  1. Oh $hit, I didn’t realize you had an Armalite SPR lower in stock. I’m gonna go ahead and fan the flames here, you need to do it. Nay, it deserves to be made into something incredible like a mod0. It even ticks your favorite box, #1 Armalite Fanboy . Gawd damn it! Where is @98Z5V when I need him, we need to jump on Armalite man as a group and shame him into building an Armalite Mark12
  2. I get it brother, just bustin balls. Took me 30 years to finally break from The People’s Republic of Maryland. California is absolutely gorgeous, hands down. I spend a lot of time in CA for work, and I know how it really is. Go in any of the small towns and it’s all good folks, just stuck living by rules Douche Canoes in a few of the big cities make for everyone.
  3. You want to know a fun fact? We actually still have houses up for sale in the free sections of America . I’d much prefer you move in down the street from me, instead of another Bay Area douche bag that wants to make Reno the next target of their left wing revenge. Back to the gun though, I’m excited to see how the CMM.. I mean DNP 9mm special turns out . I’ve heard good things about that silent captured spring setup, but no first hand knowledge. I’m also a caveman at heart, very much believe in the motto of don’t complicate $hit. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on the setup though. Who knows, I may get brave enough to try it down the road somewhere.
  4. I’m down for it brother, you know I am. I don’t have a lot of long range experience, last years shoot was the first time I’ve done over 500. I’ll get it though, good old fashioned trial by fire type shitt . I’m excited for this one, I really am. Been a long time since I’ve had a good specific purpose build like this. Last few builds were cheap PSA kits, just stuff to tinker on and make neater rifles from. This though, this MK12 is gonna be a nasty mother fuker. Any of its failings are range are gonna be because of my stupid ass, not the platform.
  5. It’s savage, and I love it . Having just learned about The Rule a very short time ago, I appreciate the kind grace period y’all placed on me. I promise to uphold the laws of the rule, and will have a functioning 6mm Arc as soon as possible. The kids better hope they like Ramen, cause obviously an MK12 build is important shitt. They need to understand what to prioritize in life . Right now I’m planning on getting the barrel and rail hopefully next month, which only would leave the BCG for a functioning rifle. I’ve got my buddy here all fired up for this build too, he’s chomping at the bit hard also. Wants me to get this fuker built so we can go test run it somewhere.
  6. Oh I plan to brother. I’ve just got to figure out the exact parts buying sequence, but it’s gonna happen. Now that I’ve settled on the mod1, it’s just a matter of budgeting. I’ll bring the subgun again this fall too, use it as a distraction if need be
  7. It happened quick too man. I couldn’t help but poke at Matt and his “meals” after jabbing at you. Gotta keep the head on a swivel, it’s a target rich environment
  8. Oh $hit, already thinking about getting that LaRue rifle kit moving towards your place? As for the shooting school, do you think they’ll explain how “meal” dots work? Or just MOA?
  9. 😁 thought you’d like that . All joking aside I appreciate the heads up 98, I really like that setup. The QD cups are just so much easier than any standard sling setup
  10. That’s super slick, might have to go that route. Thanks for the link Matt
  11. What kind of A2 stock is that with a QD mount built in? I like A2 stocks, but I prefer the simplicity of QD mounts for slings, I've never seen one of those before. That would be exactly what I want right there
  12. There you go, between the two of you LaRue Rail it is. I was already leaning that way, but wanted to confirm. I love that LaRue MBT-2S I run in that Daniels, that is an easy option for any build moving forward. That full LaRue rifle is gonna be a sexy mofo, I can't wait to see how it turns out
  13. Alright gentlemen, I think I've decided what my 6mm build is gonna look like. I'm digging the idea of an MK12 build, but I don't think I can justify the investment right now on a Mod0, but a Mod1 on the other hand... Got that BCM stripped upper on the way, shipped this morning, that is a nice starting point. Now I need a quad rail, and I'm currently mulling over two of them BCM QRF 12"quad https://www.opticsplanet.com/bravo-qrf12556blk-bcmgunfighter-ar-15-quad-rail-12-6061-t6-aluminum-black-hard.html or the LaRue 12 Quad https://www.larue.com/products/larue-quad-rail-handguard/. @98Z5V I know you have the LaRue on your MK12 Mod1, what are your thoughts on this? BCM certainly makes nice stuff, and it is slightly less expensive than the LaRue, though not by much. Not sure which would look the part better for a Mod1. Next up is barrel, I've got some time on that one since nobody is really showing any in stock yet, but I'm heavily leaning towards the BA 18" SPR that someone here loves to death . The lower is gonna be a Spikes Tactical lower I've had sitting in the safe since last year. I'm thinking I'm gonna keep this one kind of traditional, Fixed A2 stock. As much as I try and fight it, I always like the look of a fixed stock. Also that keeps it more in line with the original Mod1s deployed by SF and the Marines. This would be a nice time to work in a silly nice Geissele trigger, but I've had such good luck so far with the LaRue triggers, I might stick to those and save the money. I'm certainly open to a A5 buffer setup and a SopMod or something, but for now I'm planning fixed stock. Thankfully glass is easy for this one at the moment, got a Nightforce 5-18 going to waste on a 700 build I hardly shoot. That bastard will be fukin sweet on this! Let me know what y'all think, got any ideas, I'm certainly open to suggestion. Not gonna make any promises the lower will be complete by Fall, upper is the priority right now. Worst case, this upper will work nice on my Daniels M4 lower with a LaRue trigger in it.
