  1. Which mounts are these? Are these one-piece mounts like LaRue/ADM/Bobro or separate rings? Personally, I needed a bit lower mounts to be comfortable behind my .308 ARs. I had my Mk6 mounted in an LT104, but switched to an LT120 and am more comfortable. On my MWS I put my March-F in LT123 rings. Since you already have other scopes mounted in LaRue mounts, test those out on your .308 and see if you're comfortable or if you need a lower mount.
  2. What's the weight?
  3. And quite a steal at less than $1 round for the Remington match ammo.
  4. Why do they mount the rear sight in front of the RDS on their page? Does the mag seat with the bolt locked back? If you have a level make sure the gun is resting level. Take off the globe sight then see if you can rest the level on the front sight post. Adjust till level.
  5. Sounds like a mag problem to me. If the magazine is feeding the next round before the first has been completely ejected you may want to check the magazine feed lips.
  6. Since it's AR-10 pattern you'll have to use an AR-15 carbine heavy buffer.
  7. You can also grab the PWS Enhanced Buffer Tube for .308s (uses AR-10 pattern spring and buffer). It has a "dead-blow buffer" (piece of dampening material) at the end that softens the recoil a bit.
  8. Congrats man!
  9. The mag well has different dimensions. I also doubt the receiver extension would hold up.
  10. If that's indeed an official "PTS" PRS then it's not a knockoff. Magpul PTS products are licensed by Magpul for the airsoft market. They are made it China though.
  11. The Midwest Industries DPMS pattern free float tubes fit the M&P 10.
  12. The Brownell's one is cheaper, but it's much more difficult to use. The Geissele and KAC wrenches mount the barrel extension wrench in the vise (allowing for both horizontal and vertical positions) while the Brownell's one requires that you mount the barrel nut wrench in the vise and forces you to only use the vertical orientation. You're also going to run into compatibility issues with the Brownell's wrench since many of the proprietary barrel nut wrenches were designed to go onto the torque wrench and don't have enough material to be mounted in a vise. The upper receiver blocks that cause all the horror stories are the ones that support the upper receiver by the pins. Not good.
  13. FWIW, that stock is made by a company started by the same guy who founded DPMS. Aside from that I don't know much about the actual stock. I'd hold off and let other people be the guinea pigs.
  14. The KAC Barrel Extension Wrench is the best option IMO. I have one and have used it a bunch. Much cheaper than the Geissele too.
  15. I purchased a March-F 1-8x24mm. Anxiously awaiting its arrival. I haven't shot my MWS for accuracy since I've been needing an optic for it. I'm pretty disappointed that I read so many great things about USO products and especially their customer service to be treated like they didn't give a poop.
  16. I want a Gen II, but I don't want to have to register it.
  17. You can cerakote them. My MWS barrel is cerakoted.
  18. Well it looks like this exercise is finally winding down to a close. After getting a bad replacement scope I decided that I don't want to deal with US Optics anymore and would rather just return the SR-8 and buy something else. I called US Optics the other day and spoke with Ashot, who was MUCH better than the people I had previously spoke with. Instead of acting like he was trying to stonewall me like the others had, he actually tried to find out information for my request to return. I asked him if US Optics would take the return directly since the scope would have to come back to them anyways if I returned it to the dealer. Unfortunately I would have to return the scope to the dealer per their policy. Initially when I called, Ashot told me that I would want to speak with Arnold on my case since he was the person that had diagnosed/rebuilt my scope. Arnold was the person I assumed was a technician, who claimed to have tried to call me on 4/14 (but wasn't in my call logs and didn't leave a message). I told Ashot that I wasn't comfortable taking that route as reaching Arnold had been very difficult in the past. Ashot mentioned that that was true and that Arnold was in fact the owner of the company. At that point I was thinking, "HOLD ON, WHAT? THE FRIGGING OWNER OF THE COMPANY SENT ME A PIECE OF GARBAGE AS A REPLACEMENT???" Holy cow, I couldn't believe the man at the top showed such a lack of due diligence in fixing their mistake. In fact, it appeared to me as if he just did a quick check of the scope after rebuilding it. When I looked through the replacement at a target within 25yds everything looks good, however if you look at something beyond 50yds away the flaws are very apparent. Considering in my original email I detailed looking at objects 50 and 100yds away they should've validated those conditions. Yesterday I shipped the scope off to Eurooptic for return. They have been very responsive and helpful, and I would definitely recommend them.
  19. March-F 1-8x24mm scope with FMC-2 reticle on the way to replace that awful US Optics SR-8.
  20. "Abbra Kadabra" *POOF!* Aw poop, another rabbit... Sorry, I'm having an off day.
  21. From what I saw on DPMS' website it's a set screw gas block. Gas blocks that are pinned have a pin that goes from the 3 to 6 o'clock position at the bottom of the block. Set screw blocks have a (or two) set screws at the 6 o'clock position which go into the barrel. The hole just below the rail is for the roll pin that holds the gas tube in place. The front of the gas tube has a hole in it that you align with that hole on the gas block and then drive a roll pin through.
  22. I bought my HSM M118LR Equivalent from Sniper Central. It shot sub MOA out of my PWS. .308 175gr 7.62x51 175gr "M118LR Equilvalent"
  23. The best way I can describe it is to think of it like a digital camera. Most cameras exposure buttons are 2-stage. It lets you press the button down halfway, which sets the auto focus, and then the 2nd click takes the picture. Of course if you're in a rush you can press harder and go through both stages in one push, but you don't get quite as fine and controllable of a press and picture.
  24. Not sure what your budget is, but it's hard to beat an Aimpoint Micro...
