psdmedic
I just built my first .308. Its an Aero Precision M5 with a Nickel Boron BCG from Aero. Barrel is a 16" Ballistic Advantage barrel with a mid length gas system with a Seekins adjustable gas block. I do run the gun suppressed for night time pig hunting. The problem im having is im having failure to extract or poor extraction 80% of the time. Either the spent round gets stuck under the extractor and slams into the receiver or it releases the spent casing only have it fall directly on the magazine or just roll out the rifle. I have adjusted the GB as per instructions. I have ran it wet and dry and nothing makes a difference.

NTXshooter
What loads are you using? Does it work with the gas block wide open? If not, is the gas block lined up with the gas port? There are other more knowledgeable people who will chime in soon.
MikedaddyH
Open up gas to 100% , first. Then buffer weight , second. If all else fails , add a o - ring to the spring in the bolt. This will help weak ejection/extractions.
unforgiven
I changed the recoil system to Armalite : extention tube, spring and buffer in my M5.Have the same upper except for Aero barrel 16".Runs good now.Just my 2 mags.

I had a regular gas block on it and it did the same thing. Everyone told me it was over gassed. Get an adjustable gas block they said it will fix it they said lol. The gas block is lined up perfectly ill post a pic down below. Edited January 10, 2016 by psdmedic

washguy
PS you gotta get it to lock with boltcatch use a single round in mag,but I think you got exactly what Unforgiven had going on...if it were me i would do what he did....its a short stroke/cycling deal....I think its not the gas but the tube/buffer/spring.....can you manually just pull the charge handle back and have it lock with an empty mag? unforgiven
Stock Armalite buffer, H3 was longer and heavier,as was the extention tube and spring than what Aero had.Was not an expensive retrofit.