  14. I don’t believe in safe queens. Guns are tools, they’re meant to be run. If it breaks because you aren’t babying it, you’ve got a piece of $hit. @Rsquared can verify I once literally threw my AK at the ground cause it was jamming and pissing me off, who knew even they don’t like being completely bone dry . Put a few drops of oil in that Romanian born bitch and we were able to reconcile a different day haha. The only exception I make to that rule is historical stuff. I’ve got a couple ww2 guns I wouldn’t beat on, but I for sure still shoot them.
  15. Oh I bet you are, as much as we’ve been talking about these fukers lately. I myself am anxious to get building something, though trying to pace myself for cash reasons. I ordered a stripped upper from BCM earlier for this build. It’s from their demo/scratched category, $59 including the port cover and forward assist in the box. Can’t beat that price, and who cares about scratches? This thing is gonna get thrown around the desert. Been eyeballing rails all day, trying to decide what way to take this bastard. 2 quad rails, a BCM and the LaRue. The Geissele MK13, which is their Mlok with 1913 sections on the end. Or, the King Swinging Dick himself, that damn PRI MK12 bastard. Honestly I think I’ll like it no matter which route, the main question is gonna be total cost at the end. Barrels are still all but no existent on the internet as of yet, and I’ve been too lazy to call about one. More than likely I’m gonna do the same as you, BA SPR 18in. Haven’t completely ruled out a Faxon offering as of yet though, and there is the question of would we want mine to be a 20” to compare to your 18”.
  16. @98Z5V here ya go brother Just finished watching this video, it’s got me fully steamed up for the 6mm, I think this is gonna be the bad mofo we hoped. Between the consistency and most importantly the energy it’s delivering. He’s swinging that plate pretty good at 800
  17. Welcome from Nevada
  18. That’s true. Somehow I’m the one who had “the rule” invoked and yet you already have parts on order. You’re a good sport my brother, taking the plunge with me on this. I agree with what you said too, all signs point to this being a sweet round. I’ll be interested to see how well it catches on, especially knowing someone out there in the DOD blanket is actively running it.
  19. That Valk is exactly what I’m thinking about right now. I was hot for that late summer last year. Was really tempted to build one, seemed like a really sweet round on paper. Funds never materialized for that one before the fall shoot, and I’m kind of happy it didn’t. We played with them out there, and I certainly liked the caliber. Guns were sweet, round shot well, but signs started showing it wasn’t better than Grendel. On top of that, Grendel ammo is way easier to find around. I have no issue being a guinea pig for 6mm, I’m enjoying the random thoughts were all having on build projects. I just don’t want to dump a $hitload of cash into it then have it be ho hum. At least a really nice LaRue rail isn’t stupid expensive like you said, it’s a high quality rail, and you’re done with rail parts after that. Not immediately dumping another $400 or so on extra mod 0 parts.
  20. Well ideally I’d like to build both eventually. I’ve been in love with those rifles forever, and then playing with yours last year sealed the deal. I’m debating building the 6mm as possibly the mod 1, then slowly piecing together a mod 0 in 5.56. Honestly I’m a little nervous to spend mod 0 money on the 6mm build, when we don’t even know how much we’ll all like it. I’ll love a 5.56 mod 0 forever. It all comes down to me still being unsure of the direction with the 6mm.
  21. Yeah I gotta put some thought into that. Love that mod 0 big time, but it’s a lot of money by the time I buy all the other stuff you listed.
  22. Man, I hate how spot on that whole speech is. Obviously no pressure at all. None whatsoever.
  23. Well, as usual you make great points. I was joking with Matt about using the phone function on this here handheld device, but truthfully it’s something I never think about doing. Calling gun parts companies, why? Apparently I’ve been wrong all this time. $165 is a killer price for that setup, especially with the gas block already pinned. I’ve never bought BA products before, but running a couple of your rifles last year definitely made me believe in their products. Hearing they’re good dudes certainly doesn’t hurt either. The 2 barrels I’ve been looking at have been either the BA or a Faxon. I know Faxon makes nice stuff too, but their current 18inch 6mm barrel is a mid length, not rifle. I kind of what that rifle length gas for this DMR build, though mid length would certainly work. You talking about getting a LaRue upper and just swapping the barrel got me thinking. BA currently is selling an 18inch 6.5 Grendel upper with BCG for like $700. Since it’s my first order from them, they’ll immediately take $70 on that price. $630 for a complete Grendel upper with the 18SPR barrel you love so much, that’s a highly tempting purchase. Possibly get that and then swap in the 6mm barrel, see how we like it. Worst case dump the 6mm barrel and put the Grendel back in. Decisions decisions my dude, so many options.
  24. Now wait just a second Matthew, are you implying what I think you are? Are you saying I can use this phone in my hands to make phone calls? Actually speak to a person on the other end? How barbaric
  25. Yeah so far barrels and parts are hard to find. Brownells had a few lengths of BA barrels in stock, they’re gone now. Without the bat cave phone number 98 clearly has, the rest of us are probably gonna have to wait a while for parts to start trickling in
