308 Suppressor on a 5.56

I read online that a suppressor for .308 will perform pretty good on a 5.56 weapon. Is this true?

I've seen quite a few guys run the AAC 762SD on a 5.56 gun.  <thumbsup>

I'm not sure what started it, but the economics of it make sense.  Expensive can, tax stamp - works on both calibers.  One can for the ARs, running multiple QA mounts.

Ya & you don't have to worry about the bullet hitting the or swiping the inside of the can, because of improper alignment.  <thumbsup>
