  1. Tom, If you deny that we have a personal relationship, then why are you following me around on this site and jumping on every post I make? That seems like a personal relationship to me … perhaps an unhealthy and obsessive relationship, but highly personal. And if you are not obsessing about me, why is it you have been surfing the net, cyber stalking me, looking for my postings on other sites? And why are you making up lies about me, like your now discredited attempt to PROVE that I said that I had owned 100 Glocks? And how can you call me a poseur? Since you have been stalking me on other sites, you know which site I post on the most. I have been there for years. That site has me down for over 1000 THANK YOUs from people who appreciated my opinions/advice, sometimes highly detailed technical advice, and/or agreed with it enough to take the time to thank me. So, Tom, exactly how does that indisputable fact make me a poseur? Have I been fooling all those people all these years? And some of “those people” are genuine acknowledged experts with decades of experience at servicing, repairing, and accurising US GI issue guns. So how do you explain that Tom? All of them must really be stupid, right? But Good ol’ Tom has finally caught me out, right here on this forum. 1000 people have to be wrong, and Tom just has to be right. There, feel better now? Larry Z PS: I had four of the old Samurai rigs. Great little units but underpowered for long trips. I upgraded to the 86-89 Toyota LE 4WD vans, which had more room, and went nearly as many places as the Samurai.
  2. TOM, I initially joined this web site with the intention of learning more about the AR 10 family of rifles from those with different experiences and knowledge than mine, and hoping to share the experience and knowledge I have accumulated in a different country, with different rifles, and different times. I did not join this web site to get into a personal relationship with you. It is timely that you brought up the subject of embarrassment. For every intelligent adult who is watching you follow me around from thread to thread, like a sad little monkey who has lost his organ grinder, it is obvious that you are attempting to bully and intimidate me into leaving. And for any intelligent adult who has sat through Anthropology 101, or watched a baboon troupe on the nature channel, or read The Naked Ape, it is obvious that your behavior is EXACTLY that of a frightened primate. The technical term is “dominant posturing”, and this is exactly what you are attempting to do. It goes something like this: New monkey wanders into the banana patch, and the dominant/Alpha male immediately puffs himself up, screams at the top of his voice, and attempts to intimidate and dominate the newcomer, and if the newcomer will not submit, to chase him away. If the new monkey does not immediately submit to the dominant posturing, the Alpha male then screams for help, and his pack mates come running to fling feces at the newcomer. Does this sound about right? And believe me Tom, every time you go into your little frenzied baboon screaming fit, you embarrass only yourself. I am NOT intimidated by you … in fact I feel sorry for you. You are a bully, and inside, like most other bullies, you are just a scared little boy, howling like a monkey. So, compassionate and caring human being that I am, I will continue to remind you that acting like a scared and frenzied baboon is not an attractive feature. I will give you that personal relationship you seem to crave so desperately. But Tom, this site is NOT about you and me ... it is supposed to be about sharing information and facts and opinions regarding all those wonderful rifles in the big wide AR 10 family. So how about less monkey business, and more information and facts. If you want to take this into private mesasaging, I am willing to continue my counselling, but we really should leave the adults alone to enjot the site without all the fuss. PS: I have heard from other people, on this forum and other forums, how they do not want to come to this website because you have bullied and intimidated them. We all know you are a bully, but it is time for you to grow up and stop acting like a kid in kindergarten. If I didn’t care, and didn’t think that you were salvageable, I would not be bothering to tell you these cold hard truths. If I didn’t care, I would just leave you to carry on, acting out your aggression, fear, temper Tantrums, and inappropriate rage. But since I do care, I am here to help you work through your issues, Sincerely Larry Z
  3. Thank you for an actual sane, fact related reply. Wilco
