About 6 months ago I finished assembling an ar-15 and was test firing it at the range when I had the pleasure of firing an lr-308. Wow so I started researching different 308s and decided to go with dpms. so after 6 months of research and ordering parts. This afternoon my son and I test fired 60 rounds . three kinds of ammo. And all 60 ran flawless. I rapid fired ten rounds then my son rapid fired ten. We were having so much fun we were laughing. Thank you 308ar.com forum members for the help and information I needed for this Assembly. You guys are awesome.

Dpms .308 lower. Ace skeleton stock. Rifle length buffer tube. Dpms .308 buffer. 2 j.p. buffer springs 1 for .556. And 1 for .308 and oh yeah I've got a Yankee Hill gas block coming also

It was a set screw adjustable gas block. When I originally put it on. I had set score half way in like the directions said. After backing all the way out and still short stroking I removed gas block. Locktited the set screw open and checked for blockage. Then I reinstalled double checkeng alignment with mic. And blowing through tube with hose. Still short stroking.

It was a new part . now its headed to the landfill

A few months ago I assembled my second complete ar 15 . it was my first rifle length build . I bought an adjustable gas block off eBay. I paid 30.00 for it too good to be true. The only cartridge I could get to run smooth was American Eagle .556. Virtually very other cartridge would short stroke. I removed gas block and rechecked placement twice. I even blew through a tube while placing gas block. I ran carbine buffer Assemblies. And Rifle length. Still no change. I bought a new BCG no change. I fired 500 rounds for break in . no change. So finally I bought a Yankee hill clamp on gas block. Holy cow . my ar finally woke up. Now it shoots anything I feed through it.I didn't mind buying new parts because that gives me spare parts for my next build. But I do hate throwing a part in the trash where it belongs. So Stay Away From The Cheap EBay Adjustable Gas Blocks.

Sorry bout the reposts I'm still learning I just wanted to chime in n let everyone know that viper is no longer making their lowers with the removable bolt on magwell. When I tried to order a lower they told me that they are now one piece

(Update) still waiting on refund. I ordered a dpms lower. I already ordered the lr-308 a3 upper (low profile) and the rail I ordered has the low profile also. Once the lower arrives I'll have all the parts for assembly. I'll take pictures and update you guys with the before and Finished assembly. Dpms upper n lower. Mega arms 18" barrel. 15" freefloat quad rail ( removable rails)

Has anyone used mega arms 18" barrel. I bought one on sale. Its rated at sub 1" moa. I plan on shooting 1000 yds. And I also would like suggestions on a good low priced optics. If there is such a thing.

OK they emailed me back finally and agreed that I've been more than patient. And also agreed to refund my money soon. I hope they do. I already have a dpms upper receiver. So I'll probably stick with dpms on the lower. Thanx for you're input and help

Viper emailed me back. They are refunding my money. After reading their email it sounds like they are a small shop that's struggling a little bit. It stinks the wat it turned out I feel bad for them because they have some neet product. But I have every piece besides a lower to assemble my 308 and the lower was the first part I ordered. Time to move on and buy the proven dpms.

Thanx for your input guys you pretty much confirmed what I am thinking. I'm working on a refund. And I'm ordering a dpms lower. I guess I've learned the hard way from the get go that there's no substitute for dpms

Has anyone even seen a viper defense 100% serialized lower in person. (Tacticalriflesar15.com) I'm having problems receiving order placed and paid for over a month ago.for an item that says and has said all along on their website that it ships in 3-7 days. Originally they were saying it wsd stuck in anodizing Now they won't return calls or Email.

Now they won't return my calls or email. I could only find one review(after ordering) guy had to get his money back after a month

I'm kinda new to the technology so I don't know how to link. I'm a former marine who loves to shoot. I've assembled a couple ar 15s for myself. Now I'm assembling an lr-308 after falling in love with one at the range. I ordered my lower first about 6 weeks ago from viper defense or tacticalriflesar15.com. Web site says 3-7 days till ship and has all along. I have called several times and they sat its in anodizing. I think I screwed up.

Has anyone seen or have a picture of a serialized viper lower?
