Hey Montana308 check out Huber concepts replacement trigger for your Rem 700. I put one in a custom 308 and shrunk my 5 shot groups from 3/4 to 3/8 in. fantastic break (like glass). alot of the snipers are putting them in their guns for long range shooting. I don't think I will shoot anything else but Huber Triggers. IMHO

I just read that Remington R25 GenII is coming out, is this a copy of the DPMS Gen II ? is there any difference? any advantage one over the other?

Or you can do what I did in 69 in basic, shot left handed and my ar ejected 45 deg to the rear with no deflector, so I got a tin can cut a strip out of it, bent it 90 deg and taped it to the side every time we when shooting, the DI thought it was brilliant but would not let me use it for qualification, end results hot brass down the shirt ONLY on qual. day

now all I have to do is find one so I can compare it to an armalite. from what I read recently I really am leaning towards the Gen II. I like the light weight, carbon fiber hand guard, but am undecided between 16 or 20 in barrel. need to hold both and see which one feels like family. I know the first thing that gets replaced will the stock with a daniel defense new stock. I like the molded in soft cheek pad and the curve of the shoulder plate.

I found a local gun store that has an Armalite AR10 and a Bushmaster 308 on the shelf, both were $1350 the visual difference was the bushmaster had a FF front guard and a different looking stock than the normal collapsible type. it was solid, straight, with what looked like an adjustable butt plate. both had low profile gas blocks, and NO sights. of the two which one is the better buy? and better rifle over all? thanks

Ok I am going to get an AR10, 16-18 in barrel, lite weight (some where 7.5 to 8.5lbs), so what twist rate would you recommend??? I am using this for hunting, and for target out to 600yds with 150 gr.-168gr.bullets. also am going to change out the buffer and spring to reduce recoil and possibly a break, (if I can find one that doesn't increase the noise to much) I would like a lower gas block ( I HATE that A frame front sight on a standard AR) the twist rate will also help in deciding with company AR to get. I am leaning towards 1x11.5 and your comments will not offend me so let the battle begin. thank you

Ok I am looking at getting a AR 308cal. at a price under 1800. what would be a list of rifles to look at and in what order. I will be hunting with this and would like to keep the weight under 8.5 bare, but am also looking for under 1moa. I know Stag has one under development, but what about DPMS, Armalite, Ruger, S&W MP, suggestions, opinions, all welcome. thank you

Like the title said ,hello from Wisconsin, I have decided to pick up an AR platform in 308 cal. I will spend some time browsing your forum reading all I can, before I start to ask questions so I don't repeat something that has been addressed before. bottom line is I want a AR in 308 with no longer than a 18in barrel, free float handguard, great trigger even if I have to replace it, under 8.5lbs if possible before scope, that will be under 1moa. I heard that Stag is got one under development which just might fit the bill if it is anything like there quality AR now in production. Oh it also must be under 1900. I've had a M1A national match which was a sub 1/2moa but love the AR platform. I know it can be done so bottom line is HELLO for now
