  1. Blue - Your comments are valid and justified and welcome for discussion.
  2. Greenmist - no need to lock the thread. I was wrong to get off topic. Zebra - Believe me if the chief would send me to a warmer place to train I would gladly come. You have my number in my PM back, I could explain further. Also in my initial post I stated that the helmet cam officier would be reliving it for the rest of his life only to point out we are all human we all make mistakes and we take them home with us and live with them for our entire lives. It is a cross we bear that no one else see's.
  3. 5V= yes prior military 3 years US Army active duty 8 years reserves and NG, last 15 years working as contractor and now living the good quiet life in a nice Fire Department. Zebra - I teach officer's CQC, why because I am really good at one thing CQC. You are welcome to come train anytime with me or my officer's. . Most of my CQC contacts where as real as it gets. Why don't you PM me with a phone number and we will sort it all out.
  4. False call I am back to discuss. Will be here all night til shift change at 7am. Not being argumentative just saying follow your use of force policy and let the lawyers do there job. Oh and trying to dispel the rumor that tazers don't work when properly employed.
  5. 98Z5V- I have been around and used flash bangs for twenty years ( so close I have got nose bleeds in training ) Never count on a flash bang to do anything other than piss off and motivate and maybe give you 1 second of lead time. I have seen people that have never been exposed to the report of a flash bang just stand there and do nothing as if dazed. In this case I see it of little use in how I would handle this guy. Just saying it not worth all the comments. Assume everyone you come in contact with in this setting is UTI until proven otherwise. Zebra- Yes to question 1, never kept stats , but have never lost. As for the tazer, I have seen plenty of poor shots that resulted in only one barb catching them, and not effectively putting them down. We always have multiple tazers out as well and side arms and perhaps a sergeant with either a shotgun or patrol rifle. I have never seen a tazer properly employed fail to take down even the most hopped up crack head. Heminut- As to the training video all I got to say is he must be one tough SOB. I am 6'1" and 265lbs my lifts are close to 4,6 and 7 and when I was tazed I went down like a ton of bricks and there was plenty of money on the table to motivate me to do otherwise. The outfit that came in and trained our department trains hundreds of officer's a year and the instructors have trained thousands and they have never seen anyone take more than 1 balanced step after being properly tazed. Again I come back to poor shot placement everybody does it that's why you need to employ 2 or 3 tazers. Heminut - Didn't realize that tazers had been attempted prior to the video, but if that's the case why did the officiers give ground to the suspect and back off for the video because in the video unless your a expert with a tazer you haven't got a prayer of hitting that guy from that range. The guy with the dog was the only one close and he's got the dog to control, so hes out. And heminut I am not a LEO and never have been but teach and train with both military and LEO for twenty years. Would to love and chat but I got a call to go on now.
  6. Always used Federal Premium 180Gr Nosler Partition, good for 1 MOA out to 4-500m out of my LAR-8. These shot so good out of my rifle I used them in a match last year. The down side is the wind will really push them around a lot.
  7. Not sure what to think about all the comments about how he reacted to a flash bang, BFD its a flash bang (Oooo hes drunk or high big surprise). Next point I guess they have really lax use of force policies in NM, just follow the MF policy and everybody goes home. My point, tazer the sucker. Have never seen it fail in 50 or so encounters. Its all about following the procedures your department has in place and practice, practice and you guessed it practice. OH well officer helmet cam will be able to critique himself every night just before nodding off, and some nights it will cause him to break out in a cold sweat and not sleep at all. Maybe he will change it when he gets his hand at the wheel.
  8. Micro- I thought the same but the in a 3-gun type course of fire the brace for me tightened up the groups and reduced my times by almost half. Its not that I couldn't go with a tensioned sling, it just took me a heck of a lot longer.
  9. Wasa yupper but decided to join the fudge sucking trolls from under DA bridge
  10. They did mention the TALOS suit a little bit but the majority of the article was about the new SOF and SOCOMS role change as the war spins down. Sounds like SOCOM is clearly planning ahead which is a good thing because in the senate budget meetings no one else is. It would be nice for once for SOF (operational capabilities) to remain intact after a war rather than being disassembled and shelved as they have been in the past. This would save us time and lives in the next war. Also there are current unclassified studies done with real soldiers about the TALOS suit out on the internet right now, and I won't spoil the ending for U.
  11. UHH I just remembered I haven't cleaned my bike yet from the summer. I to have the rapid shifters on my Jekyll. I just don't like the feel of the grip shifter when riding hard.
  12. Unforgiven- The Michigan DNR has many dubious practices one is making rash unsubstantiated claims. There department shows very poor top level leadership. They make rules packed with emotions rather than good science. The number they mentioned is pure speculation on there part. You will see when they went to the inspected properties they found no (zero, nada) hogs. In Michigan we probably have more cougars and wolves than we do have hogs and the hog we do have are escapees from a hunt club. A couple of years ago a lucky husband and wife bagged 3-4 of them on there property over on the west side of the state, that's the last time I know of where and when they have been taken. Every November 15 we have close to three quarters of a million hunters take to the woods, the first couple days you can't go anywhere in Michigan without spotting hunter orange behind the fencerows.
  13. The CB line was the flagship of Hondas lineup for many years, they say when the CB 750 hit the streets it set of the arms race between the major manufactures that culminated in the Hayabusa of 2004 I think after that they started to limit the top end speed of all the bikes. Looking at your new bike brings back a lot of memories. It is really nicely done. My first bike was a Honda CBX with the inline 6.
  14. Feral hogs are not a problem up here. We got guys lined up a million deep waiting for a crack at em. Seriously until they (states affected) open there lands to removal of them, they will be a problem. I continue to hear various stories about this farmer or that farmer having problems down south , but when you call and ask when you can help them out they always say the same thing they want so much per head to take them off there land . Well it can't be to bad if they would rather keep them than give them away. I say good luck with that. I don't think any of the states up here will have a problem with feral hogs. the bears ,bobcat, wolves, cougars and coyotes get pretty hungry in the winter. Can't imagine the pigs making much headway in 24" deep snow, the predators would tear them up. I have seen footage of what the northern pack in our state did to the elk in the area toward the end of winter last year . They where just killing them one after another in a frenzy. A pig would be like Famous Rays on four legs.
