Catchdog Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 I have an LR-308C that I'd really like to have a railed handguard on. Is there any solutions other than a free float tube?
imschur Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 I did a custom search here at Brownells for you. I believe many of the results are relevant (some arent). Basically there is several railed models that install just like A2 handguards
Catchdog Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 Thanks. Most of those are for an AR-15 though.
98Z5V Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Maybe this will help - here are all 67 products that come up from Brownells in a specific ".308 AR" search, based on their search engine possibilities:http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/avs%7CMake_3=AR%20xzzx308/Products/AR_.308/If there is more than that available from them, then maybe they can help, as they're a member of this board.
imschur Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Thanks. Most of those are for an AR-15 though.Doesnt 308C just use standard A2 handguards?
Jgun Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Doesn't Midwest Industries offer a 2 piece drop in railed hand guard that utilizes the plastic handguard monts and doesn't effect the delta ring?
Catchdog Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 Yes the LR-308C has A2 handguards, and according to Midwest their drop in handguards won't work on a Dpms. I've seen some modular rail sections, that I thought might mount on the A2 handguards, does anybody know anything about those? Mainly if they're worth messing with, and if they'd actually mount up?
imschur Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 ahhh..it also might be the new DPMS rail height issue. Might fit but they will be different heights. I need to ponder a bit.
Catchdog Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 What the difference in height? Is the AR-10 higher, because my LR doesn't look all that high.
imschur Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 DPMS has changed the rail height three times. There's a thread or two here somewhere with measurements
