  1. I do believe that all dpms lowers and SI lower are milled
  2. Well you are taking about a build on the DPMS platform. Your problems are going to be none to many the question what other parts are going to go on the DPMS lower. That is going to determine what problems you have. If you go with cheap parts then yeah expect some quicker than normal wear. If you go with the great parts that are out there then dont expect any problems. Thats not to say there will not be a little fine tuning on the rifle when you have it finished.
  3. I have the same troy mfr rail(13.8 inchs) where did you get the covers?
  4. If my source is right. It will be coming in late summer or sometime in the fall.
  5. When training it is simple foam ear plugs when out in the " real " dirt then nothing at all.
  6. Well I just got 2 Multi cal lowers and I hope its not going to be a problem. I dont know but I really dont think it will here in GA we are simple southern folks. I dont even have to register a handgun or any gun for that matter. We have no private sales laws heck guys set up at the flea market and sale hand guns, shot guns, rifles( ARs and SK/AKs) to just whoever. I feel for you guys with the strict laws.
  7. I am needing a few ( 2 ) triggers. Prefer a 2 stage but just let me know what you have lying around and a price. Thanks
  8. So a mulit cal lower would be ok, or anything else as long as the cal is on the frame or the barrel
  9. Thanks Its probably going to be a few more months. My wife is wantin a beiwer puppy ( 1000.00 ) so I have to put this on hold. I am probably going to go with the Rainer Barrel ( black ). I also want the flip up Diamond sights and haven't really made up my mind on Optics just yet. I have the MAID grip I have to install and I am hoping by this time that SI has there 308 BCG ready , if not then I will be using the Fulton Chrome BCG. Any suggestions on anything else would be helpful as if I never found this sight I would not be as far as I am now. I have learned so much from this sight. I bought a Flash Suppressor bu I don't know what it is and cant find it on the net. I have seen it before but cant find it again. I will post a picture tomarrow and see if anyone can tell me.
  10. Sorry they are not to clear I took them with my wifes Iphone <thumbsup>
  11. Well today was cool. I got both my multi cal reciviers and my SI Gen III upper. This is my first .308 and holding that new upper in my hand that thing is huge compaired to the 556. I am really loving the SI upper it fits so tight to the lower I didnt think I was going to get the pin through, but I did and I put on the Troy quad rail (FF) and I am lovng it. My 11 yr old ask if he could shoot it when it was done and yes he can. He loves shooting and I try to take him as much as time allows. Its all coming together and I am so excited. Keep an eye open in the DPMS section for picture updates.
  12. No, I am asking if they are compatible. I found a guy with a few and I can get them cheap if they are compatible. I'm not really looking for any Mags right now, but just thought that if the M1A Mags would work in my DPMS then I would pick them up cheap and have a few 30 rd Mags. I have not seen any for sale at any sites, so it was hard for me to figure out if they would work, so I figured I would post on here and see what you knowledgeable Dinosaurs knew. <thumbsup> Hope that helps clear the confusion.
  13. If I do get on of the above mentined I will let you guys know how it goes for sure. The reason I was asking is , I was at the flea market Sunday and a guy had a couple 30 308 mags marked M1A. Im sure he will have them next weekend as he sets up there and its not something that wiould sell around here. I can get 2 for 30 , BUT if they are no good to me then Im just spinnin my wheels with no movement.
  14. What is IIRC? The only thing I could find was FAL 30 rd mags. Are they DPMS compatable?
  15. OK, I saw something today at the flee market. Now I have a question. Does anyone know if a 30 rd mag has ever been made? Well I know they was made. The question should be for what, and will they work in my DMPS?
  16. WOW brother that is deep!!! I love it!
  17. As far as the face its just putting camo face paint on the tips of pine needles and brushing it on. Your rifle it is a matter of laying different size graSS blades , straw or whatever on it and lightly spraying then remove nd do agine if another color is disiried. I wouldnt do more than 3 more colors, but spray lightly and evenly each time and let all layers completely dry
  18. I know this is a 308 forum but I just ordered 2 muti cal spikes lowers from aim. Should ship today or Monday. Its time for a 6.8 spec II and a pistol build. I hope my wife is ok with it seeing how I just bought her a new Rugar 380 LCP in the OD ;D
  19. I got to really check out an complete upper last weekend. It was a very nice gas piston upper for around 1300.00
  20. Yes, they are built off the Armalite!! <thumbsup>
  21. Yeah they are. I was like where and they was like do you see and I was like where <lmao>
  22. I wonder if it is going to be the Armalite or DPMS profile. It seems to me that the new companys coming out with .308s are doing the Armalite configuration. <dontknow>
  23. When I was at MCT in Jacksonville I remember an Infantry SSgt showing me how to do face camo with pine straw and it was awsome.
  24. Yes I did do a search and found out that Lothar-Walther,Noveske ,Pac-Nor ,larue and a few of the above mentioned have polygon rifled barrels. I also read that they clean easier give more velosty per same load and last longer. Any info on this?
  25. OK, here is the skinny BRO. They make barrels at any length from 7.5 to 24" in 223,6.5,6.8,and 308 they are a 1-11 twist 5 groove and a polygonal rifling. They make there own blanks also. I priced a 416 SS Black Coated 18" threaded with a spiral fluted design 1-11 twist for 299.00+10.00 shipping. What do you know about the poly rifling??? The guy said he really didn't know how accurate the barrels where compaired to shillens, so I am kinda wondering away already.