  4. A R-ose by any other name … AR-10? 308AR? AR308? Big Chassis AR? Cucumber or cabbage? What does it really matter what we call the rose … we will know it by the beauty of its smell. I am well aware that a particular manufacturer of modern AR type rifles has copyrighted the AR10 name. SO WHAT?? Calling modern reproductions of many old classic items by the name of the original is common in business. It does not mean the modern reproduction is the old classic. It does not mean that the modern reproduction is the TRUE, REAL, by God’s Holy word, ONLY, ONE, version of the item. It does not mean that the technical specifications are the same … it is merely a legal business maneuver, designed to cash in on the reputation of the original. Just ask any motorcycle collector. When I was a teenager I bought a beat up old INDIAN 45 motorcycle and got it running. It was a classic … and it is now considered obsolete … ancient history … and a very very valuable collectible. Just yesterday, at a stop light, a massive Vtwin motorcycle pulled up beside me and I read the name INDIAN on it. Sure it was an “Indian” … some company bought the legal rights to the name, and sure, in some ways it may be much better than that old, classic INDIAN 45 I once owned, but it wasn’t a REAL Indian to me, and to most collectors. Want to guess which is worth more on the market … the old obsolete original Indian, or the brand new shiny version?? I make, and will continue to make, the distinction between the old/classic/original AR10 rifles, with their larger bolt carrier outside diameter and buffer tube inside diameter, and all the modern AR15/AR10 HYBRIDS, which use the smaller diameter buffer tube, and usually as many AR15 parts as they can. We cannot know all the reasons why Stoner made the decision to use the AR15 sized buffer tube when he redesigned / modernised his old design , but by doing so, he was brought hard up against the laws of physics. The Bolt Carrier/Buffer/Spring equation has to follow the laws of physics regarding action/reaction, mass and inertia. Given that the energy levels of the 7.62 NATO cartridge stay fairly constant, choosing to make the buffer tube smaller, required making the bolt carrier LONGER, with a reduced diameter tail, to approximate the same weight/mass/inertia. And while STONER was undoubtedly a genius, with good reasons for this decision, I suspect he did not make this choice due to technical reasons, looking for a way to improve the original design. I suspect this decision was made for business, political, commonality of parts, procurement contracts, and cost cutting reasons. All valid, but which compromised the engineering and the elegant balance that previously occurred between the larger diameter bolt carrier, and the larger buffer tube parts. And that is where all the fun really started with all the modern AR15/AR10 hybrids. I call these rifles AR15/AR10 hybrids. And the Canadian government makes the same distinction. By the Canadian government legal definition, aka named specifically on the ORDER IN COUNCIL, AR15 rifles and any variant thereof are now restricted firearms. And the Canadian govt classifies all modern "Big Chassis" AR rifles as AR15 VARIANTS. So by Canadian legal definition ALL MODERN BIG CHASSIS AR rifles are variants of the AR15 … or as I call them, AR15/AR10 HYBRIDS. While Canada may be a lightweight in the modern AR15/AR 10 hybrid market, due to our rather bizarre and unique gun law history, we probably have more of the ORIGINAL DUTCH/AI built AR 10 rifles inside our borders than any other country. That gives us some heavy weight credibility. And while our Canadian armed forces have not bought or issued many AR15/AR10 hybrids, the original contract competition was between Armalite and DPMS. And Armalite AR10T won. The current Canadian contract to replace the aging AR10T rifles is interesting. The contract does not use the term AR 10, but is for a “Precision 7.62mm weapon “. “As described, the 'Precision 7.62mm Weapon' will be a gas-operated semi-automatic with "a lower receiver based upon an AR platform".” http://www.casr.ca/bg-army-precision-weapon-project.htm As pointed out in one of my earlier posts, Wikiarms, who should/ know a bit about the subject, has made a list of all commonly available AR 10 type rifles. They titled it AR-10 rifles. Interesting isn’t it how Armalite does not show up till after DOZENS of other AR 10 type rifles from other manufacturers are listed?? http://www.wikiarms.com/group/ar10rifles And GUNS magazine calls these type of rifles “BIG CHASSIS ARs” http://fmgpublications.ipaperus.com/FMGPublications/GUNS/GUNS0315/ And I find the terms 308ARand AR 308 rather limited. After all, we have Big Chassis ARs available now in a plethora of calibers … from .22-250 to .450 MARLIN and 45 Raptor.. COMPLICATED?? Maybe we should just start calling them BIG CHASSIS ARs, But if all you Armalite true believers want to complain that the rest of the world does not follow your naming convention, then so be it. Facts are facts, and calling a cucumber a rose will not change the smell And calling me a troll will not change the facts. Argue the facts, or shut your pie holes.
