DPMS just released the DPMS GII (thats G two ;) ) Everything from the magwell back is standard AR15, apparently including the recoil spring and buffer. It has a new lightweight bolt carrier and a relocated foreword assist.

Previously CMMG had DPMS pattern 308AR lowers that used G3 mags and one that used FAL mags, but now CMMG has seriously cut back on their offerings and they only offer standard DPMS pattern 308AR's now

The magazine release is the same. And for us CA people the Bullet Button is the standard AR-15, too.

Got my BCG in the mail today. I called and paid for my auction on fri morning and the package was here on mon. :) The BCG dropped right in to my Red-X Arms upper. And while the auction sellers name and contact information were kind of confusing, the package shipped from a company called EliteTactical Advantage.

While I too am a WECSOG graduate, I also mangled the A2 FSB on my DPMS LR308 barrel through repeated install/removal (while cutting on the shoulder behind the FSB to try and fit a front handguard cap).

About a month ago I had two 2,100rd "pails' of .22lr loaded in the online cart at the Cabela's website, and then went to sleep. The next day I went to check out at Cabela's and they were sold out. :( A couple days later I saw a post on another website and I jumped on a 5K case of Eley (38gr @.06rd/shipped) from J&GSales, but they also sold out in about a day.

Well, I also posted this question in the 'AR Variants' forum on ARFcom and got this reply; Which sounds very much like HK, but is still somewhat disappointing. ???

They're a freakin' hundred bucks apiece <laughs>, so I'm not going to be buying any, but I was just wondering if they worked with DPMS pattern AR308's? Or if anyone had tried them out?

Got my 308 CAR heavy buffer/spring set-up this week, and I wanted to say DAMN this thing is beautiful! <thumbsup> The machine work and construction are far superior to the regular AR15 rifle/CAR buffers I've ever seen, its almost a shame to hide it away inside the buffer tube.

Like others have posted, I started with .22's. I got my first non-airgun at age 9, the 'family hand-me-down', a Remington 550-1. Still have it. :) The first gun I paid for myself was a Squires-Bingham(Armscor) M-16. My dad had to actually buy it for me. :P Still have it. The first gun I bought for myself after I turned 18 was a Ruger 10/22. Still have it. The first internet gun board I was ever on was at Rockin' Rimfires(the posting forum is long gone) and then on to rimfirecentral.com And a picture of my custom ruger 22/45 mkII.

Well, I'm still a beginner at doing my own pictures, so sorry about their quality. <dontknow> Here is a comparison; the DPMS screw/pin is on the left and the allen wrench it uses, and on the right is the silver dowel pin and set screw from TM and the smaller size allen wrench. The set screw allowed me to set the tension on the spring and adjust how tight I wanted the take down pin to be. The parts arrived today. :) I'll take some comparison pics on the weekend. However, there was also a 'installations tips' sheet and for the bolt catch parts it says "do not test fit it, it may be difficult to get back out" :D

I am scratch building my 308 M4. I started with a DPMS AP-4 barrel, ordered the standard 308 Barrel Nut and Delta ring/spring and c-clamp. Now I'm pre-fitting some MOE handguards and they are not clearing the barrel nut. ??? Now I have no problems cutting on the HG's until they clear where I need them to, but I'm seeing enough others that have or have switched to the MOE's and I'm curious what I'm doing different?

Called them this morning(mon) and they sent out in the mail the "308 AR lower small parts kit", which includes a dowel pin for the bolt catch and a set screw to hold the dowel pin. The kit also has a set screw for the rear take-down pin detente and spring. I figured out during the build that there was another 'issue' with the take-down pin, but I had just taken an extra detente spring and cut it down to fit with enough tension. I am kind of miffed that I didn't notice the threading in the hole for the rear spring in the first place.

- standard rifle receiver extension/buffer tube - 308 buffer - 308 spring I don't know if the PRS stock uses the A2 receiver extension spacer, or if it comes with the buttstock screw.

This makes so much sense, as the DPMS pin/screw is so so far off sized. Thanks so much for the info!!

I'm working on assembling my TM lower and I've finished everything but I've discovered that the bolt release pin/screw from the DPMS 308 LPK does not fit into the hole in the side of the receiver. ??? I mean the "shaft" part won't even fit into the threaded part of the hole in the receiver, there's noway it's going to fit into the smaller diameter 'non-threaded' part of the receiver/bolt catch interface (although it does fit in the pivot hole in the bolt catch). Also, I didn't find any kind of notice about this "issue" on the TM website, only the claim that their "lower receiver is compatible with DPMS platform upper receivers".

The Armalite upper comes with or without the T#'s, but I haven't found a DPMS pattern that does. <dontknow> I did get a repley from Orion-Arms about engraving, which they said they could do but its $$$$

The DPMS doesn't appear to have them, and the upper at Fulton-Armory appears to be a DPMS. So, does anybody know if any company has something? Or will I need to have it done custom engraving? ???
