Dale
It is cool to do that because our POTUS is really a PODSTUS. DAMMIT!.... ARMALITE makes a.308 AR10 and DPMS and a hundred others make a LR308 and whatever it is that they make ???? so call it what it is, If you don't know what to call something, ask someone that knows like unowho. (XCVIII-ZULU-V-VICTOR) or . Whatever he Vants to be.referring to the illegal immigrant sitting in the whitehouse currently, "POTUS" would be; piece of totally useless sh it...what is the PODSTUS?... ridurall
It would be nice if we could talk companies into building a generic 308 (ar15 mil spec for example) type pattern, or at least more interchangeable . Armalite made a baby step with the A model. The proprietary designs hurt sales big time. It's the number one reason everybody I know don't buy one. For now, maybe a labeling system for what rifles the parts fit. Say something A for armalite, D for dpms and such. Maybe presenting a more constructive ,problem solving direction would help. Yes, trying to figure out what fits what drives me nuts. We should try to encourage vendors to label their parts compatibility . I know some people are going to be hard to work with.Bingo, Why are there mil. spec AR-15s by hundreds of companies but I can't take the upper off my Windham AR.308 and put it on my Armalite AR-10T nor do the magazines from the Windham work in the Armalite or vice versa. Also dosen't Armalite have a different pattern AR-10 that won't fit the older guns like my 1998 AR-10T?
beachmaster
Hhmmm... Let's set up an email list! I will get some company names and email addresses, I'll send them emails, and let you guys know how it goes.If a company is exceptionally obstinate or incompetent, maybe a couple of people can back me up with emails of their own. :-)I'll try to get a list going tomorrow. survivalshop
Most of these companies using the AR 10 designation is for quick identification of the caliber & that's why you see it so much .If they said something like its for a big AR , it would ever be more confusing . As far as the designation of said Parts , yes , your right ,these manufacturers & companies selling components should designate what it truly fits , its not helping anyone . Different manufacturers think that proprietary components for their rifles keep owners of said rifles , coming to them for parts to help keep them in business . I with you Beach . Dale
Pile Of Dog Shitt Traitor USwell that brings it all into perspective... ;-) being new to the AR scene, last I handled one was 40 years ago in the military, and only getting back into them in the last 3 years... my time here is very informative, in all aspects of the black gun world, AR 10 and 15's... I really appreciate the more knowledgeable and experienced folks here taking the time to try to bring this matter to the fore front and hopefully bring some clarification to the confusing world of the Armalite AR10/LR308 DPMS style guns for us new guys...