  5. Thanks to all for the pertinent and useful info regarding the failure rate on RRA match triggers. Up here in Canuckistan, with our five rd magazine limitation, we do not get the high round count you guys get. good info
  6. Blue I didn't name the the link. And a rose by any other name should still smell as sweet.
  7. I installed a JARD in one of my DPMS built R25s. The instruction were not much help, and on the R25, I had to grind a teensy bit off the tip of the trigger to clear the fixed trigger guard. Once I got the Jard installed, it freaked me out. 1.5 lbs is just too light for me, especially if you shoot several other rifles before hand, with conventional 4 lb or more trigger weights. My Jard came with extra springs, but even at the maximum pull weight of 2.5 lbs, I still got too many "#÷=_ SURPRISE" shots. So I sold that R25 to a much more experienced shooter who could appreciate the JARD, and who wanted to get into shooting a .308 AR. I also experimented with the RRA match triggers ( two different triggers in three different R25s). I got bolt carrier drag in every case. The RRA match triggers worked nicely in all of my AR 15 builds, and I would really like to use an RRA trigger in my LR308B, but need some hints as to if the RRA can be modified to work with the LR308B. I also used an Armalite match trigger in one of my R25s, but the Armalite triggers are much harder to source up here in Canuckistan, and much more expensive. And the Armalite did not feel as crisp as the RRA. I am making do right now with the factory parts in my LR308B, which were already polished up nicer than most factory AR triggers ... perhaps even a bit too deep already. I noticed significant wear burnishing after only a few rounds fired. I stoned a bit more into a nice light trigger, with the previously bumpy creep now smoothed into what feels ALMOST like a two stage. But since I can see wear on the surfaces already, after only 60 rds, I don't think this will last. Any advice on using or modifying the RRA match trigger for use in a DPMS LR308B??
  8. http://www.wikiarms.com/group/ar10rifles For a fairly comprehensive list of AR 10 TYPE rifles arranged with lowest price first.
  9. Matt, on the assumption that i will be cast out, kicked off the island, I would like to/leave you with these FINAL thoughts. If /when you boot me, i won't come back. I am merely a fart in a windstorm beside a true master Gun Troll like Melvin ... aka gunkid, hardin, and a hundred other names. Poor Ol Melvin ... he actually DID have some interesting out of the box, off the wall, totally crazy, ? innovative fresh thinking? ideas. To this day people still mock Melvin's famous "Tactical Wheelbarrow" concept. But ask the Mormons, who pushed hand carts loaded down with everything they owned, over harsh terrain, for hundreds of miles, if a hand pushed cart is PRACTICAL. Today, they even have hardy re-enactors crazy enough to try to do it. http://mormoncurtain.com/topic_mormonhandcarts.html Or wander on down to your local Cabellas and check out their wide selection of "game carts" and note the similarities to Melvin's ground breaking work in the area. i wonder if any of the "TACTICAL/Practical/Hunting/Game carrying CART" manufactureseven acknowledges poor ol Melvin's contributions to their product line. John Melvin Davis ... the worlds best known Gun troll. Or perhaps merely a man ahead od his time? BUT, while Melvin was often quite entertaining ... in a bandwidth sucking, low fog factor kind of way ... he was usually real pain for mods Bhe was alos but quite often funny as all hell to the average forum reader. AS LONG AS YOU DIDN'T TAKE YOURSELF OR MELVIN TOO SERIOUSLY, having a vist from Melvin was GENUINE ENTERTAINMENT. His 9 always short) visits often increased interest and readership oi those forums he graced with his presence. However, much as we could admire poor ol melvin, The TRUE King of the internet Gun trolls has to be Gecko45. While Melvin bludgeoned you, Gecko seduced his readers with wit, wisdom, satire, hyperbole, and a truly warped sense of humor, Gecko had CREDIBILTY ... he truly could talk the talk and you sensed that he truly could walk it too. His genuine knowledge, and his ability to start of with something CREDIBLE, only a teensy bit crazy, and then tint step bt tint step make you crazy, soon had his readers running full speed down the hill and arguing about really IN-credible things. And best of all, he managed to deflate a few puffed up balloons/egos, and make us laugh at ourselves. The man truly had class. Where is Gecko when you need him? I am merely a fart in the windstorm beside Melvin and Gecko. But, annoying as I can admittedly be, I am still a better human being than those who exhiiibit Baboon like dominance tendenis, and are allowed to pack up throw feces at new comers. I am NOT the first new guy the baboon has tried to run off. You know it. And you have allowed it. Own your part in this, O of man of integrity. AS we say up here in canuckistan, TTFN
