imschur Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 I did a bad thing. I sent an email to Armalite Premiere Services Division inquiring to see if they can chamber an AR-10T in 22-250. As you all know mentioning stuff like this publicly is half way to placing an order.
Robocop1051 Posted December 2, 2011 Report Posted December 2, 2011 If you need help purchasing that rifle let me know... I can help you off load those PMAG's you hijacked <laughs>Not like you can use them with an Armalite anyways. ;)

I have magazines for firearms I "Plan on Owning" AR-10,M14,CZ 75B etc. When I clean my apartment it's like an easter egg hunt when I find magazines I forgot i bought or forgot where I stashed.
Retired JM Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Max COL of a 22-250 is 2.35 inches. You'd have to do some major jimmying to the mag and mag follower to make it work. It'd be interesting to see, though.
imschur Posted December 4, 2011 Author Report Posted December 4, 2011 You know I have a mountain of my favorite Hornady 22-250 ammo on hand. I can try it in the mags for sure. I read online that Armalite once offered 22-250 uppers and there was a tech note on the mags. I havent googled for that yet. I should also mention Im not concerned with barrel life
Retired JM Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 I should also mention Im not concerned with barrel lifeIndeed. 22-250 is a hot little bugger at ~4000 FPS.
imschur Posted December 4, 2011 Author Report Posted December 4, 2011 yep that little bullet at those speeds does some interesting things to various targets. ;D
Robocop1051 Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 I have a .221 Fireball and a 220 Swift... All those rocket .22's just demolish small game. I'd really like to shoot a .204 Ruger just for shits n giggles.
Retired JM Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Ya know, I was just thinking that 220 swift would be a better candidate than 22-250 because of the longer COL.
Slash Posted March 23, 2012 Report Posted March 23, 2012 At one time ArmaLite did offer AR10s in .22-250. As someone already mentioned, you can't just load up a 20 round mag and declare war on a dog town though. My guess is that this is one of the reasons why ArmaLite doesn't stock them as a regular item.I too fantasize about a .22-250 ArmaLite. One of these days I'll chamber a barrel and give it a go. I built a .243 five years ago, but it remains unfired. For some reason that caliber just doesn't appeal to me like the .22-250.As I type this post I'm thinking that I should just order a Kimber varminter, slap a spare S&B scope on top and head west. It's been a LOOONG time since I made those vermin dance. :)
imschur Posted March 24, 2012 Author Report Posted March 24, 2012 Well if you ever get around to trying I would be up for a barrel too <thumbsup>
Retired JM Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 Instead of whack-a-mole, out here we play whack-a-dog. Funny, but everytime I see a prairie dog town I think of Carl dropping the C4 bunny down the gopher hole in "Caddyshack."
bgdv1 Posted November 4, 2012 Report Posted November 4, 2012 an upper in 22-250 for my AR10 would be sweet. i have a bucket load of 22-250 and no gun for them.
