  1. Syrac adjustable gas blocks are awesome. I have mine turned down and it dumps brass in a pile at 2 o'clock.
  2. Amen Blacksheep. Two words not to be said in the same sentence LR308 and cheap. I figure they are about 3x the cost of AR15
  3. Blackhole Weaponry can make the barrel you are looking for. 24" 308B Standard Profile Rifle Length Gas System .750 Gas Block - 1x11 Twist - Finish Black with Machine Fluting - Fluting Location In Front of Gas Block - Fluting Type Straight - Thread Option Threads $399
  4. Mega makes a them sans FA for both AR 15 and LR 308
  5. Tax return the head bottle washer gets that to paint the house and put in a new garage door. My yearly bonus she knows not of. Paying off a few bills but also going to Silencer shop to get my can.
  6. On the MI tang refers to the height of the top rail on the upper. And MI comes with 3 rails to start with and can add more later.
  7. worked much better now and has positive engagement when it's on safe and fire positions thanks for the heads up
  8. Ok BAD ASS replacement center received (quick shipping btw) and it's great. Photos coming this week.
  9. didn't tell her the total cost I ain't stupid
  10. Called BAD and the guy I talked to asked me allot of questions. Glad I know something about rifles. Even had me put it in my forged AR15 and it was tighter in that than my billet gun. Sending me another center section will see. On a positive note shot it yesterday NO FTF or hickups at all. Ran very smooth. Had the block turned down and it was dumping brass at my 2 o'clock. Very happy with how it shot. My son shot it and said it recoiled more than my 12# bolt gun in the same caliber. I don't think so but then again he may be jealous. Will get the photos up soon. Different grip with no palm swell being put on today and hopefully my replacement center section for my BAD ASS will be here.
  11. Well the BAD ASS selector is being removed appears to be a lil too tight and hard to move. Put a normal selector in and it works great. Also replacing the ERGO palm rest grip.
  12. will get the pics up as soon as I get get the photographer motivated
  13. Well as we all know this one takes a bit more to feed. No spray and pray for this one.
  14. I went down that road with the AR15 stuff and wound up with a forged mega upper/lower as my favorite. This is replacing my bolt gun and hopefully will get a can for it in the near future.
  15. I dunno 98 this one has pretty much everything I want.
  16. I have a set of E A R custom ear plugs. Huh what did you say? Pisses her off when I wear them around the house.
  17. Hey Y'all I live in Round Rock but own property in Colorado County south of Frelsburg and have a full time range set up there but for formal shooting we have Eagle Peak in Leander (sister range to Garland) 100 & 200 but no fmj and we have Best of the West in Liberty Hill that goes to 1000.
  18. No thanks I don't want to hear her when she can't hear. Dogs in 3 counties over will be howling.
  19. Anyone that's thinking to build an LR 308 is the same is process as a AR15 is mistaken. Not as many mfg and looking at 3x the cost to build one. Yes there are some out there off the shelf for $1k but really if you are dropping hard earned coin do you want someone else's idea of the perfect rifle or do you build your own. I have built 25 AR15 type rifles over the last few years and got to be pretty good at sourcing parts and knowing what worked best. All that went out the window when I started my LR 308 build. First find out what platform you want to follow. There's no milspec in LR 308 designs. So I started by calling Jason @ Mega and he told me which parts would probably work the best for my build. So here it is: Mega Billet matched ambi upper/lower Black Hole 18" Std profile barrel Mid length gas Mid West Ind 12" forend with .215 tang Rubber City Armory BCG with bolt. Seekins mag release button Geissele G2S fire control (My first Geissele not my last for sure) Magpul CTR buttstock Larue Risr (Cheek piece that fits on CTR and allows the charging handle to move) DPMS buffer tube DPMS .308 carbine buffer with spring Syrac Ordnance Click-Adjustable Gas Block (fits nicely inside the MWI forend) DPMS mid length gas tube BAD ASS selector Falcon Grip American Defense Recon mount Vortex Viper HS 4x16-50 Yankee Hill Flashhider Told the boss lady my budget was $1,800 and once I got my hearing back I got the thumbs up. Forgot to tell her final tally was $2,500 (with shipping of all items incl). Sold two guns plus some OT to pay for this beast. Haven't shot it yet but hope to this weekend. Will post pictures once I get the good ones done. Boss lady is a photographer so including her took off some heat.
  20. yeah that's Ice Tea's wife that's now returning to the adult film industry.
  21. It's the DPMS Carbine 308 buffer and just a std Yankee hill muzzle device. I checked the specs the Syrac is supposed to fit. I'll know in a few days when the barrel and GB get here.

    My MaTen

I have built 25 different AR15s over the last couple years. Billet and forged both. I build one shoot it someone sees it and buys it. Then to build the next one. Last one I built my son confiscated it and I thought I don't need an AR anymore I have my .308 bolt gun. As I am sitting in the deer stand last year shooting feral hogs around brush I would shoot one and no chance of a 2nd shot. I thought I'm going to build myself a .308 AR. I always wanted one but never built one. So I started on one. It consist of the following: Mega Upper/Lower Magpul CTR with LaRue Risr Midwest Ind 12" forend Geissele G2s trigger BAD Selector DPMS 308 buffer and spring Syrac Ordnance ADJ Gas Block Black Hole 18" STD Profile with Midlength gas system. Rubber City Armory BCG Any pros or cons to what I am going to assemble? Thx
  23. Had a lifeproof and it leaked dust into it. Returned. Had Otterbox and it's ok. Just put my made in the USA Magpul on.