  10. Oh, I'm here, Mouth Of The Great White North. I'll tell you this, and admit it - I fucked up. So you "Fucked up".... and made up something about me THAT WAS UNTRUE .... just to win a stupid argument on the internet just to protect your pissing rights as the dominant BABOON ? now that is definitely NOT how I define personal integrity. This is "Scary Larry" - you look like a fucking Mall Ninja, and you're not very "scary..." Now don't be disrespecting Mall Ninjas. They often grow up to become Mall Security Specialists, and they ARE the TRUE unsung heroes of protecting America's most vulnerable heart ... the thing that defines your culture better than anything .. the MEGA malls. Forget Homeland IN-security and their fascist (yet bumbling ) attempts to create social control through FEAR ( a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR GROWTH INDUSTRY ... with sadly no end in sight). Without those dedicated professional Mall Security Specialists, protecting America's god given right to go shopping in safety for anything, at any time, the civilian support structure would crumble, and America would soon follow. Don't think that fat old guys can be heroes too? Just go watch Paul Blart in action ... his two BLOCKBUSTER action thrillers have definitely touched the hearts and minds of the American public, the common people, the average citizens, if not the MILITARY EITE. These average American moviegoers, in their millions, seem to appreciate fat old men with delusions of grandeur, who just don't know when to quit, much more than you do. SERIOUSLY DUDE, thank you for your service. I don't envy you your experience. You earned my respect for that. BUT, on my usual less serious note, if you want to earn my respect on this site, you will have to do better than calling me names, and inviting in your old pals to join you in flinging feces at the new guy. And if you think you can intimidate me with pictures of heavily armed faceless soldiers, you don't know what TRUELY scary people look like. My last career spanned over a decade working with a dedicated, elite, tough ... yet fair ... tactical unit. Our motto was, " You can fleece a sheep every year, but you can only skin it once." And we fleeced close to skin. My team didn't need crude weapons like guns to intimidate. No they used thick books full of accounting law, and SHARP pencils. And some of the toughest guys went Commando ... they didn't have no steenkin erasers on their pencils, no sir. Talk about TOUGH ... why even the most seasoned tax evader quivvered in fear when my boys got on their trail. YEAH, I never got to be the guy wearing no patches on my uniform, but They also serve who sit and wait.. And I am just as proud of my service to keeping my country flourishing, collecting pennies from stingy old ladies, and keeping the millstone of oppression grinding away.... by my time served as an IT guy for the Tax department. P S: I don' t have the urge to cyber stalk you like you are doing with me, so I won't take you up on your kind offer to go over to the .45 Govt section and read up. But judging from what you posted here, does owning a few Kimbers really qualify you as a Govt Model expert?? Much as I respect the KIMBER brand as a great value, one of the best bangs for the buck now available commercially, I consider that Norince, with FORGED FRAME and SLIDE, and properly modifed with high quality aftermarket parts such as a coned barrel and captured recoil plug, every bit as good as a Kimber ... and at half the cost. I built a lot of my Govt model pistols on the old Randall Stainless steel frames and slides. Both were 17-4 PH steel, with the slides DOUBLE heat treated to eliminate galling. Those old RANDALL pistols were TOUGH. As for my IpSC credentials, I started in 1980, and shot till 1992. Shot in dozens of Provincial Championships and a few Canadian National Championships. The last Can Champs I shot as a member of the BC provincial team ranked # 17 in the province ... # 80 something OAL in the Canadian only standings. mostly, I was just another one of the "also rans" in the background. I shot that little Detonics/Randall Le May mini gun hybrid in the picture for my first few years in IPSC. Made B class with it. Best I ever did was 3rd OAL in a provincial IPSC match ( very poorly attended ... only a few dozen showed up).. I never shot to compete with anyone else but myself ... although I did get a kick out of the looks on the faces on those very rare occasions when I beat some one with a tricked out, full house custom pistol. But by shooting that Detonics, i got in with some of the old original team Detonics guys, who were TRULY practical shooters. Some of them shot with Detonics Combat Masters, similar to my hybrid, And one crazy guy shot with NO SIGHTS!! A little known fact is that the original Detonics pistols were designed to be carried cocked and UN-locked, with the safety off, AND UN-cocked as well. The massive slide lightening cut was required for quick and easy access to cock the hammer. and as a side benefit, the super short and super light reciprocating mass made for the fastest trigger reset known in any Govt model pistol. On quick and dirty, close up PRACTICAL stages, the Detonics gave away nothing. When I finally gave up on my one man mission to stay PRACTICAL, and started craving better scores, i