help please - firing pin retaining pin

I cannot get the pin back in.  WTF?

What happens? Wont go all the way through or wont start at all?

Got it through most of the way, since the hole is beveled at the start.  I just can't get it the rest of the way in.

Have you tried the pin without the firing pin in place? Does the split end still fit its hole? Try it from the outside directly and not through the carrier. Is the pin distorted anywhere? Can you measure the diameter and look and look for an anomaly.

Was it difficult to remove?

I'll give that a shot.  It was indeed difficult to remove, had to punch it out.

Notice the DPMS picture. Those legs might be spreading too far and are not compressing to go through the second hole

Thanks for the help Drew!  I punched it back out and tried from the back end.  It wouldn't go, so I pinched the gap a bit and it pushed through, pushed it in from the other side and voila, it's in and secure.

I was supposed to take it out this weekend, but started feeling sick on Friday.  At least I got it cleaned/prepped for the first outing.

I've had my BCG apart a few times now, and that stock pin is tight.  I'm sure my Fulton BCG is just the DPMS stock stuff, same/same.  I've had to tap it out, and tap it back in everytime now.  Don't know if it'll loosen up, but I'll keep tapping it anyway.
