mineralman55
I'm going to be in San Antonio soon, and was wondering if there is a good local gun store with powder on hand? I wouldn't mind picking up some while there. Any suggestions?
planeflyer21
Good luck MM. When we were in western Texas, we were hard pressed to find a LGS. Those listed in the regional phonebooks were out of business.

mineralman55
Mineral :) Wash http://www.hookandbullet.com/lonestar-loading-gun-shop_210-365-4584/ /\ /\ /\ This was a great call! About 30 minutes out of downtown. Beautiful area, I could retire there. Not really a gun store, but a reloading warehouse and distribution center. I drove out and spent an hour talking with Keith about this and that. They have lots of powder, mostly for shotgun and pistol. I scored the last keg of Varget for a great price. Keith said he had 6 last Saturday. They go fast. We talked about the powder manufacturers and why no one, NO ONE, seems to be able to get certain powders. He too was at a loss. Still, I made another friend, he'll get my business in the future.
mineralman55
BTW, some of the restaurants in S.A. are fantastic. I ate at the CIA... Culinary Institute of America. Student chefs working on their degrees in their own restaurant at night. Great food, great atmosphere, reasonable price.
