  1. And I've gone to all PMAGs with windows for the same reasons.
  2. I put the MagPul Carbine Handguards on my DPMS. I was able to put the rail on the bottom, but not the top or sides due to the barrel. Don
  3. Good timing on this question. I am also looking at a Ti-Rant .45
  4. I have the Norgon and the Troy Industries and have used both on an Stag AR-15 in a couple of matches. I am now switching all of my AR pattern rifles over to the Troy. it's much easier to hit with the larger action surface. Both worked on the DPMS LR-308, but the Troy was easier to activate. Don
  5. The only problem with the Magpul handguards iss that I could only puut their rails on the bottom, there wasn't enough room for the side ones. I really like this handguard and will be taking the rails off of my Stag and putting one on it. Don
  6. This is the new toy. Picked it up in AZ two weeks ago and finally got it to the range. Took most of the sighting stuff off of my Stag to play with it, and will replace the stag stuff. From the back: Magpul ACS with the large pad Magpul Single Point Sling Adapter B.A.D.A.S.S Ambi-Safety (going to try the 45 degree one next) Medium Ergo Grip Magpul BUIS (zero-ed to 50m) EOTech G23.FTS Magnifier EOTech 522 (zero-ed to 100m) Magpul Carbine Length Handguard Magpul Short Vertical Grip YHM Gas Block Front Sight What is not showing is the Troy Ambi-Mag Release for us lefties Note the Magpul Magazine, I've got 12 of them I'm thinking of putting everything on top back on the Stag and going with a nice scope and a set of offset irons. Shot over 100 rounds through it today and the shoulder can really tell. Don
  7. And some of it is even at the house.
  8. Not quite firearms, but related. Genghis Khan Quotes about war, peace and reign “If my body dies, let my body die, but do not let my country die.” “The greatest happiness is to scatter your enemy, to drive him before you, to see his cities reduced to ashes, to see those who love him shrouded in tears, and to gather into your bosom his wives and daughters.” “It is not sufficient that I succeed – all others must fail.” “A man’s greatest work is to break his enemies, to drive them before him, to take from them all the things that have been theirs, to hear the weeping of those who cherished them.” “I am the punishment of God…If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.” “One arrow alone can be easily broken but many arrows are indestructible.”
  9. I have an M&P 9mm and I like it. I particularly like the beavertail since I am used to grabbing a gun high in my hand. The Glocks, for me, are painful to shoot since I get pinched by the slide. Could I change my hand positioning if all I had was a Glock - probably. But why - I have a whole safe full of 1911's (and one M&P ;D). My gunsmith did replace the trigger with some parts from Brownell's and it seriously helped the trigger. Don
  10. Works good in my SOCOM, will shoot it this wekend in the DPMS .308
  11. Hey, if you're happy ... Seriously congrats on the new rifle. Don
  12. Sportsman's Warehouse in Tucson had the A3 DPMS Carbine in 16" with Magpul furniture for $999.99 yesterday afternoon.
  13. Anybody running an ambi mag release on a DPMS lower? If so, which one(s) are you using and why do you like it (them)? Which ones have you tried that worked? Didn't work? Don
  14. Completed last week also. Don SFC, US Army Retired 13F4P
  15. I only have 7 LR20's - how far am I behind?
  16. I like the Shotgun Video the best.
  17. Decided to get into the .308 for 3 Gun Heavy Metal. Not willing to compete with the folks running the high capacity 9mm that might make minor, along with their shotguns with a magazine extension that looks more like a breaching standoff, and those little bullet guns with the C-More sticks “a spraying and a praying”. I like the idea of the .308, 870, and 1911. I have a SOCOM but just can't get the magazine changes down to anything that isn't funny to watch. I had the same problem with the M-21 while at Bragg, so it's nothing new. Have talked with my gunsmith about building a multipurpose .308. We're working on the lower right now (DPMS, B.A.D.A.S.S safety, MAGPUL MOE Stock, MAGPUL ASAP Sling Adapter, and Troy Industries Ambidextrous Magazine Release). I'm thinking that I want some sort of aftermarket trigger, but I'm just starting the research on that. I want three complete tops for the project: 12” carbine; 18” LRT-SASS; and a 24” “touch something” We'll get the LRT-SASS top directly from DPMS (or someone else, if cheaper). This will be my competition gun with its 18” barrel and metal sights. Just need to look at the best muzzle break that lives within the rules. We'll pull the 16” barrel off of the existing top and replace it with a 24” fluted bull barrel, vented FFT, bi-pod, and an unknown scope. It will also wear the YHM Phantom QD on the end of the barrel for obvious reasons. The fun will come when we get around to the carbine version. Still need to do more research on all of the laws, but I'll stick an EOTECH, BUIS, light, vertical fore grip, YHM Phantom QD, and maybe some sort of laser. Who knows for sure, but I'll bet it will be really neat to play with. Don
  18. Received an e-mail from Badger Ordnance today - they are working on their .308 charging handles and should have them out in a couple of months. Don
