    It's actual flow, based on simplified, but real CFD (computational fluid dynamics). Just like the stress analysis in SW, the flow analysis is also a "light" version.

    The standard size detent hole is actually oversized for a 4-40 screw so tapping is easy (you're looking at 50% thread, maybe a little less). Ace Hardware and True Value - easiest places to find fasteners in a pinch.

    Yep, we tap and thread all our lowers when we make them, and put in a 4-40 x 1/8" long set screw to hold the spring in. Any tap will work. It's soft aluminum, but always take your time and do it a little at a time (start the tap, back it out, tap it further by one turn at most, back it out.... repeat until you have around 1/4" of good thread.)

    Those FA uppers look like milled out DPMS "target" uppers.

    This. Especially if it's subsonic since the bullets will be spinning slower for any given speed. You'll end up keyholeing with a long projectile if it doesn't stabilize properly.

    With a typical 1:10 twist .308 barrel, you may not be able to stabilize those heavy projectiles.

    Vortex Viper PST or the HS-LR. Available in MRAD (i.e. mils) or MOA FFP reticles. Only difference between the models is the illuminated reticle on the PST.
