  1. Yup I know all about that.. I pass through Pendelton, SC on my way to work everyday. If fact on my way home today the county swat team had dogs out searching for another home invasion suspect.
  2. PSA has 308pmags in stock weekend sale 18.99 each. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/magpul-20rd-308-pmag-black-mag243-blk.html
  3. I learned to shoot the Garand when I was 12. Never been bit either. Dad taught us the correct way to load and unload it. ;) It takes some getting used to the garand rifle. The more you handle it you will know when the bolt is locked back by feel and sound. It is a great rifle.. but back on topic.. The wood grips are awesome. I wish we could still get the fine craftsmanship.
  4. Thanks for the welcome guys. Dad taught me and my brothers to shoot with that 1911. Its amazing how well made the pistol still operates and how smooth the action is. I bet we have fired thousands of rounds out of that 1911. Dad used to shoot competative with the local gun club and nationaly at NRA matches. Rapid fire pistol and service rifle. He was also very active with the NRA. It saddens me that dad is no longer with us and I do miss him. I have dads M1 Garand and 1911 and my Granddads 1903 Springfield. I wanted to keep the tradition of keeping our service rifles, but the Army made me turn in my M16 when I left. Dad had another 1911 and a SW model 52-1 for competition.
  5. Just wanted to add my dad's old service pistol. It is a original colt 1911 that was manufactored by colt in 1919 for the US Army.
  6. AATV Riding. I have a 2000 Argo Conquest 8x8 amphibian atv and a 1984 Hustler 980 Bigfoot 6x6 amphibian atv. I enjoy going out with my wife and two daughters riding at mud parks. I enjoy shooting. I grew up going out with my dad to his NRA matches. Dad had a wall full of trophies. Rapid fire pistol and service rifle. He used to teach rifle marksmanship. And I briefly followed suit and taught rifle marksmanship when I was 19 before joining the army. If you guys are interested you can check out the 6x6world Youtube videos of different AATVs. Just look for 6x6world.com on the web.
  7. Been lurking arround and learning. I inherited my dad's M1 and have enjoyed shooting it. Wanted something better to go pig hunting. I was in the Army and carried an M60, 16 years ago. Wanted something better then just an AR in 5.56. Found a New Sig716 Patrol a few months ago on the cheap. It was missing the magazine and dealer accepted my low ball offer. This site helped me out. Was able to get some 20LR PMAGS from Bayou Tactical before he sold out. Sofar, I have sent about 200rds down range. Looking to going back out to range this weekend with some friends and send more lead down range.
