05... I had a similar problem with my build, maybe not exactly, but similar. Just spitballing here but my hammer spring wasn't installed properly which wasn't allowing the hammer to cycle correctly. I installed it correctly (after Wash pointed out the problem) and it runs like a dream. Maybe take a pic of the trigger assembly and make sure they (springs) are installed correctly... Welcome from Delaware... When I built my lr308 I ordered my barrel from rainier arms. I sent them my bolt and they checked the headspace for me. I'm sure if,you order your barrel from a reputable dealer they would do the same. This is the place to ask questions, lord knows I had many along the way and was greatly helped by the members of this site. Feel free to ask away.. -
I just ordered 1000...255 regular price but 204/1000 with that coupon code.. Free shipping... Good deal. Thanks Cali.. I'll report back when I get them in.. Hell of a deal I thought.

Agreed, they are for a 30-30 application... Didn't realize the difference in OAL when I ordered them.

I'm using BLC2 powder sketch... Mike.. Do you think there will be any chambering issues? I only got these to plink in the back yard but I definitely will not be buying again.. not a reflection of the product, just a lack of foresight on my part...

Sorry.. The bullets from xtreme are 150gr. Flat tip...

I have been reloading for a few years now, mostly pistols, but I am now doing .308 and .223 for my rifles. Bought some Hornady 160gr. For $29/100 and they work great. I have been buying from Xtreme bullets for all my pistol bullets and have been happy with their product. Long story short... I ordered some .308 160 gr. Bullets with a roundish flat head. After I loaded a dummy round (no powder or primer) I noticed they are considerably shorter than the pointed Hornady bullets. I can't seem to find any data to help me find out what comparable load I could use. I have attatched a pic of the Hornandy in my caliper and one of the xtreme bullet as well. Any experience with these bullets? I don't want to over pressure them by placing them too deep nor do I want them just in the casing. Didn't even consider these bullets might not be acceptable on the AR platform. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Extraction and ejection issues

Well I wanted to follow up with you all and give you the latest.. Got home, grabbed my 308 and went out back to see how it worked after the adjustments to the trigger system. First shot, open breech, bolt locked back like it should, casing at 2 o'clock and 10ft away. Loaded mag with 3 rounds, engaged the bolt... Bang, Bang, Bang.. All 3 shells landed within 1 foot of each other. What a relief!!! Gun shoots as smooth as butter, no hiccups and truly a joy to finally shoot. I want to thank each of you for taking the time to help me trouble shoot my issue. A big shoutout to Wash!! Thank you guys again, it is nice to belong to a forum where everyone is soo willing to help out.. Thank you all again, couldn't have done it without all the help!! I will get it cleaned up, scope mounted back on it and post some pics of it soon... -

First spring pic is dpms, second is JP Spring. Longer buffer is 3.25 inches and weighs 84 grams, shorter is 2.5 inches and weighs 108 grams. -

Ok boys here it goes... I took some pics of the requested info but I noticed when I was taking a picture of my trigger assembly, the trigger spring was above rather then under the trigger (what a dumbass for not double checking when I assembled the first time) so I reassembled the trigger assembly, put and empty mag in, pulled back the charging handle and the bolt stayed open... Imagine that... By the way..only used the JP spring on trigger, not hammer spring, it is original DPMS hammer spring. Here are the pics of the buffers, springs, and spring depth. I also took pics of the trigger assembly, the bolt catch with a mag in and one with no mag. I think the trigger spring blunder was causing a lot of my issues.. I will fire it this Thursday or Saturday and report back... -
