Sounds normal to me, 16 and 1 with two extra mags....

I keep looking for a DPMS format barrel. I want the bolts to be the same, as a back up for each other.

I did the same thing, and a 18" is fine for hunting with.

Thanks for the input on the burn time, I'm still looking into what I'm going to do. I am looking to go with the shortest / lightest without a SBR stamp. I know Noveske barrels can be used with the DPMS setup, and I can check the headspace, but has anyone had one fail to headspace with a DPMS bolt?

Their web doesn't have them listed, that I can find. How do you like yours?

I'm looking for a short 308 barrel for a MA-Ten build in DPMS format. I'm having trouble finding any, I've seen them in photos, but not for sale. Does anyone know who has them? I'm looking for one that's 14 inch to have a Vortex pined and weld to make it 16 inch....

I agree, and your photo seems to show it. The dust cover plunger should be easy to push in by hand. You can oil, and work it. Should fix it.

From what I understand KAC has this in the bag with the new SR-25. The Army just wanted to see what the rest of the market had to offer. It has a 16' barrel with a rifle length gas system and the Magpul STR stock. The funny thing is, I was working on my MA-Ten build at the same time as KAC was working on the new SR-25 and we came up with almost the same thing.

I have seen an FAL shot MOA, but the cost and finding the right person to do the work, make the AR a much better weapon to start with.
