  1. I'm lookin for a QD unit because I want to be able to switch the suppressor between rifles. .300 when it is at home,.308 when I'm hunting, both of those along with .556 and 6.8 when I'm at the range.
  2. Sounds like a good hunt. That fallow doe is going to taste really good on the BBQ!
  3. Thanks for the heads up on the Stag parts. Now have an Upper and BCG ordered. I am itching to pull the trigger on a can. Any recommendations on a dealer?
  4. Safari style hunting is hunting from the back of a truck. Really nice, comfortable chair, ice chest full of your favorite beverage, drive around and when you see what you want BAM. Lots of fun.
  5. Even if it isn't viable, all three of them will pour money into it.
  6. Sounds like I need to get off my a$$ and pull the trigger on a can and my sbr!
  7. How does the balance feel? Also, does the barrel extension have to be different for left hand?
  8. Rsquared, I'm looking at a 10.5" barrel or there abouts. How does it feel with the SDN-6? How do you like the that can? That is one of the cans on my short list. Thanks for the heads up on the Stag stuff. I need to go place my order.
  9. Thanks, I had not heard anything and I figured that would be big news.
  10. I had someone tell me today that the rules for NFA trusts are changing. That as of June 1, you will have to go to your local LEO and get the same signatures as a private transfer. Has anyone else heard this?
  11. Good to know. That could be a rude awakening to get a face full of hot brass.
  12. Thanks for the info. Headed to the gun show today to look for parts. Unfortunately, I'm a lefty. That's why I will never buy a slick side upper.
  13. I want to build an SBR in 300 Blackout. I'm going to build the lower and build the upper once I have the stamp. What's different from a standard carbine? Heavier buffer?
  14. They can get expensive if your shooting for horns. Does for meat are usually pretty reasonable.. Wash, they all eat good. Sika, Axis, Fallow, Black Buck, they are all really great tasting game. I would take any of them over white tail any day of the week. The great thing about exotics is there are no rules. They are not native species so there are no regulations on hunting them.
  15. Thanks for the insight. I always tap the powder measure to make sure it fills and clears. Powder loads are pretty consistent, it's just the AOL that seems to vary.
  16. Wash, your a lucky guy. You know, there are lots of exotics down in that area too.
  17. Got these in the mail a couple of days ago.
  18. I found that the best way to get in touch with Shadow Ops is through their facebook page. I really like my lower, but it took awhile to get.
  19. Took awhile but here is the press. It is in good shape but maybe being a turret press instead of a single stage gives it too much play.
  20. We are in Blk 1 Section 37 just north of you. Looks like I need to take a road trip.
  21. Do you have the mineral rights also? That area is heating up for oil again. Hey, i just took a good look for at your maps. Your land is a stones throw away from land my wife's family owns. I have never been out there but if there is wildlife, I need to go.
  22. Wow. That is great information! Thanks! Yea, I wondered how it would cycle.
  23. Has anyone tried this ammo? I have seen it at my LGS and on line. I just wonder how it performs function and ballistic wise? Is it an alternative to 300 blk?
  24. I guess if you are getting .015, then I may not be as bad off as I thought. I will get the die set and the next round will be off several thousandths. Right now I am reloading 7mm Rem Mag with 139 grn Hornady GMX and .308 Winchester with Nosler 180 grn E-Tip using RCBS dies. I am on a lead free kick. I will add photos tonight when I get home.
  25. I've been reloading rifle ammo with an Old Lyman Spar-T press that I bought along time ago. The press is in good shape but I am getting very inconsistent results in COAL. I'm thinking that it just has too much play. Looking for suggestions on a new press. Do the progressives meter out powder accurately enough for rifle rounds? Thanks in advance for your input.
