ALL, I am the one without the hat. The range is call P2K in San Diego CA. It is a 100yrd indoor. The Godzilla sound is their ventalation. Yes my bipod is attached to the gas block and the rifle feels like a .223. -
What do ya'll think?

<laughs> <lmao> <laughs>
-
Jon, nice collection! Glad to see you got it working.
-
Is that a good or bad thing?
-
I took everything out shooting today. WOW!!!!!! My new muzzle brake makes a HUGE difference. Between my heavy buffer and the brake it feels more like a .223. HIGHLY suggest the shark brake to anyone BUT there is a BIG draw back the sound and soot get blown back at you. You will need good hearing protection! http://www.amazon.com/Shark-Muzzle-Device-Crush-Washer/dp/B005EJHSMU/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt

Bigt I wish you luck for a clam day. I have the good fortune to have a 100yrd indoor range here in SD to zero my rig. In fact if everything works out and the mail is on time I will have my new scope and 45 degree irons to zero in next Saturday. There is a 3 gun event that I am getting ready for in November back home in Utah but they only allow one optic thus the irons. I should be done with my rifle for quite some time after everything comes in. I will post some pictures when I get everything on.

Bigt77 awesome looking rifle. How do you like your 45 degree sight?
-
Did you try shrinking the file size? It needs to be smaller than 700kb. Right click on the picture and go to properties to see how big the file is.

Is everyone but Unforgiven afraid to showoff what got? <dontknow>
-
Jon that is correct. Here it is http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=5559/Product/AR-15-BUTTSTOCK-EXTENDER . Lets see some pictures everyone else.
-
Jon you have two options, you can put it on and use a dremel to trim off a 1/4 an inch of the cheek riser or do like I did and add a DPMS stock extender. It is up to you. Also I love it. Unforgiven sweet looking rifle. <thumbsup>

Put up a picture of your rifle with a description. Here is my A4 with; Half Quad, Magpul MBUS Sights, BSA 6-24x40 Mil Dot, UTG Bipod, ambi safety, double picatinny gas block, Shark muzzle brake, SMART foregrip, heavy buffer with spring and a Magpul PRS with DPMS stock extender.
-
I am not the waiting type so when I went into Impact and all they had was a A4 on the wall I took it and have been building mine up ever since. In retrospect I think that I am having more fun building it my way than I would have buying one that was all dressed up already.
-
I have yet to have put any match grade ammo though it but with 1970s 147gr surplus ammo I am shooting a consistant 1.5 MOA.
-
I started with a a4 then added a Half Quad, Magpul MBUS Sights, BSA 6-24x40 Mil Dot, UTG Bipod, ambi safety, heavy buffer with spring and a Magpul PRS with DPMS stock extender. What do you all think?

All of us on this site have come to know and love the 7.62x51/308. This is a video series that shows why the 5.56 was adopted and reiterates its' inherent flaws. They guy puts some strange stuff in it at times but the videos as a whole sure opened my eyes. Watch them and let me know what you think. They are in order. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNdn5HN0FxE&feature=plcp

rock river lar-8 308 FAL 10/20 mags
Spaniky73 replied to Zombie Tested's topic in Rock River Arms LAR-8
The San Diego one is in Del Mar 40 min North of San Diego. Shortens your drive time a little. Also the guy selling them was a small vendor and I do not know his name. BUT the they had about 10 booths selling metal full sized 10 round mags. -

Where are you at in Cali? If you are anywhere near San Diego the last time I went to the gun show (next one is 14&15 July) down here there was a guy selling FAL Pmags that were modified to only hold 10 rounds but he was selling them for almost $40 a piece. For that price you can almost get 2 DSA metal 10s. But if you are looking for a CA legal Poly that is the only one I know of. -
the old magpul mags you had to shave down a section to fit in the LAR8. These look like you don't have to. They run about the same price as the ones made by RRA. I pick them up for $19.99 a piece walking into Impact Guns with no waiting.

Just having fun using 1970s surplus ammo with a cross wind of 3-5 knots it was shooting about a 4"-5" grouping. If we were using match grade on a clam day I am pretty sure we could cut that in half. I have shot a sub 2" grouping with my LAR-8 at 100yds with the same ammo.
-
We took the EBR out on Saturday. Wow is it a smooth firing rifle and for only having a 16" barrel was surprisingly accurate at distance (200dyds+). ALMOST makes me want to change out my LAR-8 for one.
-
Loving my LAR-8. The heavy buffer I picked up from slash solved the issues I was having. Shoots great. With surplus ammo I am shooting a 2" grouping at 100yds.
