  1. Yea I have some practicing to do before i can think i shoot out to a 1000 yards. But is that the fun part going out for the practicing? LOL
  2. I knew I was probably going to shoot 168's and higher when i built my rig, but what the heck i could always just see how the lighter grain ammo shoots.
  3. Gotcha. He is doing his build soon and ordering the barrel soon. I went 1/11 3 polygon rifling cause BHW told me it should shoot anything between 168's to 180' well and 175's very good. I thought that 1/9.73 twist would be better for 180's and higher
  4. So my buddy wants to buy a.308 BHW 20 " barrel with fluting done at 1/9.73 twist rate. He plans on shooting between 168 to 178 bullets with this gun. He wants to try to use the 175 SMK if possible because he buying the same scope i am. That is the base load on the scope he wants to buy. What your guys thoughts on this? I told him he should look at the 1/11 twist instead. BHW is saying that good but it doesnt sound right to me.
  5. your not kidding LOL
  6. No its about same size of A2 grip.
  7. Thanks, took a while. Hexmag is nice. Its not a soft grip but i like it cause you can have it your way. It has 3 positions. Forward, middle ( stock position) and back. I like it farther back cause i like my finger tip right on the trigger.
  8. Thanks. Didnt even know they had the color to match till searching on KNS website.
  9. I shot that same scope at the range. My neighbor has had it for 2 years i believe. First time shooting that scope my neighbor walked me thru the reticle real quick and shooting 300 yards. Was group 3 to 4 inches first time with no practice on his gun. He was shooting much better then that. PRIMARYARMS stuff just works and its great customer service
  10. Also forgot to mention that i have KNS precision anti rotating trigger/ hammer pins. Which are very nice!!!
  11. Not completely broken in but close. Barrel man recommends 60 rounds thru it. But so far its ran flawless
  12. http://www.primaryarms.com/primary-arms-6-24x50-front-focal-plane-scope-with-acss-hud-308-reticle/p/pa6-24x50ffp-acss-hud-308/
  13. Well dont have any pics of targets just cause 50 yards away isnt really worth posting anything to write home about. When i get my FFP PRIMARYARMS 6-24x50 308 hud dmr scope mounted and start shooting at 100 yards plus beyond I will definitely post some targets.
  14. Ok finally got to shoot my build. Here a list of the build Sota arms DPMS 308 18" complete upper with BHW 3 polygon match barrel. Ares Armor lower i beleive ( bought soo long ago cant remember) Ares Armor lower parts kit ( i think bought soo long ago) Geiselle DMR 2 stage trigger Hexmag FDE adjustable grip Luth-AR MBA1 FDE stock kit includes buffer, tube and spring. Leaper UTG new Gen quick detach hi-pro bi-pod ( very well built, very light and very cheap) 10 rd PMAGS Still waiting on optics Went bought some pmc ammo to just get some rounds thru her to see how she would run and cycle. Put some iron sights on her till scope is available. That been said only shot at 50 yards since i cant remember the last time i shot thru iron sights ( spoiled with modern technology) . I shot only 40 rounds thru her at 5 at a time then clean barrel per manufacturer. Cycled beautiful, locked back every single time mag was empty. Extracts and ejects spent rounds about 3ft from firing position. No issues what so ever and i know its only 40 rounds but very happy to see no problems out of the gate. Time to buy some ammo. First build. I appreciate some you guys for helping out. Thanks
  15. I know its a little late. I have this on my build http://www.luth-ar.com/product/mba-1-fde-w-308-buffer-kit/ Ita lighter then Magpul. Includes everthing cause it comes as a kit. If you just bought the stock from luth its only $149.95. Just throwing it out there
  16. I have a 130db siren hooked up to my alarm system. So if a door , window opens or if someone walks in front of the motion sensor i know im grabbing the shotgun and chambering a round... It also has a 1000 lumen tactical flashlight to blind the hell out them
  17. Yea i have a short barrel tactical mossberg 500 shotgun for my greeting the home intruder weapon. I keep it 3 double00 in the tube but nothing chambered. I also do not have children in the home yet. But things may change LOL.
  18. Yea i have Geissele FCG in every AR i own. After shooting one for the first time i was hooked. Survival I appreciate the feed back. How do personally store your weapons?
  19. Well im not sure its always true depending on what company you buy from. I have a Nikon laser IRT 2.5-10x40 scope with BDC to 600 yards for .223 55gr bullets. I beleive this scope retail over $800 new. I paid $579 plus shipping new. Scope has extremely clear glass, eye relief is awesome, turrets can be zero back after making adjustements without losing you zero and it has a built-in laser range finder which i found to be very accurate. Only off by a yard or two when ranging targets. Well the mount sucks by far. Hardware broke after 3 months. No big deal. Nikon sent new ones. I used different. Hardware cause just didnt look strong enough. Well the real problem came after 2 years of use. My zero wont stay. Im off on elevation almost everytime i take it out to shoot. Use the exact same ammo each time. Even use half a box , then started with same box of ammo. Called Nikon. Not covered under the warranty. They want to charge me like between $250 to $500 for repairs if it even fixable. Checked everything. Mounting system is good. Tried storing it differently. No difference. Shot my neighbors primaryarms scope. Awesome scope for the money.Grouping 3 to 4 inches first time shooting it at 300 yards. Its been on his gun for 2years with over 600 rounds thru his 308. Was less then half of what i spent
  20. So my buddy stopped by the other to check out my 308 build . While here he notice I store my AR's with trigger hammers in locked " ready " but safety "on" firearms unloaded. He said "your ruining the springs in the gun". I advised him they dont wear or lose tension while compressed, its when you actually use the weapon is when the springs wear. I also said I could be wrong on this subject , but im going to look into it. So with that being said, what's some of your feed back on this issue ? How do you guys store your weapon? And yes by the way I do have a fully ready weapon for self defense. Loaded but not chambered.
  21. Well waiting on the optics now LOL. Going to break her in with some iron sights to scope comes in. Survival thanks for thr help.
  22. Well have an update. Went down to local gun shop that i deal with and brought my bolt catch with me. They had a Seekings Precision AR-15 enhanced bolt catch that measured slightly higher and had more throw when empty mag in place. It was $11.00. .. It works perfectly with more then enough catching the bolt every single time. Its much stronger from what Seekings website says.
  23. Pmags. ..... Buddy had a WMD nixb BCG laying around. Grab it from him and stuck it in. Without the accu wedge in it catching sometimes. Like every 2 out of 3 times. Might be worth trying a different mag????
  24. 10.5 mm or about 0.42inchs above lower shelf when mag is locked into mag well.
  25. Will do......... It has not been fired yet. It supposed to be head spaced correctly from sota arms. I would like to buy the tools and check it myself.
