Cali_Ed
Is there such a thing or do you guys use the same one as for a rifle. I figure it universal. I have not loaded my my powder measure I have now but a painfully slow way of using the small scoop and measuring.
Malig8r
Ed, refresh my memory please. Do you have a single stage or progressive? I have the Dillon 550b and use that powder measure. Although, I've read really great things about the RCBS Chargemaster.
Cali_Ed
Single stage sir
MikedaddyH
Two cheap Lee single stage powder measures and one less cheap on the progressive set up for the 40s&w loads. RCBS and the Dillion are much better !
Cali_Ed
Are those auto charging any good or just gimmicks
Malig8r
From all that I've read the RCBS Chargemaster is an excellent powder measure. If I were to purchase a separate powder measure that would be the one. I'm sure there are plenty of options and to be clear I am "color blind" when it comes to reloading equipment...I don't care if it's Blue, green, red, orange or heliotrope for that matter. Cali_Ed
I can careless abkut the brand aswell as long as it's consistent on its charges. For my lee powder measure I measure every single because it's terribly inconstant
survivalshop
My old & I mean old ,Redding Micro drop powder measure , I loaded a charge to 42.9 grs. of TAC & it dropped them all exactly to that weight & I checked every five rounds I dropped . Thats with a Ball type Powder , I could never do that with IMR 4064 , but it would be close ,I use a powder trickler for correction , but some of the Flake Pistol Powders , it will . Any good drop type powder measure will work for both , pistol or rifle . My Dillon 550B has a different Bar for lower weight & higher weight charges . My Redding is to the right by the TAC Powder
MikedaddyH
Ball powders are consistent but the Stick powders you SHOULD weigh every load and trickle or tap extra into cup. The Flake powders are a PITA and MUST weigh each load I.E. (Imr 800X).
