  1. Clean from breech to muzzle. It will save the crown, and pull all that crap away from the action and working moving parts.
  2. Heard from smith enterprise they make two forms of flash suppressors.... anyways is the SASS barrel threaded 5/8 x 24 x .730" or 5/8 x 24 x 635" like smith enterprise says... Surprising if its the latter as i've never heard that they are not "in spec" with the norms.
  3. Quick Q. Will the Giesselle SSA-E trigger (small pin) "drop in" fit without issue with the DPMS LRT lower? I read around you may have to file the bottom of the trigger for it to fit, is this true? Thanks Awesymoto
  4. if they take our 2nd amendment can we take their 1st? What ever happened to America having a d*ck between its legs and not a crack? I bet half those ass hats lobbying for gun control go home, and watch their kid sing to justin beiber, or go to the club, forgetting were at a war with terrorists in Afghanistan. But lawful ownership of firearms ohhhh noooooooo. damn hippies.
  5. to try and put some info in here, i just tapped and set screwed the rear takedown spring. i used a 1/8"th inch long set screw threaded 4-40. The tap fit perfectly without a drill bit needed. cut the same spring as the screw length. locktite and whala!!
  6. ummm... im from MN where hunting season is in the winter. I have taken and fired my rifle many times with a SS barrel in the winter. As have many hunters here up north, with to my knowledge zero issues. If AI uses SS then its good to go in my books, considering the AI AW is meant for arctic conditions. Remember if your in extreme cold, use LAW not CLP!
  7. <laughs> ouch, this happened once to me when inspecting my issue rifle before turn in... stupid armorers wanting every damn bit of carbon out of the rilfe. of course that was an M4 with a smaller and weaker buffer spring.
  8. well my black MIAD came in for my 308 SASS... i've read on the inter-web that it fits up fine without the grip wedge no mods. Well for my rifle..> wrong. the two detent springs were an issue. the front spring (safety lever) fit up fine with the hole, but the 2nd (takedown rear pin) spring did not sit on the tiny ass shelf that the miad has. Solution? Drill out a wee bit of material to create a pocket for the takedown detent spring to sit in. Now it works fine, however just wanted to clear any miss understandings, the MIAD is not a Plug and Play grip, unless i missed something.....
  9. have a LRT 308 and searched around a bit, this is what i found? MOE no, MIAD yes for compatibility w/o Mods?
  10. semper fi, and thank you just love shooting. ;D
  11. how do you like the tango down?
  12. much appreciated, i like how the finger groove is gone on the tango downs, and really don't find the palm shelf grip all that practical unless I'm target shooting... edit after searching like a mofo of just one picture of a 308 DPMS lower, i ripped one off of youtube with my mac. In case any of you had the same questions as I, here is the photo for future reference. tango down
  13. the battle grip, i'm trying to get rid of my sass's palm shelf... I am fairly confident it will work, but was wondering if there are any issues, gaps, etc. I'm not positive but it seems ar15's lowers seem to have tighter tolerances across the board of manufacturers, then say 308 based lowers armalite, dpms, knight, etc...
  14. Was wondering if the Tango Down grip fits well with the DPMS 308 Lower, cant seem to find pics anywhere.
