Regarding a favorite. it's the sporter in it's original configuration. It has the sentimental value of owning it since 1992. Back when they werent popular and the choices and options were slim. Not to mention it only cost me a bit over $600. I had a lot of good times with that rifle.
Well heres the thing. I have four lowers but only the one from my Colt Sporter can contain all the evil features of an assault rifle. As a result a few of the uppers will be mated to that Colt lower to comply. The 24" AR is CT legal.
Curiously do the instructions give you a range of turns and starting point? I did a little googling and some folks with the jp block report cases getting bent when hitting the case deflector. Too much gas.
my first thought would be the bolt is no longer traveling fast enough for a clean ejection. The case is dinging the receiver before it clears the ejection port What are you using for ammo? Any other function issues? Gas block aligned perfectly?
Heres a picture showing a rough difference. The rifle length is installed on an AR-15 so the alignment is approximate. The barrel in the 15.5 is an 18" with the threads removed.
The SASS block appears as though it will work fine under a JP/VTAC FFHG. Additionally the increased height of the gas tube appears as though it has an insignificant impact at the receiver. Much ado about nothing.
What Bipod are you looking at? Harris or something else? look at the picture here. You can see how the little wings and pins can attach to a sling stud
I decided to order a few more 7.62 PMAGS today and I noticed Midway, SKD Tactical and Bravo Company had zero in stock. I ordered mine from Brownells. Botach is listing them for $15 but it doesnt mention stock. Rainer also lists them but doesnt mention stock level.