started in building on the Canadian original Para Ordnance duble stack mag frames. At first these were only available in ALLOY, and only as frame only kits. I am proud to admit that I built two of the first Para pistols SEEN IN iPsc MATCHES on the west coast of Canada. Unfortunately, I was also one of the first Gunsmiters to learn the compensating an ALLOY para was not a good thing. the downward pressure of the comp at the front had too much leverage, AND worked the trigger bow relief cut at the back causing very early frame cracking. Para soon offered their STEEL frames as kits, and I built a steel framed double stack that boosted my scores 20 % over my Detonics/Randall mini gun. And incidentally, at the time, while many IpSc shooters turned to the .38 STUPID cartridge as the ONLY solution for MAJOR, I stuck with the .45. Conventional wisdom ... everyone just KNEW it... said that a compensator on a .45 is totally useless, with all of the gas pressure fading away in three or four inches. I contradicted conventional wisdom by actually testing for myself in the real world. I experimented with lower slide weight, heavier barrels and comps ( which were only a part of the reciprocating mass equation for a short period ) and ended up with a comped govt .45 that used FULL POWERED RECOIL SPRINGS. This improved reliabilty on feeding and speeded up trigger reset time. Once I got that part of the equation sorted out I turned to finding a .45 ACP load that would still generate enough gas at the ports to be effective. This was achieved with copious amounts of Win 231 powder behind a proprietary Canadian 158 gr HARD cast lead bullet. ( Drew s Bullets which later became OMA Bullets ). I easily achieved MAJOR power factors of 180 with this load in a 5" compensated barrel. Recoil and muzzle flip could be tuned with lightened slides and shaping the ports until double tap range was greatly extended. And accuraccy was superb ... my Full Sized standard Class NOT comped match pistol could do 8 shots into 2.5" at 50 yds. Good enough for Govt work. My experiments with these utralight loads, and my enthusiasm for Bowling Pin matches, drew me into becoming one of the very first early adopters of .45 SUPER. With Detonics already offering their proprietary, slightly longer .45 D magnum loads and chamberings right from the factory, I shot their proprietary offerings for a while. But by merely shortening.45 D case OAL, .45 SUPER brass was readily available. And with RAMPED .45 barrels appearing on thhe scene, .45 SUPER became a very viable and attractive option. Can you say Grizzly Protection Gun?? .45 Super was definitely NOT for the faint of heart, especially in those early years, before serious load development was done. I actually blew the lugs right off of a SS barrel during my early experiments with un-ramped barrels. I won't publish my loads, but I will state for the record that I chronoed over 1400 FPS with 180 gr bullets, and 1250 FPS with Hornady 230 FP Ball. This was out of a 6" barrel, with a comp, and was definitely on the wrong side of sanity. So there you have a small example of my experience with the 1911 Govt model pistols. Unfortunately, due to medical reasons, i had to give up shooting heavy recoiling pistols. And in fact, at this time i do not personally own any pistols ... traded off my NEW UNFIRED GLOCK 22 GEN 3.5 with a SS 6" .357 SIG barrel, and a BIG bag of factory .357 SIG ammo. These days, with my limp wrist issues, all I can shoot without pain is a .22 LR. I am seriously thinking of getting one of the GSG .33 LR clones. Gotta keep shooting ... something ... right?. Does that answer your question?? Have a GREAT fucking night!... I did ... slept like a baby after an hour in the hot tub, and going for a walk around the lake 50 yds from my back door. PS: While I am deeply flattered that you care enough about me to forage relentlessly around the internet for my postings, you really should stop. It is no longer funny, and it has gone beyond the bounds of rational behavior into obsession and cyber-stalking. Believe me, your friends have noticed and are worried about you. Perhaps even now they are planning an intervention? So why don't we both just stop pissing on the tree, and go get some sandwiches? Sincerely, your Pal (meant only in a PLATONIC manner) Larry
  11. I will go make a sandwich now. But the truth IS out there. You will see that the baboon/Silverback made up his claim about the Glock BS. And yes I agree, if I get to stay, nuke the thread. I am certainly not too proud of some of the things I said in heat. Instead of getting into a peeing contest, I should have just, gone and made a sandwich..
  12. I am still patiently waiting for the big baboon to post proof of his bold fabrication that I said ANYWHERE at any time that " I have had a 100 Glocks" We will be waiting a lonnnng time for that, because it just don't exist. I am eagerly awaiting the results of the poll which will determine my fate here on your site ... but if integrity and fairness have anything to do with this, rather than mere pissoff, I think we should wait for a reply about that glock fabrication made up by the big baboon. HMmmmmmm?
