AngelDeVille
I'm considering taking the cheesegrater off my AR-10. Who makes Delta Ring kits for AR-10's, with an Armalite nut? Ideally I want a triangular handguard. Is it possible? Edited January 2, 2018 by AngelDeVille
Robocop1051
Call Armalite and get one directly from them. As forthe triangle handguard, you’re going to have to measure the distance of the gas block. I seem to remember that the AR10 rifle length was a bit longer than the DPMS model. If that’s the case, you’ll have to find a handguard that length, or come up with some kind of spacer. The spacer idea wouldn’t look right with the triangle HG, but you might be able to disguise it with a Magpul MOE-SL HG????
edgecrusher
I thought PRI May have one for you but it looks like they only offer their triangle guards for the AR15. Sucks, that would’ve been a sick add!!!!
AngelDeVille
Armalite is out of stock on the Delta ring. I'm pulling it apart in the next week or two so I can measure the distance. I have a couple triangle end caps. as long as the distance is the same the handguard may work, but since the Delta ring is built into the barrel nut, that's the clincher. COBrien
I believe the Armalite AR-10 gas system is .25" longer than the DPMS LR-308 (which, IIRC, is mil-spec AR-15). The only way to make it work is to lengthen the handguard or fab a spacer. Unless you want to re-barrel to a mid-gas, run a low profile gas block under your triangular handguard, and setup a faux gas block at AR-15 rifle length. But that's a lot of work just for "the look." AngelDeVille
I can't remember who made my barrel, but I'm certain it's not Armalite, so I may be in luck. I don't recall needing a special length gas tube. All the AR's I actually like shooting have A1 furniture.
