  1. Well the way the election has gone and how the government is pushing gun control again, he might have a market looking for just such tooling in the near future, if he is interested in making and selling sets of them. That is some really good looking work by the way!!
  2. USMCbassman, Like the others have said, thank you for your service. My son is an Airborne Ranger, stationed in Savanah, GA. I have been curious as to the quality of the DPMS .308's. I had one of their AR-15's a couple of years ago and had all kinds of problems with it. I changed to Rock River Arms and have had nothing but great luck with them. The only reason I have an Armalite AR10 instead of an RRA AR10 is the deal I got on it. I hope your goves you meny thousand rounds of problem free shooting.
  3. Another favorite of mine is my Stainless Delta Gold Cup in 10mm. It is scary accurate.
  4. Built this one from a stripped slide and frame and gave it to my oldest son as a birthday gift for his 30th. I fitted it with a Kart barrel, Wilson Combat fire control parts and grip safety. I stippled the grip in lieu of checkering and added a nice set of Cocobolo grips. The gun is dehorned for carry. He qualified for his CHL with it. Made me a proud Papa!!!
  5. My carry gun...a Wilson Combat Stainless Professional, carried IWB in a Milt Sparks VM2
  6. Simple Remington 150gr Cor-Lokt. Shoots 1/4" MOA at 100yards if I do my part.
  7. I have been hunting since I was 7 years old, and at the deer camps, I have heard some of the funniest hunting stories, but that one gets the Emmy. My wife said that she has heard me laugh, but in 30 years of marriage never like I did fron your story!!! Thank's and Happy New Year.
  8. Thanks to all of you.....y'all are a fun bunch!!! :cookoo:
  9. Thank you Matt and Madhouse. I am a 54 year old, EHS Manager for a very large meat processing facility. Avid hunter and the .308 is my caliber of choice in a rifle. I have three....the Armalite AR10, KelTec RFB & a pre64 model 70 Winchester. I also hunt with handguns. My big game gun is a Ruger stainless Redhawk in .41magnum topped with a 2X Leupold handgun scope. I have a book Spotted Fallow on the wall behind me taken at 87 yards with that gun. Happily married for 30 years and the father of two fine sons and two spoiled grandchildren. I love to fish as much as hunt and living around an hour from the Texas Gulf Coast makes that waaaay to easy to just slip away for a few hours to tie up with some bull Redfishing. I have been a Texas CHL (Concelaed Handgun License) holder since it began in Texas some 15 years ago. I carry 100% of the time where legal and don't go anywhere it is not. I am a big Texan....6'6" and 310lbs.
  10. Long time AR lover from South Central Texas, part time gunsmith and pro gun advocate. I am glad I found a forum dedicated to the AR10. Looking forward to the interaction and hopefully some great information. <thumbsup> tex45acp
  11. Was searching for a forum dedicated to the 308 AR and it was the first to pop up. Looking forward to the interaction and information. Been involved with AR's for 15 years, loved and hunted with the 308 for 2 decades. Getting the right AR in 308 was the next step. I chose the Armalite with the 20" match barrel. I made the right choice!!
