  1. Assuming your avatar is a pic of you shooting... Sit in the cutout portion of the bench if the table is long enough for you to still put the bipod on it. Then you can lean into the side of the bench for more stability. Also this will let you use your support hand to support the base of the stock for better elevation control (may want to use a rear sandbag too) and lock it into your shoulder better. Make sure both elbows are resting on the table and have your weight on them. More points of contact and stability = good.
  2. I'm strongly considering getting a MFT minimalist for my LW build (right now it has my B5 Bravo).
  3. I don't know, looks pretty fun to me.
  4. I'm laughing at how worked up some of you guys got, especially after I gave it away. You n00bs obviously don't spend enough time on the intarwebz =P! Cali_Ed troll skills +5. poop Ed, only .25" MOA? The 40W phased plasma rifle I pre-ordered at Exile Machine can do .1MOA at 2000m! I'll post a video when I get it in 7 years.
  5. Trollololol!
  6. Skip the super stoc. Their reliability and durability was so low that Colt stopped including them with the 6920 (and switched to a magpul stock).
  7. Then you'll definitely want a muzzle brake. A muzzle brake plus properly gassed system takes the .308 recoil down a lot (not that a properly gassed .308 has much recoil anyways). An adjustable gas block should help with this a lot too.
  8. A heavier buffer would definitely help. Sounds like you're very overgassed with the suppressor. You'll want this heavy buffer.
  9. Sounds like you want a 16" or 18" barrel with a mid or lightweight profile. If possible go with a rifle-length gas system (16" w/ rifle gas works just fine on .308s). You may have to have a barrel re-profiled to get what you want (I did with my MWS' barrel). Since you're running suppressed, an adjustable gas block might be good instead of the heaviest buffer you can find, and it'll be lighter weight. Definitely go with an adjustable stock system and use AR-10 pattern parts (longer receiver extension, AR-10 spring, and AR-15 adjustable stock sized buffers). Both of my .308 ARs have VLTOR A5 7-position receiver extensions (same size as AR-10 pattern RE), H3 buffers, and Magpul ACS-L stocks. You're also going to want to reduce the weight in front of the magwell as much as possible for better handling. When I configure my PWS MK216 and LMT MWS to weigh the same, the PWS still noticeably handles better due to less weight out front (the MWS has a thick barrel). The lightest rails for an LR308 I know of are the Midwest Indsutries SS, Samson Evolution, and Fortis Switch. Neither of my .308 ARs needed break in for things to run, but the MWS' BCG is hard chromed and the MK216's is polished from the factory (and glides SUPER smoothly through the upper). A coated BCG probably won't encounter any noticeable break-in effects, nor would a quality one I suspect.
  10. Well that's an important detail! I've seen brass catchers induce stovepipes (tail of brass is caught between BCG and receiver with top of brass sticking out) due to the brass hitting the catcher before it clears the upper receiver completely. I haven't seen the brass bounce back into the upper though (so that it's not partially out of the receiver). Let us know if this happens without the catcher.
  11. Lube won't cause this malfunction. You've had this occur with all mags?
  12. Hrm, if you have another mag, see if the same malfunction happens with it. Double-feeds are usually caused by a bad mag. I assume you've already checked your ejector (with BCG out of the gun seat a spent casing onto the bolt, then let go and watch the brass fly).
  13. So was the empty casing still in the bolt and the next round in the mag on its way up into the chamber? Did this happen with multiple magazines?
  14. Does it strip the next round from the magazine? If not, definitely short stroking and would recommend the lighter buffer. Bipod loading is when you apply forward pressure on the bipod so that it has tension with the surface it's resting on. You can do this by getting the feet of the bipod firmly planted on the surface they're on and then slightly leaning into the gun. This prevents movement due to imbalance, and other external factors, and helps make you more stable. Once you see how much more stable you are loading a bipod, you'll never want to use sandbag rests again.
  15. Failure to eject? It was extracting the spent case from the chamber, but not ejecting it? If so, that could be short stroking and you might want to try a lighter buffer. Do you load your bipod? That will help mitigate cant.
  16. I don't know of any aftermarket handguards for the G2 yet, but Midwest Industries and Samson make rails for it.
  17. A gas leak most certainly can cause cycling issues. Also, you really should dimple your barrel and use loctite on the set (or clamp) screws. That'll prevent the block from moving.
  18. I brought up the same thing. Ed said that he didn't have his Fortis Switch QD rail clamped on during that photo.
  19. Excellent scope! I love mine.
  20. I've got a good condition VLTOR E-Mod stock for milspec receiver extension for sale. This stock has seen light use and is clean. It comes with the original packaging and I also included a washer in there, which will keep the screw and nut that hold the side compartments taught if you decide to only use one storage tube. Price: $85 shipped.
  21. Lube up BCG very well, shoot a bunch of rounds, smile, and then drink beer.
  22. As always, I recommend an AR-10 pattern buffer system. Look for a rifle-length gas system if doing an 18" barrel. The SLR Sentry adjustable gas blocks seem to be the top pick now.
  23. Airsoft works pretty well too.
