an issue with the machine. My problems are going to come in just the whole reloading department as I have never been around it. I can and do have a strong ability to learn so I will get it with few pointers and some reading.......I hope anyways.

What weight is conciderd sub and super? I do plan on suppressiong the rife so maybe the pistol may be better, BUT on the other hand I would like to shoot about everything that it would chamber. Life is a trade off rom the time we are born.
-
Anymore thoughts on this.
-
We need a section dedicated to just the 300 's. To help keep information in order. JMO Ok so I am looking at CMMG website and they have a 300BLK barrel in a pistol legnth gas system and carbine legnth. What would a person benefit for the pistol gas system on a 16 inch barrel over the carbine gas system?

http://www.dillonprecision.com/#/content/p/9/pid/23594/catid/1/RL_550B I think this is the one for me to start with. What do you fellas think about it?
-
So give me a recomennded list of what to start with. I have nothing and would need everything to do 308,556,and the 300 for starters then I would move on the my other rifles and handguns. I also would like to get a shotgun loader in the future.
-
I hear ya man. I can gety it in bulk I guess the 220 grain from remington and that would at least give me some shooting and spent brass so I would have to star out right away cutting down the 556 brass.
-
Thanks for the post and I am doing exactly what makes me happy. I am not to worried about reloading right now. Like I said in the future I will probably be doing this. I just want to get through the 2 builds I now have started. I have plenty of rifles , shot guns , and handguns to shot if I get that board. I also have a 10-22 with no scope and can pop a Rabbit at 50 yds running all day long. Again with my RR 556 I can hit .50 MOA at a Hundred yds with factory iron sites. I have done a lot of shooting on my time and the Marine Corps time, I will look into the different reload machines and I will do a hole lot of reading before I start. I will also be doing a lot of questioning about the same subject. Its not something I fully understand but it also not anything I cant do. Matter of fact the only thing so far in life I cant do is advance calculaest.
-
What do you mean " Wait ".........LOL I want t have fun to , and I dont mind buying ammo. It will give me some spent brass anyways.

OK, after a lot of reading in here I am going ahead with my .300 Black Out build. Is there any fatory loads out there yet? I have never done any loading myself o that would be interesting! I may be asking many questions about loading before long.
-
So from what I have read here is that the .300 black out does use a .308 bullet. Is this right? If so it is the ideal build. I do not reload now but I do plan on starting reloading in the future. If it is a 308 bullet then that would save a lot of variants in surplus. I have to finish my dpms build and this new build then I am going to start looking at reloading. I only shoot from time to time, but I would like to have a few 1000 rounds for each rifle. Really I am building these rifles cause I really feel that one day these rifles will not be sold whole or by parts and my kids will need them after I am dead and gone.
-
So what you are saying is the 300 BLK can handle the higher pressure than the 300 fireball. If that is the case That is the one I will be useing.

6132expert replied to DMK's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
Yes, that page does need updated. I got the Troy MFG 13.8 inch and I like it, I like it aalot. It is light weight and fills good in my hand. -
OK guys I am back at, but not with the 308 build. I have started a new build on one of my multi cal lowers. What can yall tell me? I am wanting to know the difference in a .300 ACC Black out and a .300 Fireball? I have already ordered everything with the exception of my barrel, gas block, BCG, and sights from Brownells. I am torn between a .300 and a 7.62x39. Help me decide, and give me some reasons. Thanks Tom
