Once again. Nice build my man. Nice review too. That's a pretty impressive rifle. But I've been known to have an SBR thing. laughing

I got to get mine off the ground..... Slacking big time, plus new bike is a money sponge

Please send a note to the NRA to help the Iowa legislature get some new laws passed that will allow me to own a suppressed SBR, right now my P716 is as close as I can get.........damn that 338 looks like fun!

Looks like the first 4 rounds - about 2200fps flat when it didn't knock the sunshade off - 30fps higher on the two rounds when the sunshade blew off - wondering if the concussion bouncing the sunshade off was the reason for the higher readings.

Total deviation on the AE 185s?

If your blowing your sun shades off , your Chrono is too close to your muzzle .I keep mine about ten feet away from Muzzle . The bullet probably already passed the sensors before the sun shade blew off .

Believe it or not..the chrono was about 15ft away from me lol..  I guess i should have put it further .I dont believe the sunshade being knocked off had anything to do with the velocity change..I have seen this happen before to others and that does not change the consistencies if it is built back properly. The temp was a little warm that day..it could have been why i was getting a little higher readings..The previous time i shot into it, I only shot  a string of 2..this time it was 4 of the 180gr nosler.. I tested my 50beo after to see if there were any inconsistencies from my previous test and the 50 beowulf 335gr was about 20fps faster than my previous test shooting a string of 5 shots..So in conclusion i believe the warmer weather does have something to do with slightly higher readings..On average i am getting a little over 2200fps with the 180gr noslers

Like I said , Temp Sensitive Powders !

Next time put some of the same rounds in a couple of zip lock bags and freeze them the night before then keep them in a cooler at the range till you shoot them ... The velocity will be slower !

...and the temp outside would affect temp-sensitive powders.

Yeah thats kinda little above and beyond what i am gonna do to check cold-cool weather ballistics..I dont know how many ammunition companies like Federal and Alexander Arms use temp sensitive powders but i would think that there is reasons behind it....Here in south texas it is mostly hot throughout the year..i more than likely will expect to see the same chronograph readings that i am getting throughout most time of the year..I guess it is to my advantage that i get a faster bullet due to my weather here v.s somewhere up north where it is more cooler and dryer...What i will do though in december when it starts to cool down here in texas..i will take it out for another chronograph testing to see the velocity change and report back my results..

jeanclaudevandammestevensegal - do you understand what temp sensitive powders are?  From our replies-to your replies, it looks like you don't understand what we're talking about...  in reference to temp-sensitive powders.

Yes i do..The Statement.. Temp Sensitive powders Defines exactly what it means....Please read my previous post..I was wondering which other ammo manufacturing companies use temp sensitive powders......I have spoke to a few reloaders and some of them tell me that they know for certain that Alliant powders are the worst for increasing/decreasing in power released with changes of temperature, and the best one for not showing swings in power released are Hodgdon Extreme powders, most ball powders are stable until extreme cold/hot situations show themselves.