  13. It is true that I sometime do consulting work for M14.CA, for which I am paid a mere pittance ... but I do get to play with all their fancy new prototypes, and see them actually become a reality, be produced, and get marketed.. That is reward enough for retired guy like me ... I certainly don't do it for the $$$. Any post I make on the internet reflects only my personal opinions and in no way reflects the offical POV of M14.CA as a business entity. I am definitely NOT a shill for M14.CA, and my internet presence is more of a pain in the butt for them than an asset. For example, to any one who asks, I freely admit that the AR 10 (ORIGINAL) provided much of the inspiratation for the Blackfeather M14 stock. AND that most AR type rifles will be better ergonomically, and usually more accurate out of the box than most M14 type rifles. BUT the big thing the M14 type rifles have going for them here in Canada, is that SEMI ASUTO ONLY 14s are NOT restricted, with no paperwork on them. And ANY AR 15 type rifle, or variation thereof, is a RESTRICTED weapon up here.
  14. According to his bravado, he has owned over 100 Glocks... I can dig up that post if necessary. PUT YUR MONEY WHERE YUR MOUTH IS!! DIG UP THAT POST OR SHUT IT! i have posted on a lot of different gun sites, but I have NEVER said that I owned over 100 Glocks. What I HAVE said, is that I have personall owned OVER 100 1911 Govt model type pistols, many of which I built from piles/ of parts.. I can understand it that you might not know the difference between a Glock and a 1911 type pistol so I am including a few pictures to aid you. after all, when it comes to pistols a glock is just a Glock is Just a GLOCK ... except when it isn't? I have only owned a few dozen of the Glocks , no where near the 100 you say you can prove????? Most of these Glocks were set up in multiple calibers, on G22 or G23 original guns, with 9mm conversion barrels and mags, .357 SIG conversion barrels, and an Advantage Arms .22 LR conversion kit. this is possibly the best ONE PISTOL arrangement any one could put together. Add in the/ CARBINE cONVERSION AND YOU HAVE A PRETTY COMPREHENSIVE LITTLE PACKAGE THAT FITS INTO YOUR Back pack for ....whatever??? Zombis any one?? 1911 pattern pistols: A Detonics slide on a Randal SS frame, built some ttime in the 1980s. My last 1911 pattern pistol ... a $ 399 Norinco Commander model I added a few bits to. NOTE the BULL barrel. YES, it is true, bigger IS better, especially FATTER. So, Mr Alpha Dominant Baboon, who gets off at throwing feces at newcomers who dare to intrude into his territory, you have CATEGORICALLY STATED that you can bring a post where I claim to have owned 100 glocks. So right here, right/ now, bring it ... or admit that YOU are the bullshitter here. I didn' think so, BECAUSE NO SUCH POSTING EVER EXISTERD. YOU MADE IT UP. CALL and raise you! (;{) And remember, Mr Top Baboon, when you start slingin the poop, the smell sticks to YOU!!
  15. Token, with the M305 M14 type rifles, YPMMV when it comes to ammunition. this is true of all fire arms, but especially true with the 14s. I have a buddy who bought three cases of the NORC copper washed ammo, back when it was cheap. He has shot off the first case, loves this stuff in his two M14s, He gets about 2" - 3" in his 14s. I borrowed some of this ammo for my personal tests in the LR308B, I wanted to check for myself to confirm what was posted on the internet and oon the DPMS site. In my case, with my particular LR308B, this was was a disaster, with failures to chamber on rounds 13 and 15. But the day was not a total loss. The guy at the bench shooting next to me had a new to him factory shorty M305, with no flash hider. The muzzle blast was EXTREME. I asked him how he liked it so far, and he loved it. We discussed his experience with shooting the NORC BALL in his 305, and for him it was AWFUL. 5 -6" groups and he had split three case necks. Good to get another hands on opinion, but obviously, again, YPMMV. And before we left, I had emptied out his wallet, and he had a brand new compensator and a bunch of other M14 junk i just happened to have in my tool box. A great day for both of us and we both left with smiles on our faces. And after he handled my LR308, he knew what his next rifle was going to be. Good luck with finding the perfect factory ammo for your rifle. I just picked up a few different boxes of factory .308, including some 168 Gr AMAX Hornady. I only have 60 rds through my new LR308B so still have much experiemntation to do. Next range session I will post my results ... if I am still here. (;{)
