Rsquared
Now, I don't know jack when it comes to reloading small arms projectiles. But Alliant, as a company knows one or two things when it comes to powder and how it reacts to temperature changes. Last time I checked. They're a HUGE player in the aerospace industry. As in building rocket motors, and their thrust vectoring assemblies and all of the ancillary equipment. I would think that they know what their doing when it comes to solid propellant's. Now granted......they absorbed Morton-Thiokol Inc (those that brought you the Challenger space shuttle explosion back in the 80's) in the late 90's I believe. I also did a google search on this claim and there is a full review from Rifle Shooter Magazine and they claim the same thing ..Please click on the link and you guys can be the judge for yourself http://www.rifleshootermag.com/accuracy-tests/fact-fiction-gunpowder-temperature-sensitivity/ Edited September 13, 2015 by jeanclaudesegal

Morton-Thiokol warned NASA not to launch when the temperatures were that low and in their haste to get the launch off, NASA disregarded them.
